The good news is this is actually quite correctable. I maintain my firm belief that we as humans are capable of solving almost all of our problems, when we decide to do so.

And I still think that’s going to happen. I don’t know when or how, but I do know that abandoning hope won’t help bring it about.

And I refuse to let the cynics own a chunk of my heart.

the way ozempic has finally made the fact that eating healthy and exercising doesn't necessarily make you thin well known and society's reaction to this is not "oh i guess being thin or fat doesn't actually show if you're healthy" but "oh i guess everyone should be on this drug"

I have lots of coworkers that are middle-aged to older women. A few of them are on this and regularly talk about it. It just breaks my heart listening to them, hearing the way they speak about themselves, believing these lies about how they HAVE to be thin to have more value. And the thing is, I never hear them talk about feeling better in their bodies. It's only ever about the weight they've lost.

Weight is simply a side effect of a plethora of different things. And it should always *stay* as a side effect. If you happen to lose weight from taking better care of your body and it helps you feel more comfortable in it, then alright! That's great! If you keep weight or gain weight from caring for your body, then that's great, too!! The goal should never be size, it should ALWAYS be comfort and feeling/being healthy, as much as you possibly can with whatever conditions you may or may not have.

Also, doctors should also treat size and weight as simply a side effect, not the root health issue.
