[ Santana swallowed, not sure what to do. She ended up sitting up and then eventually standing up completely and stretching a little. Looking back at her sister, she shook her head. ] Hey, no. Nightmares happen. I’m sorry you had to deal with that. Are you sure you’re okay? Do you need something?

[ Abi sighed, her throat killing her, her head pounding, and her heart still racing in her chest. She didn’t know what to do anymore. Now she had gone and made things awkward, and made Santana want to leave for real. She shook her head. ] I don’t. Do you? Are you leaving? You can..if you want. I’m not forcing you to be here.

lopezontheside:

[ Santana wasn’t sure if Abi really was okay or not, but if her sister wanted to get her composure, she would let her have that. She understood what it was like to be caught off guard in an emotional moment. ] I wasn’t like… really sleeping. I’m fine. But if you want to move to the bed, that’s okay. I wanted you to lay down in the first place.

[ Keeping her hands at her eyes, Abi rubbed them roughly, trying to get the image of her dream out of her mind. It was hard, it was really hard having Santana here, having her see all of this. Letting out a cough, she finally moved her hands from her face to cover her mouth, coughing a good bit before finally settling down. ] I’m sorry. [ It came out horse, and slightly broke it, but Abi really was sorry. ]

lopezontheside:

[ Santana let Abi have her space when she startled awake, not sure if she wanted her to be touching her or anything. She watched her to make sure she looked okay, though, raising her brows when her sister turned to her. ] I… yeah. I promised, didn’t I? Are you okay?

[ Still breathing heavily and trying to catch her breath, Abi took slow, deep breaths and tired to rub the tears from her eyes. Swallowing past the lump that suddenly formed in her throat, she nodded her head slowly. ] You did. Yeah, yeah I’m fine. Are you? I didn’t wake you did I? I’m sorry if I did. We can... just go back to sleep if you want? My bed may be more comfy.

lopezontheside:

[ Santana blinked as Abi started moving. She’d been halfway dozing herself, but once her sister started moving, she was awake again. Reaching out, she gently stroked at Abi’s hair, trying to calm her down. At her words, though, Santana paused and frowned, feeling something inside her crack a little. ] Hey… shh, Abs, it’s a dream. You’re okay.

[ The more Abi dreamed, the more she moved and mumbled. It wasn’t something she wasn’t used to, usually when she was sick she had nightmares of things that had happened in the past, this wasn’t anything new. What was new, however, was having someone else there when she woke up. Which was exactly what happened. Blinking a few times, Abi sat up quickly, blinking and feeling a little dizzy at the rush of movements. She brought her hands up to her face realizing it was damp, much like the rest of her. Blinking a few more times, she glanced out of the corner of her eye, seeing her sister still there. ] I...huh? You’re still here.

lopezontheside:

[ Santana smiled softly as Abi’s voice got progressively quieter. At least she was finally giving in. Silly girl trying to make everything difficult. ] I promise. Love you too, Abs. Sweet dreams. [ She leaned back against the couch, trying to get herself comfy for the longhaul. ]

[ It didn’t take long after Santana had told her she loved her that Abi had fallen asleep, not that she was surprised. No matter how hard she fought Santana about it, she knew she was pretty sick and really tired, so she was expecting herself to fall asleep. What she wasn’t expecting, was to dream of waking up and Santana not being there. Little did she know, she was tossing and turning in her sleep, sweating buckets, and mumbling under her breath words not quite understandable. ] Mm.. no... San... don’t... mm... lea-.

lopezontheside:

[ Santana ran her fingers gently through Abi’s hair, mindlessly feeling the soft strands slide across her skin. She waited patiently for her sister to give in, only blinking softly at her question. ] I’ll still be here, Abi. I promise. Someone’s gotta stay to fight off your germs.

[ The more Santana rubbed her hands through her hair, the more Abi felt her eyes dropping. But she wasn’t ready to give in just yet, she had to hear Santana so those words. Once she did, her whole body felt like it could finally relax, and she allowed herself to close her eyes. ] Mmm...okay...as long as you. Promise. I guess I can...sleep.. Mm. Love you, ‘Tana.

lopezontheside:

[ Santana shook her head softly, looking down at her sister’s head buried against her. She was so glad she’d got her to just chill. It didn’t hurt that she was comfortable here as well. ] No, I’m fine. If you fall asleep I’m comfy, I promise.

[ Abi hummed, her eyes closing as she shivered slightly, still really not feeling all that well. But she wasn’t about to admit that. She did know, however, that she could use some sleep, but there was one condition she needed to make sure of before she did. ] I can believe that. Will...if I do go to sleep, will you still be here?

lopezontheside:

[ Santana shrugged a little bit, not going to change her mind. Abi was being cute, though, so she just continued to hold her gently. ] Nah. You are. Do you need anything else?

[ Groaning against Santana’s neck, Abi just let it drop, pushing it to the back of her mind, but not forgetting to prove to her sister that she is not a baby. Later, though. Right now she’s fine where she is. Shaking her head, she snuggled a little bit further into Santana, getting comfortable and letting out a breath. ] No. I think I’m okay. Do you?

lopezontheside:

[ Nuzzled Abi’s head gently, nose in her hair. She smiled a little, but didn’t let that on. ] You are. Both.

[ Still frowning at the fact that Santana called her both a baby and cute, Abi wasn’t sure what to think. She liked the fact that Santana had called her cute, a lot, so much she couldn’t explain why, but the other part? Please. ] Mmmph. Sannn. Come on.

lopezontheside:

[ Santana bit her lip gently and smiled, feeling the way that Abi rested against her. ] Then you’re being a baby. But a cute baby.

[ Abi let out a noise that resembled a grumble from the back of her throat and pouted, even though she knew Santana couldn’t see. ] I’m not being a baby. I’ll take the cute, but I’m not a baby.

lopezontheside:

[ Santana smiled a little, kissing the top of Abi’s head. ] You really, really should.

[ Feeling her heart stutter in her chest at the kiss pressed against her head, Abi sighed happily, slightly shaky. ] Mm..but what if I don’t want to?

lopezontheside:

And that’s why it’s obvious that you should get some sleep.

[ Pouting against Santana’s shoulder, Abi whined softly. ] Do I have to?

lopezontheside:

Because you seem like you could pass out at any time. Also you’re pale.

We’re Latina, we can’t be pale, Santana.

lopezontheside:

Sounds more like won’t, Abs. You need it.

What makes you think I won’t? I can’t. See, I’m comfortable and all but nope, nothing.

lopezontheside:

And why not? You seem like you need it. [ Santana shifted a little, trying to get Abi into a more reclined position while still rubbing her back. ]

Mmph.. [ Abi groaned as her body shifted but she stayed by Santana’s side and didn’t complain after. ] I just... can’t.

lopezontheside:

[ Santana continued to gently rub Abi’s back, smiling a little but still worried about her sister’s health. ] Okay. But really, maybe you should get some sleep, Abs.

I don’t know if I could, to be honest. [ Her body was tired, she was tired, but Santana was here, and she wouldn’t want to spend the whole time with the girl here sleeping. ]

lopezontheside:

You did, though. Are you listening to yourself cough here? [ Santana rubbed Abi’s back again. ] And even I couldn’t convince you that easily, so I have no idea. But you still need a keeper.

I can hear myself cough, yes. [ Letting out a groan Abi just shrugged her shoulders, currently giving in and falling deeper into Santana’s hold. ] I don’t even know what they would do. But yeah, whatever. Just...keep doing that.
