This is a new series to the blog where products get a rating of zero to five stars. Of course, this is all my opinion, as some products that do not work for me could work for you. Every skin type is different and everyone’s makeup differences are different as well. This is something new that I want to start incorporating to the blog so I hope you all enjoy! Product up for rating today: Girlactik Skin glow in the shade “Moonlight”

Where do I begin? First of all the packaging on this product is beautiful and very heavy for a highlight duo. This product consists of two cream highlight shades which are absolutely beautiful! I love cream products, but not a lot of cream products work well over powder, however, this product sits and blends beautifully over powder and just adds a beautiful glow that makes the skin look dewy. I have oily to combo skin, but I absolutely despise feeling matte. I prefer a more natural-looking base that looks glowy and dewy even if my skin gets oily throughout the day. These highlights do pack a punch so If you are not into a more blinding highlight it might not work for you, but a great thing about cream and liquid products is that you can work with them to achieve something that you are comfortable with and this product is no exception.

This product is amazing if you want to get into cream products but you are scared of whether or not they will work for you. So now for the rating!

Hello everyone! I’ve been gone for a long time I know forgive me! But I am back 😬 Today I am going to be talking about my low buy project for this year. I decided to do a low buy this year because I have a pretty excessive amount of makeup. My goal for this year is to finish up as much of the makeup that I have . I have however set some rules for this low buy that I will explain in further detail. I am going to be completely honest with you guys, I don’t really purchase makeup myself. I do get boxycharm which is a makeup and sometimes skincare subscription box which I get every month, but I don’t keep everything that I receive in the boxes. My boyfriend also buys the majority of my makeup so in theory this more of a low buy for him 😅. This is my first time ever doing a project like this so I am really excited! So let’s get started with the rules:

1) No lip products!

I will not be purchasing or asking for any lip products this year because my lip product collection is huge! I have a post coming up on my makeup collection so you guys can see why I decided to go on a low buy. I will only get new lip products if I receive them in a boxycharm.

2) no blushes!

Blushes take forever to use up! Also I’m not a blush type of girl I don’t get super excited for blushes so I don’t “buy” or receive them often. Again similar to my lip products I will not be buying or asking for blushes unless I get them in a boxycharm.

3) no bronzers/ contour products

Again like blushes, bronzer and contour products take a really long time to use up so I will also not be purchasing or asking for bronzers or contour products.

4) no highlighters!!!

I don’t really care for highlights, also I like the more subtle highlights and for some reason I have too many of them! I have singles and palettes.

5) only 3 products a month

I will allow myself to buy or ask my boyfriend to buy me (because I am always broke 😅)3 products a month, but... it could only be repurchases. So for example if I run out of primer then I will be getting a primer as one of my 3 products. If I happen to not buy 3 products that month, then I can roll over the number of products for the next month if I need to.

6) only 4 to 6 palettes

Eyeshadow palettes are my favorite makeup products so this is a little difficult for me, but eyeshadow palettes also take a really long time to use up. I also really want to try more indie brands this year so most of the palettes that I do get this year I hope will be indie palettes. I think I am leaning more towards getting six palettes and If i do that then I am only allowing myself to get 2 “mainstream” brand palettes.

7) gifts

Like I mentioned before, my boyfriend buys majority of my makeup. I don’t get makeup from him all the time unless I need something or it is something that I really really want. I get the most makeup from him on special occasions such as my birthday or Christmas. This year I really want to focus on building a skin care routine and on building my single eyeshadow collection. For gifts I am going to be more conscious on what I ask for so I am limiting the makeup that I ask for unless it is something limited edition that I really really want.

hopefully I can do it! I love makeup so much, but I really like a challenge hence why I am also doing a project Pan which I have to update you guys on soon.
