one of the five founding members of the organization currently known as lilium, lucia comes out of hiding and makes herself known to keaton & company. she provides help and information to keaton and the misfits, but rarely goes out in the field herself, unless she thinks lilium is directly involved, or by going out would further her interest/plan in putting an end to lilium’s current ideology, or if it provides her with information with finding the other founders.

ven sorus is a dread ai inhabiting the body of an alien from a distant galaxy. he was one of the original dread who lead the revolution, but quickly grew disillusioned with the teaching of tharr and his followers and defected from the hive, kicking around the universe before he eventually ended up on earth. as the dread began to take designs on earth, ven considered running again, before he met the misfits and decided to help instead.

the dread 101

by now you may have seen mention of the dread, either here or here so you are probably like forest what the fuck are the dread so im here to tell you

the dread are hyper advanced race of aliens who were created by a second long dead species originally as a series of ai designed to make the creators lives easier. however, the dread gained sentience and they were lead by one specific individual named tharr, and the dread took over the bodies of their hosts and slaughtered those who were not upgraded or put them to work as slaves. 

the dread shortly realized that the bodies of their former masters would not be enough for them, as a dread host loses the ability to reproduce, meaning any new dread created would be without bodies. as such, they went on to conquer another world. the dread continued in this manner - destroying countless civilzations on their quest for stronger and stronger hosts - until they butted up against the edge of green lantern space and began to hear tales of the metahumans of earth. 

the dread knew they would have to be careful about taking control of earth, knowing that earth’s protectors were possibly strong enough to stop them. they approached a power hungry man named maxwell lord and offered him extraoridinary power in exchange for helping them gain control of earth’s metahumans. maxwell eventually teamed up with michael chaplan, beginning their takeover in sabre city and manipulating the public into the creation of checkmate - a government organization put in place to “monitor” superheroes after the supposed terrorist attack by trickshot and other heroes, which was actually manipulated by michael and maxwell to frame the heroes. 

after the misfits exposed michael and maxwell’s tricks, the dread became desperate not to have their plan foiled and began to reach into alternate dimensions to find a way to stop the heroes of earth. this lead to a universe wide destabilization of the space-time continuum and eventually to a final climactic showdown aboard the dread hiveship between the dread upper echelon and the misfits and their allies. the ten year period between dread’s agents making their first moves against the heroes of earth and the destruction of the dread hiveship is known as the dread war. (spanning 2012-2022)

the ward of keaton gray from the 52nd century

carina mercer | wolfsbane | expertly trained assassin, acrobat, and marksman, genetically enhanced with nanites, superhuman intelligence, technopathy, probability manipulation, innate capability, and limited magnetism, uses 52nd century tech to time travel and hop through dimensions and universes

raised by the 52nd century version of lilium, carina was experimented on as a child with nanites injected into her body. as a teen, she stole some of the technology used to send her through time for training directly with assassins in history, and would use it to go through time for personal entertainment. upon being discovered doing that, she ran away with the technology, and eventually landed in sabre city, bringing the attention of the misfits. taken in by keaton because of their shared assassin upbringing, carina adapts fairly easily, but still has a tendency to use her technology to travel through time and universes when she’s bored. or fiddling with machinery and making small explosions.

the alien ward of rae williams

keiran grayson | stardust | telekinesis and telepathy, shape-shifting, flight, nuclear manipulation and related sub-powers, alien physiology, advanced knowledge of space, space travel and otherworldly science and culture  

during their final fight through the dread hiveship, rae happened across a small alien child, barely old enough to walk, trapped in a cage with several corpses. horrified, rae rescued the child and sent her back to earth in the care of agent blackadder. once the dust had settled, rae took the child in for some tests and ultimately determined that her physiology was unique among the species known to her thanks to her connections to the green lantern corps. the child refused to go with anyone except rae, freaking out when anyone who wasn’t rae approached her. rae decided to care for the child, naming her kieran. kieran eventually settled in fine to life on earth, usually using her shapeshifting abilities to appear human so as to not startle earth’s citizens, as her true form includes shimmering purple skin and iridescent wings not unlike an earth dragonfly.

skilled acrobat, fighter, marksman, and assassin, superhuman strength, cybernetic components 

during her brief time at college before her parents’ assassination, rae williams dated thomas o’riley, a stem major with a goofy sense of humor. although they made better friends than lovers, rae trusted thomas enough to not be suspicious when she ran into him again as titan, a cybernetic vigilante claiming to be working against maxwell lord and michael chaplan.
