The Stars Are Her Eyes || Natalia Rose
She was trying so hard to keep the tears from falling but no matter what she did, nothing worked. Natalia’s breathing was heavy and her lip quivered uncontrollably as Abram held her, his soft whispers barely soothing the blonde. Her slim fingers wrapped around the fabric of his shirt as she held on for dear life, sure that if she were to let go just a tiny bit, he would be taken away from her just as everyone she had ever loved had been. And maybe it was just that, the reason behind her tears. The assassin had been alone her entire life and anyone she had ever cared for left at some point. Maybe that’s why she was crying, not because her best friend had been murdered, rather she had been left alone once more.
“No, Abram p-please,” Natalia begged him, dropping both of her hands to grab his as she gripped them harder than she usually would have. Her bloodshot eyes looked up desperately at his calming blue ones, hoping he would do as she said. “He’s probably long gone and it wouldn’t even matter. D-Don’t, please?” She asked once more, her voice breaking a bit as she spoke.
And it was true what she said, the man had probably left and gone to an oblivion and could never be found. Hell, he could also be dead by now and what use would it be searching for a dead man? All these thoughts ran through her mind, but the most prominent one of all was the thought of Abram joining the list of everyone who had left. What if he disappeared along with the rest of them? What if he got sick of her and just never returned to her arms? Even worse, what if he died? Shaking her head and shutting her eyes, Natalia tried her hardest to get rid of these thoughts, but they wouldn’t budge.
She couldn’t take it anymore as she fell onto her knees, her head in her hands as she cried a bit louder than before. The blonde looked up at Abram, her eyes not leaving his once as she tried her hardest to calm herself. “P-Please don’t leave me Abram, I-I love you okay?” Natalia told him as if she was trying to convince him that she did. “I-I’m sorry, but I don’t want to be alone. I don’t w-want you to leave me like everyone else has,” She paused to let out some tears before continuing. “You’re the only one I have l-left and I love y-you so damn much. P-Please don’t go.”
Abram detested seeing her this way. That someone could make her feel like this, he wanted to burn a million houses down. He wanted to ruin a million people's lives. He wanted to make every thing right in the world for his beloved Natalia, and it killed him inside to know that he couldn't. All he could do was hold her up as her seams tore apart. Abram wanted to do more, why couldn't he.
She gripped his hands tightly, and he hardly reacted. He was glad to have his skin pressed by her. If she wanted to slice into his skin because her red blood made her joyous, well he would allow it. Her voice broke and it nearly shattered him to bits. Here she was breaking in front of him, and she was begging him not to do anything.
He did not like the words that were coming out of her mouth. He wanted to find this guy, he did not want to give up. Abram wanted to fix all he could for her. He could find anyone if he set his mind to it. The feelings he was feeling could not nearly be describe. It was fire raging inside him, burning to murder whoever caused this pain to her. He didn't know how to explain this to her. An anger that only an assassin could hold, but he feared maybe his raged more. Maybe his anger could scare her away. His fingers nearly hardened within her hands.
His striking blue eyes widened seeing this strong girl fall to her knees. His hands were white as snow, but with clear signs of where Natalia had gripped him. He knelt down next to her unsure of what to do. His face contorted into confusion. Why was she saying these odd things, he wouldn't leave her. But suddenly she began explaining herself. She'd been abandoned so many times.
She'd been hurt so many times, maybe it was hard to believe Abram wouldn't follow in those footsteps. He calmly brought his hands to her face, holding her head still.
"Natalia Rose. I would never in a million years leave you. I'm not like anyone else, and if I were to go searching for this man- I'd bring you with me because I can not bear to be without you. There won't be a day without you for me now. Do you understand?"
He came closer to her lips, his fingers wiping the tears away.
"Natalia you are everything."
He closed the space between their lips, and kissed through her shaky breath.
