This borough is awfully quiet...
Yeah, yeah. Sure.
Um... anything new lately?
Is it safe to come out...?
Haha, you’re so adorable.
Me? As in Willow? Oh...
Is it safe to come out...?
Um, sure. That’d be nice.
Awesome!
This borough is awfully quiet...
Aren’t you a social butterfly. Blake.
Used to be, as I said. Nice to meet you, Blake.
This borough is awfully quiet...
And according to the rules of a proper conversation this is where you tell me. But whatever, I don’t care…
I'm sorry. I'm not used to this anymore...
I'm Willow.
This borough is awfully quiet...
I’ll count this as another proof of what I said. I never left. Blake, yes. I suppose this is the moment where I remember your name?
Well, everyone's been dead for a long time. I don't expect you to know my name, 'cause I don't think I've ever told you...
The Trade | Abram & Willow.
It was hard for Abram to notice trivial things about other girls usually because he wasn’t one to notice the superficial details of girls. If he were ever to notice anything of that sort it would have been about Natalia maybe even Skye. The details of other girls were quite unimportant to him. Though maybe he’d notice later when he realized the girl he seemed to believe was a big follower of the rules had broken one of them. He almost blushed at her surprise. Was it such a stirring motion that he wanted her to move in? Maybe it was the fact that he was following the rules of the Society. Well, then again, Willow had absolutely no clue of his part take in the dark side of things. “I’m going to ask her to move in. I want to make a big deal about it. The way I proposed wasn’t very big… and I just want her to know that I am a man of showmanship.” He grinned as they kept walking. They were walking together in step when she grabbed his wrist. He didn’t find any oddity in it so he allowed it. “I think I wanna buy her a ring. Something different from the one’s other married couples have. I want her to know she’s different.” He wasn’t sure he’d be able to find what he was looking for, but he knew he would sure indeed try. Maybe he could find some new wear for Willow, it might get tiring to wear the same clothing so often. He was already annoyed of wearing his ‘going out’ clothes.
Willow lifted a hand up to her lips and began to chew on her fingernails, which wasn't much of a habit for her, but she guessed this was a moment of nervousness. The last time she'd ever ruined her nails by doing so was when she was little... a very long time ago. She didn't understand what Abram was trying to tell her, just because he didn't seem like the type to suddenly be forward with his match.
Maybe she simply didn't know much about the guy. So much for being close friends. "Well, I'm glad that you did. I really like her. And I'm sure you guys will be happy together," she said confidently, trying to hide her slight disappointment.
"That sounds really sweet. But I need to help you with that, because I'm not sure how much you really know about girls." She wrinkled her nose, giggling softly under her breath.
This borough is awfully quiet...
While I’m not complaining, I’m still surprised.
Hey! When did you come back? Blake, right?
Is it safe to come out...?
Well, I’m here now, so hopefully that’ll change!
Yep... can we hang out, like we used to?
Is it safe to come out...?
I’ve been alright. What about you?
I've been fine, I suppose. Lonely.
The Trade | Abram & Willow.
He looked her up and down again. He could swear there was something off about her, but for the hell of it he couldn’t remember. He was usually very good at details. Well, atleast the very apparent ones. He shrugged and just resided with the fact that he was just imagining things. He began walking down her street. “Well, I’m trying to find a piece of jewelry that signifies a lifetime partnership and an invitation to move in… Except I don’t know exactly how to do that.” He brought his hand to the back of his neck and he laughed awkwardly. He wasn’t really honest with his intentions to many people, but if anyone deserved to know about his engagement it deserved to be Willow. “Plus we could get you things if you liked them?”
She wasn't able to figure out how Abram couldn't notice the change in her appearance. When Willow had first gotten her hair color changed, it was because she was bored and experimenting with herself. But it didn't suit her quite well, so she'd done it multiple times after that. There may have been arguments with her parents about doing so at all, and she might get into trouble with authorities later on, but she dove right in, head first (and only).
"Wait, what?" she said aloud as she listened to Abram go on, quirking her eyebrow suspiciously. Did he really just say the words 'move in'? And were they to be about Natalia? She didn't know what to think of it, because she hadn't caught up with them in such a long time. Maybe I'm just a bad friend... She couldn't focus on his words following 'move in'. God, she couldn't have been more confused.
She took hold of his wrist, making sure not to accidentally dig her un-trimmed nails into his flesh. The last time she'd paid attention to her body was when she was more out-and-about. However, since her parents were the only people around to see her, she didn't bother with what she looked like. "What are you planning on doing, Abram?"
Is it safe to come out...?
Willow, hey. I’ve missed you, too!
No, really... I've missed you. How are you?
This is a roleplay based off the Matched trilogy by Ally Condie.
We live in a dystopian future - here, the Society decides where you live, where you work, and more importantly, who you love, and when you die. You are to be matched with whoever is most compatible with you and whoever they believe you’ll make healthy children with. There is a matching ceremony, known as a banquet, every year for the people who have turned seventeen that year; that is where you first “meet” your match.
Children younger than seventeen are not allowed to go to the banquet, the reason being they want your first banquet to be your own. Years later, when you and your match are twenty, you receive your marriage contract. You are only allowed to have children between the ages of 23-35 and die on your eightieth birthday. The Society believes that is enough time for everyone to fulfill what they want to do in life, but not live long enough so they will fill useless and die alone.
They want an oh-so perfect world and for everyone to live a flawless life. They try to keep the murderers, the thieves, the liars away from the area. It’s only a matter of time that certain actions are taken to step out of line and people begin to take matters into their own hands.
