I also don't normally color scalaras in, but the chars are black, so I felt like it'd be kinda...weird for them to see them without it xwx

I noticed two of my masks have similar color pallets, so have decided to make them friends/adoptive siblings :3

Guppy, the little guy with the hat, likes to travel when they can and always makes it a priority to come tell his nearly shut in sister about his travels/adventures :3 she does travel in the summer but it's not very far and it's mainly for a seasonal job with Tove, one of the governors whome I don't believe you've seen yet.. I need to make some introduction art for the dorks still xwx

Also the little guys hanging on ...the still nameless char.. are the things I've mentioned once or twice called Sillies, they're little annoying fucks but cute, so many masks tolerate them. They're small gossips and trouble makers, known for stealing things right before you need them, and acting somewhere in between fae and raccoons. They take many forms but have a handful of defining traits such as their button nose and small eyes, many also have a 3 shaped mouth

originally I was just going to make an apartment complex, but then realized "shit.. i have a lot of characters" and "I guess they probably wouldn't all want to live in the same place.."

AND SO, GACHON is born. this is also an excuse to get myself to draw environments again, as well as to practice the things I've slacked on as times gone on. It's also just a fun project, for me, so don't over analyze my silly world. It's meant to be stupid.

As I've mentioned before, ive been putting together a world for my characters to live in recently, a silly place called Gachon. A place full of possibly, too much color, and too much life✨️🌿

Its been a real effort to pull out my VERY OLD childhood ocs, from my junky ass mind Cabinet. Making a place for each character in gachon, has inspired me to also involve my childhood characters. As a sort of self challenge, I suppose? And to make kid me happy

Eskura was a beloved character of mine for many years back when I used to rp with a group of other dorks in JR high lmao.

And honestly I DO NOT remember the shinx's name, they were also a character I used in an rp group as a teen 💀💀💀 though I've given both a fresh coat of paint, I made sure they'd still be recognizable to those who knew em :3 I hope to give them a new life in gachon, who knows maybe they'll even end up friends if they live in the same zone

As well as a very snazzy (if I do say so myself) panphlet page thingy explaining the first zone you guys will get to learn about/the first decent chunk of information that I'll drop In general in regards to gachon.

But I will say, childhood ocs that pertain to a franchise (homestuck, wc, ect.) have essentially been torn from their original lore. they know vaugley of it, mainly from dreams they never fully remember nor understand. But basically thats why Eskura will still type with a writing quirk and use terms their neighbors don't know. They do not have access to any of the game constructs from their story, but will refrence them at times!

God I can't wait for you guys to see the forked up flooded ecosystem.. it amuses me..

Queer refugees in East Africa are living at the intersection of multiple forms of vulnerability fleeing violence at home, only to face new risks in displacement.

Across the region, many LGBTQ+ people are forced to leave their countries because of criminalization, persecution, and threats to their lives. In some places, same-sex relationships are still punishable by severe penalties, even death.

For those who reach countries like Kenya or Uganda, safety is not guaranteed. Refugee camps such as Kakuma have seen reports of discrimination, attacks, and tensions affecting LGBTQ+ residents, even as humanitarian agencies try to improve protection.

Recent years have also seen more people fleeing harsh laws like Uganda’s Anti-Homosexuality Act pushing queer individuals to seek asylum across borders, often into already strained systems.

Beyond physical safety, queer refugees face isolation, lack of healthcare, limited legal protection, and mental health challenges shaped by both displacement and identity-based trauma.

And yet, across East Africa, queer refugee communities continue to organize, support each other, and demand dignity, visibility, and rights.

Queer refugees are not just statistics they are people seeking the same thing anyone would: safety, belonging, and the freedom to live openly.
