"Damn right whatever I say… ocean sucks." He muttered under his breath, the toe of his sneaker kicking a pebble off the rock. Glancing over to Saturn, he shrugged, a corner of his lips tugging up into a light grin. "Well, yeah. We saved up money for awhile, and our group of friends came to a vote for who looked the oldest. I won." His grin faded when Saturn got all serious — but then he realized he was joking, and his eyes narrowed. "Stop this."
Rusty missed his hometown, and all of his friends, but being on this great adventure made it impossible to be homesick. Plus, he’s constantly video chatting with everybody, so that made him feel better. “Pff, that’s lame, Saturn. But I guess if you’re not home there’s no point in decorating according to your personality. Or maybe you did — but you’re just bland.” He quipped, sticking his tongue out at the other. “The only thing I can think of is that new Nicki Minaj song. I liked that.” He’s grinning again, before he decided to lay against the rock with his hands on his tummy, staring up at the sky. “I didn’t know your grandparents ran a day care, though. Okay — my turn. What’re you afraid of? No deep stuff. Like the future. I mean like bugs, or the dark. Something you’d be embarrassed to say.”
Saturn turned himself to get a good look at Rusty. “I need to see if that holds true myself.” After a few seconds, he nodded in affirmation and shifted himself back over so he was next to Rusty again, their arms lightly touching. He leaned back on his arms while he had his legs out forward. The sun setting was beautiful and he felt at peace. He frowned at Rusty’s comment. “I can promise you, I’m not bland.” And then he stuck his tongue out at the other. “Although I can guarantee you that your life is far from bland if you’re into Nicki Minaj.” Saturn bit his lip to stifle his laughter.
“What am I afraid of?” He furrowed again, thinking about his answer. There really wasn’t much he was afraid of. He had to be strong a lot for his grandparents when they couldn’t handle some situations. “Well, I’m not a huge fan of masks. They peeve me out. Especially the Halloween ones.” He shuddered at the thought of walking into a Halloween store and seeing the wall of masks. To try and push that thought out of his mind, he thought of another question to ask Rusty. “So of everyone in our group, if you were to end up with one of them, who would it be?” Saturn mischievously grinned, hungry for gossip and deets.
