° starlight / sen + ace,
all the souls that would die just to feel alive
one thing that sen is sure she misses about being in japan is the way the academy had been relatively new, not so much magic weaved into the grounds, where muggle technology could coexist with magic. here, in hogwarts, just laying her hand on the grounds, sen thinks she might feel the old magic breathing against her skin and talking to her. that and she might have watched too much fantasy anime before coming here but that’s besides the point.
she doesn’t know enough about magic to know if it can be old enough to be sentient and she doesn’t care. all she cares about is how she can’t listen to her music on her ipod, which she’s brought, but can never get to work. it either fizzes out on her or just flashes her wonky screens. her theory is the spiritual energy. she swears nearly headless nick must float through her trunk and fuzz it up. nonetheless, she’ll bug one of the ravenclaws to see if they’ve found a cure.
in the meantime, she sits on the ledge of a window in the astronomy tower past curfew and stares out at the endless stretch of sky. she lived in a city in japan, too many lights that blocked out the starlight that she saw only on rare occasion, if mama brought her to visit ‘baachan in the countryside. sen will tell anyone who asks that it’s just jetlag, but she knows the matron in the infirmary would have that cured in a fix. wizards don’t get jetlag, they’d say. but she smiles and counts the stars in the sky, she wouldn’t ever admit she might be homesick.
Despite being the troublemaker that she had always been, Ace found herself outside the corridors later than she was supposed to be out. Nonetheless, she clutched her wand tightly within her slender digits, watching a group of Ravenclaws talking about something she honestly had no idea of. She wasn't exactly dimwitted, yet, she had never been one to go out and observe the things and the way they operate. Almost rolling her eyes at them, she skipped carelessly down the halls, finding herself in the astronomy tower in hopes of stumbling upon something that would spark her interest.
Humming as she traced her fingertips along the walls while climbing up the stairs, she gasped and yelped loudly when she saw the figure sat still, completely soaked in their own tranquillity. Her curious nature urged her to approach the figure, when other people would have turned away and minded their own business. Ace did not have any company at this late at night, others were probably busy burying their noses in the textbooks, while the other half would be causing havoc, that, or planning pranks on poor innocent people that they happen to not be too 'fond' of.
Taking a deep breath, she sank her teeth on her bottom lip, tilting her head to get a good look of the figure that sat still, then a huge yet cheeky smile found its way to her features, wiggling her brows in a playful manner. "Ayo. Fancy seeing you here babe." Speaking in a sing-song voice, she ran a hand through her hair and sat next to her, clicking her tongue once as she noticed the expression that she had never seen before. They've been around each other a couple times, but then again, Ace is never too good with reading people's minds. "What you doing here at this time? And please please, for the love of all the marshmallows in the world, don't ask the question right back at me."
