I also like psychic types, which of course meant Metagross was a natural favorite, but others include Xatu and Porygon. Alakazam too, when it comes to usefulness but.. I’m not quite as fond of it’s design as I am others.

It’s mega form is just wonderful as well. I’ve spent a large part of my adolescent research days studying them in the wild. I only have one psychic specific Pokemon in my party, but it’s more of a companion than anything else.

If playing the defensive game, they have a solid basis of types they are resistant to and are all but completely immune to poison moves and being poisoned, as well as only being weak to a handful of types. 

I also just think they’re neat.

It’s good to be tactful when it comes to typing choices and movesets that will cover weaknesses, but it is very fulfilling to use Pokemon that you just simply enjoy.

STANTLER SPLICES!

As a follow-up for my Girafarig Crossbreeds, I wanted to draw another Weird Bro With Hooves. Problem: Stantler is in the same egg group as Girafarig (field), which basically meant anything I “bred” it with would either be Girafarig’s sloppy seconds or rejects. Boring. SO HOW ABOUT SPLICES INSTEAD? 

Science has gone too far, and mashed up Stantler with a bunch of Pokemon it can’t breed with. The unifying theme here is that they’re all psychic, playing off Stantler’s moveset if not its typing.
