On the run. In solitude the runner finds reinvigoration. Rambling over endless hillsides, amidst the green, green, rolling land. In a single scene one’s mind gets lost momentarily. Just enough to return back to society in peace and anew.

Nearly 28 years ago Chris McCandless met his end inside of the 'Magic Bus' in Denali National Park, Alaska. His life of wanderings and subsequent demise have sparked both disdain and admiration. But Chris (or Alex) has become an almost mythical icon due to the immortalizing of his name by Jon Krakauer and Sean Penn thereafter. The story of Chris they portray is one of a societal outcast so pure and driven in his being that it led him to grow disillusioned by society's deeply embedded fallacies and embark on a journey for the ultimate: the truth. As with many people, I imagine, Chris's story sparked something primal within me, the urge to run away into the wild, away from the mess that often can be our modern world. Yet, later I realized it was not this impulse of evasion that should be the sole drive. It should be to go and find truth, about oneself, about one's surroundings, about the world. That is why I turn to nature, to see truth in being; "to call each thing by its right name". The Magic Bus represents that thing we all seek to find. It represents uncorrupted living away from society's ills and the discovery of Truth; that life is simple as long as we have love for the places we live and the people we live with. Live actively and truthfully. #aclive
