New Action Jets CD “Breakin’ Through” Now Streaming!!

Action Jets, the PHX-based rock 'n roll trio with garage rock, power pop and rock ‘n roll sounds, are thrilled to release “Breakin’ Through”, the trio’s second full-length offering. 

The release contains nine songs, with seven new recordings and two earlier singles - “Big Dumb Show” and “Tarot Cards” - released in 2016. The LP also includes an awesome cover of the Teenage Bottlerocket song “I Found the One”. The new collection of rock ‘n roll songs on “Breakin’ Through” follows on the band’s 2015 debut “Action Party Epic Fun”, which introduced the band to garage rockers and powerpoppers everywhere. Since their debut release, Action Jets songs have been featured on powerpop music podcasts, reviewed on indie rock blogs, and played on local Phoenix radio. “Breakin’ Through” offers a raw, unfettered sound that fits the classic garage rock songs. Flat out rockers include ‘Big Dumb Show’ (new mix), ‘I Don’t Mind’ and ‘Rock ‘n Roll Drag Queen’. Lead songwriter Dfactor Dave’s pop instincts shine through more clearly on “Your Number One” and “Whatcha Gonna Do About It”, and the punkier tunes include the TBR cover and ‘Tarot Cards’.

The band recorded “Breakin’ Through” on their own in a variety of locations. “We recorded throughout summer and fall 2016 in secret locations around the Phoenix valley,” remarked bandleader Dfactor Dave. “Mostly to capture lightning-in-a-bottle moments and to make sure we could work at our own pace.” New textures emerge in the songs, include keyboard sounds (played by Dfactor), and other elements of hand claps, cowbells, and synthesizers. The band has 4-5 songs already written for its next offering, while its live shows feature a mix of originals and cover versions from The Replacements, Green Day, Badfinger and Generation X. New Dfactor Pop EP - The Times Have Changed (And So Have We)

DIY Rock 'n roller Dfactor Pop (aka Action Dave of Action Jets) has a new EP! It's called "The Times Have Changed (And So Have We) and it's available at Bandcamp and Soundcloud!

The "The Times Have Changed (And So Have We)" EP contains four brand new songs from the pen of singer-songwriter Dfactor Pop. On this digital-only release are the songs:

1) The Times Have Changed (And So Have We) - a timely powerpop rockin' look at our confused nation and what it's done to us.

2) Surrounded & Outnumbered - A blistering guitar track that revs along nicely at about 170 BPMs, "Surrounded & Outnumbered" is a defiant song of speeding along the bumpy path of frustration.

3) Baby, It's Not You - Dfactor shows his playful side with a title cop of an old Shirelles song (later covered by The (early) Beatles)  and twists it around for the anti-love song that rules.

4) Moody Love Song - Moody, indeed, with a sullen bass line carrying a sentimental plea to a lover or three.  

Taken together, these four songs show a mature guy writing rockers and pop songs that  are catchy, timely and relevant to garage rock and powerpop fans everywhere. Dfactor says:

"This EP could've easily been an LP, but we're all on shorter wavelengths these days. And with the overriding news of the day peeling our brains apart, it's best to keep the rockers short and fast, and the pop songs catchy and tuneful!"

He means it - All four songs capture Dfactor's love of fast, catchy guitars, rockin' rhythms, strong drums, and melodies that lodge in the brain for days, if not longer.

The new EP follows Dfactor's earlier 2016 new singles "It's Over for You", a rousing 2 min. rocker about death & mortality, and his politically tinged single folk-pop single "The Battle is Underway."

Dfactor Pop has been writing, recording and performing his rockin' pop songs since the early '00s, combining his love for punk rock, indie rock and catchy powerpop into a DIY catalog that shows no sign of slowing down! The hits just keep coming!
