“So I was thinking, clearly, the beginning of school has bummed everyone out so we deserve to go have some fun at Hogsmeade. Are you in? I was thinking of going to a few shops and even putting together some studying goodie bags. Like with snacks and stuff.”
“I’m in, that’d be lots of fun. It would be a nice way to get our minds off of school and such. Having some fun sounds perfectly brilliant.”
“Gosh, you okay? I saw you fall, and it looked painful.”
“I’m alright, thank you.” Ted replied with a smile. “I’m just trying to get used to my new feet.” He joked. “Nothing out of the ordinary, of course.”
“So, the feast has turned into a fashion contest with the freedom of a no-dress code. Although, I have to admit though, it’s quite fun to dress up.”
“A fashion contest? I do admit that it is quite fun to see everyone out of uniform and able to express themselves a bit.”
“Oh no. I’ve got others… you know, back in my room.” Andie ran her fingers over the book with a soothing pet to keep it calm as she grinned. “Does it have a name? Your book.” She felt like it was an odd question, but she wanted to know if it did, and she also wanted to keep their conversation from ending. “Right. Maybe we could meet somewhere later? Maybe the library or something.” Her words came quickly as her face started to redden, surprised at his question. Looking around to see that most students had already cleared the corridor, she nodded slowly and waved a hand behind her. “I’ll be heading that way. I would like that, but not if it’s out of your way or anything though.”
“That’s good because what I’ve learned over the years is that you can never have too many sweaters.” He said with a nod. “A name? Uh yeah, it does. It’s name is Amy. A simple but elegant name.” It was very clear that he had such love for Amelia, jokingly naming the book after her. “Yes, I’d love that. We could meet at the library.” His cheeks, becoming a bit flushed once he answered her. Ted often found himself blushing around the brunette. “Don’t worry, it’s not out of my way at all. Ladies first though, of course.” He said, gesturing to the direction where she had mentioned she was going.

“I’ve never thought about it like that.” Amelia commented, more to herself than the person standing beside her, with a light frown. It never ceased to amaze her how pensive and warmhearted her best friend truly was. “Y’know, I’ll be looking forward to that triple-check.” With a slight laugh, Amy’s eyes tracked the ground in front of her as she thought of a way to ask the question that had been bouncing around in her mind without breaking the easy banter between the the herself and the boy walking alongside her. “So, how have you been, Teddy? Am I going to have to beat up any Slytherins this early in the school year?”
“Don’t worry, the last time I ask you if you’re okay from this, you’ll be least expecting it. It’ll be like a surprise check-in.” Ted knew that Amy would do anything for him, especially those who were out to get him due to his blood status or rather nonexistent blood status. “I’ve been good, I’ve been good.” He said with a nod. “How about yourself, Amy?” He paused and looked down at his shoe before looking up again. “Well, you know that guy Rabastan? He already seems out to get me and the year has just begun.” The blond said with a shrug, unsure of what he ever did to the Slytherin. “That house really isn’t a huge fan of me at all.”
How could she have done that already? Lily couldn’t believe herself. It was still the first week back and she had lost something already. The good thing was, someone nice had found it and returned it to her safely, but she felt bad for losing the necklace either way - it had been a gift from her parents, and she would hate herself for losing it. With her mind still wandering in these thoughts, the girl didn’t have the opportunity to move before someone bumped into her. And although he did knock into her, she gave him a smile and decided it wasn’t only his fault. “I wasn’t really paying attention either.” She chuckled at his joke. “I’m sure with a little more practice no one will even notice it’s a new thing. Yeah, I’m fine, thanks. What about you?”
Ted shook his head, knowing that he was most completely at fault for this due to his actions. “I really should have been paying attention to where I was walking so I do apologize.” He smiled at Lily, relieved that she was fine. “Yes, I’m more than fine. I just wanted to make sure that I didn’t potentially hurt you since that really could have been the result of my actions.

“Since when does having untied shoelaces cause someone to panic?” Amelia jested with a genuine grin before throwing her arm around her friend’s shoulders. “I’m pretty sure it’s impossible to seriously injure someone by bumping into them, Ted. Thank you for caring enough to ask, though– most people wouldn’t bother to stop and say something.”
“I just didn’t want anyone to trip over them when they went by or I don’t know. It just happened.” He said with a shrug. “Well you know, we aren’t most people. We’re Ted and Amy. Two peas in a pod, two peas that go together out of a pod as well. So I just wanted to double-check and I’ll probably triple-check in a few hours too.”
“Whoa, hey- Ted!” Iain’s brief flash of annoyance at being run into - again - vanished almost instantaneously upon recognizing his peer. “I’m fine, but are you? I feel like walking should be something you would know how to do by now.” He grinned, and began weaving his way to the edge of the hallway. “So how’s your summer been? Play any good Quidditch?”
“I’m learning slowly but surely.” He chuckled at his own joke, before listening to Iain speak. “I’m afraid not.” Ted added with a frown. “But my summer’s been really good. How about yourself?”
“Right. Such a proper start for the day,” slinging her bag back onto her shoulder, she tried to laugh it off, but there was something that kept her stomach churning nervously as she looked up at him. “That would be very lovely of you. I promise I’ll take care of it like one of my own.” If there was anything she cherished dearly, it was books.
“I hope that’s not your only sweater.” Of course it probably wouldn’t be but Ted was trying to make conversation however he could, even if it made him sound like a bit of an idiot. “That sounds good. You can just give it back to me after class or whenever or something.” The problem that he had when he spoke to Andromeda was that he could not ever really think straight and use his words when he was around her. He was just hoping that she didn’t think he was a fool. “Where are you headed to? Maybe I could walk with you.”
“ Oh bloody hell you got to be kidding me, -”
Rabastan cursed as he saw who was headed his way, but what were the odds of seeing them again they were in a castle for the sake of it. “ What do you want now you ? and why are you out about at this hour, didn’t anyone tell you, you came learn at this place. Not that I need it, I mean. I’m just saying.”
Rabastan was the last person that Ted wanted to run into. He had always meant trouble in Ted’s eyes. “I don’t want anything. I know I came to learn. I am a prefect after all, I’m supposed to be patrolling the hallways this late.” Ted added, trying to sound as nice as possible. “I believe that you can never stop learning so despite what your belief and others might be, there’s still more to learn.”
“I think someone needs to learn how to double-knot their shoes.” Amelia quipped with a grin, easily bantering with her closest confidant. “Maybe you should do what normal people do and gracefully step to the side when your shoelaces come undone. But, I mean… you do you, Ted.”
“I know how to.” He replied with a bubbly smile. “It’s just sometimes my laces don’t cooperate.” Ted knew his best friend was right and nodded at her. “I just panicked. This is why I need you, if you were hear then this wouldn’t have happened.” Ted teased. “I’m just glad I didn’t hurt you.”
One would think that simply being knocked into would only somewhat knock someone off balance, but Charity was truly something special because the bump sent her staggering backwards and tripping over someone’s trunk. Groaning, the blonde rubbed her elbow and nodded, chuckling softly. “Oh, no. I’m such a klutz it isn’t even funny. Not your fault.” As she pushed herself up, wincing at a pain in her hip, Charity waved him off. “I’ll be fine. Little sore, maybe, but fine. Are you alright?”
Ted clasped his hand to his mouth, watching the situation unfold all due to him. “I’m alright but are you sure you are? I could walk you to the infirmary if you’d like. That didn’t look good.” He replied, with concern in his voice.
Poppy wobbled a bit and almost fell but was able to regain her balance. “Oh no worries. I’m always knocking into people. Being graceful isn’t exactly a quality I’ve ever been able to obtain.”
It wasn’t his intention at all and Ted almost grabbed Poppy to make sure that she didn’t completely fall over but stopped himself once she regained her balance on her own. It felt reassuring that she wasn’t really graceful either strangely. “I need to learn to look where I’m walking.” He joked, a smile appearing. “You’d figure after all these years I’d be able to walk without knocking into people. If I ever become graceful, I’ll let you know though and tell you the secrets to being graceful although I don’t think that’ll happen. You seem very graceful though, you did stop yourself from falling afterall.”
“What do you take me for, an idiot?” She questioned accusingly, “Of course it was metaphorical. Rambling is not going to get you anywhere in this conversation.”
The blond shook his head. “No, no. I don’t take you for an idiot at all. I really don’t think anyone is an idiot.” He looked down at his feet, one shoe still untied. “Again, I’m really sorry for bumping into you. If you’d like to move on and not talk to me, I’m totally cool with that.”
‘’Merlin Ted, has anyone told you that going at train speed and not watching where you’re going is dangerous?’’ Marlene complained, bending down to pull her shoe back on properly after Ted has knocked into her, standing on the heel of her shoe; causing it to almost slip off her foot. ‘’Anyone would mistake you for a heavy steel object rather than a human being.’’
“I didn’t even realize I was walking that fast. That was very dangerous. I’m so sorry.” He almost laughed at his own clumsiness. “You’re not hurt right?”
