Mercy carefully checked her nails, only looking up when the Hogwarts Express gave a pointed whistle, the sound familiar and strangely comforting. She enjoyed school. Her parents always felt the need to shower her with gifts while she was away and that served to make her time spent in the castle more than enjoyable. Not to mention the status her family along with so many others seemed to hold among the witches and wizards who had been raised in the magical world. Her daddy always told her blood was important, that she was special. And not once had she ever doubted him. But he had been proven right the moment she stepped foot in the Great Hall. People knew the Flints in the same way they knew the Blacks and the Carrows. Purity demanded respect. She turned to absentmindedly scan the crowd, judging the clothes worn by the family a few feet to her right. It was only as she rolled her eyes that she noticed Bellatrix, her beauty easy to spot among so many plain people. She smiled sweetly, excited to see her old friend despite seeing her many times over the holidays. “Bella!” She bounded over to where she was standing, pulling her into a hug regardless of whether she would appreciate the contact. “Daddy is just putting away my trunk, have you seen him yet? I know he’ll want to speak with you before he leaves, you know how much he adores your family.” @toujoursbella
truly, deeply loathing you // bellatrix & daniyah
Daniyah was deep in the winding corridors or the Archives. She had taken enough curves around the cabinets to separate herself from the noise of anyone currently at the desks. The only company she had were the labels reading off a wide array of topics, from Parseltonge to Pumpkin Juice. Like so many other things about the British Ministry, the sorting system only made sense about half the time. A fact that could drive her crazy, but she would certainly exploit when it suited her.
As she was filing away some documents a researcher had taken out and not even tried to put back, she would take the opportunity to slip back a few things she had taken out for her own purposes. Nothing she wasn’t allowed to have, but she still preferred for her actions to not be tracked too closely.
Pulling open the Patronus drawer, she slipped back in what she had found as far as registries for corporeal Patronuses. It wasn’t something she had brought up to anyone at the Order; just a passing idea she had, which she didn’t share unless she actually found something worthwhile. She hadn’t decided yet if this was leading anywhere useful.
The shelf easily slide back into place with her push, and as it did it revealed Bellatrix, who had been standing on the other side just out of Daniyah’s sight. She jumped a little in shock. Bellatrix Black was a frightening figure in even the best of circumstances.
“Is there something you need, Bellatrix?” she asked, not bothering to reign in the icy edges on her words. Not that she tried to hard to be warm and friendly to most people, but both women knew there was no love lost between them. What was the point in pretending? “Because if not, I really would prefer to get back to it by myself.”

hook, line... // tazie & bellatrix
Anastazie hadn’t expected to see Bellatrix out and about in Hogsmeade. Not because she expected her to be hiding away from the world after what happened, as she couldn’t imagine anything chasing Bellatrix Black into hiding. Rather, she was surprised by the coincidence of it.
Just that morning, she and a few other Ravenclaw members were caught up in lively speculation about the attack. In the fashion of some of her favorite aspects about the house, it wasn’t so much a debate on what was true and not or where blame needed to be thrown. Instead, they were wondering who the mysterious attacker could be, what they were aiming to achieve, and if they accomplished it or if Bellatrix managed to thwart them. Regardless, it was a conversation that had left the whole event sitting at the top of her mind the rest of the day.
So, to see the eldest Black sister suddenly before her felt like a watered-down sort of fate she was willing to believe in. It was the universe’s way of, at the very least, allowing Tazie to see that she was okay. She took a moment to mentally calculate the acceptability of approaching her and asking, then a decision was made and she was off.
“Bellatrix. It is so good to see you. What brings you up to Hogsmeade on a windy day like this?” The normal pleasantries had to be gotten out of the way first, of course. She wasn’t an animal. “I bet you have been asked to death how you are doing. So I will just say, it is awful what happened. I cannot believe the state we are living in sometimes.”

Despair and Threats
WHO: Cygnus Black and Bellatrix Black, Andromeda Black, Narcissa Black, and Regulus Black WHEN: January 14th, 1978. 5:45PM. WHERE: Cygnus Black’s chambers
The atmosphere was somber in Cygnus Black’s chambers as he awaited the arrival of his daughters and nephew. He had gone around yesterday to personally inform Bellatrix, Andromeda, and Narcissa that their presence was required, and he had sent Regulus an owl this morning. He would be leaving tomorrow, bright and early, and there was things that he needed to run by the younger members of his family. Reminders of family, of duty. Times were changing, and the Black family had been attacked. That would not stand, and he needed to remind them of what it meant to be apart of this family.
He glanced over the table, which was set neatly five plates. He’d informed the house elves that he wanted dinner served promptly at 6:15. He had told the children to arrive at 6. There was a knock against the doors of his chambers, and Cygnus plucked his cigarette from his lips so that he might be able to greet whomever it was that had arrived. He raised an eyebrow, his lips twitching slightly at the person who stepped inside.
“You’re early.”
