Miami Heat 2013 NBA Champions

LeBron James added solidarity to his, often criticized, NBA career by scoring 37pts, 12 rebounds & 4 assists to lead the Miami Heat to their second consecutive NBA title by clinching game 7 of their NBA Finals series with a 95-88 victory over the San Antonio Spurs. Tim Duncan has 24pts and 12 rebounds for San Antonio while have a chance to tie the game late in the 4th quarter and then missing a shot at the rim and also a missed put back.

Diddy Announces New "Revolt" TV To Air On Time-Warner

Diddy announces his new television network, "Revolt" has struck a broadcasting deal with Time-Warner and could start airing as early as this fall. In making the announcement, Diddy directed his angle in doing this to compete with historic media giant, MTV. More to come on this as more details emerge.

Beats By Dre Offers Up A Pill For Their Listeners

Equipped with input and output options, you can run the Pill on almost anything that runs audio. Im thinking this will actually make it easier for me as a DJ when it comes to hooking my Pioneer controller up. Party to go anyone? 

Im going to definitely get my hands on one of these soon. Not expensive at all but im sure very effective to say the least.

R.I.P. James Gandolfini 1961 – 2013

The entertainment world is still in total shock of the sudden death of James Gandolfini, star of the acclaimed HBO series "The Sorpranos" who died in Italy while attending a film festival. Mr. Gandolfini was 51.

Pioneer rolls out the big guns with the latest release for their CDJ series. At a time when DJs are moving towards the new controller-driven era, Pioneer still keeps the basics at arm's reach with a vid that shows off the new abilities of their new CDJs. From a DJ standpoint, I can do with or without CDJs. 

I own a Pioneer DDJ We-Go controller which does everything I need it to. Make no mistake tho, I still own an authentic pair of Technic 1200s that I've owed for almost a decade and still work like a charm.

Jay-Z Releases New Album July 4th Via Samsung

 This is a new innovative way of branding and who else but Jay could show people how its done. Though some have speculated on Samsung’s intentions with the budding relationship they now have with music via Mr. Carter, it is still the refreshing scene of Jay collaborating with Swizz Beatz, Timbaland, Pharrell & Rick Rubin that leads us to believe that, regardless of how it’s released, the new album should give us that classic Hov-From-The-RocAFella-Days kinda vibe.

Sports Ticker: Bulls Defeat Knicks 105 -102

In the wake of a road loss to the, now, athletic Philidelphia 76ers, a struggling Chicago Bulls team took their talents to Madison Square garden in NYC to face the New York Knicks. Reigning MVP, Chitown's own, Derrick Rose scored 32 pts and coupled that with 13 assists while Bulls rookie, Marquette stand out, Jimmy Butler had 7 pts in just 21 minutes of play as the Bulls prevail and hopefully redeem them selves from a struggling week that started Sunday with a loss to the Miami Heat.

I know I am a day late with this post but it wouldn't be fair NOT to pay respects to a pioneer who for years paved a way for, not just black music, but music in general. Today we pay our respects to a man that was an ambassador, a humanitarian and serious influence in pop culture. Don Cornelius was 75.

Open Discussion: Social Media: Gift Or Curse?

With the ever-changing world of social media taking form every day, the question still remains... Has social media impaired our ability to have a real face to face encounter with people?

I've noticed that 80% of the people I have had the pleasure of meeting in person are either nothing like they are online weather it be physical appearance or overall demeanor. Sometimes the impact of social media has allowed people to communicate better, while in some instances it has allowed people the opportunity to use the internet to "flex some muscle" via "Internet-Bullying." I look at some of the things I see teens and middle-aged adults saying online and it burns a hole in my heart because I'm sure this is not what it was intended for. I see people who can't operate a vehicle, more or less, yield to the traffic of a vehicle, without having their heads buried in a text message or getting their FB status updated or answering a tweet.

Don't worry people. I've been guilty of all of the above. Regardless, I'd like to take this time to get your thoughts.. How would you rate social media in your personal lives?
