//hey guys, sorry i havent responded to RPs yet, not feeling very well but ill try to get to them sometime today! <3
When asked if he was hurt, Rinzler didn’t answer. He hesitated silently for a long time before his helmet derezzed itself from his head, revealing a large purple bruise with a few pixels falling off here and there. He stared down at the ground for a long while; he wasn’t used to showing his actual face to people. CLU said it was forbidden…
…but he wasn’t too keen on thinking of what CLU wanted right now. Just remembering CLU made him shudder; he held his head in his hands.
" I … " Rinzler began, but he couldn’t finish his sentence. He just shook his head and coughed out a sigh.
❝Merde...❞
Both the damage, and the fact that Rinzler had been damaged, astounded him. He never though the Enforcer was even capable of getting hurt, which was a bold and incorrect assumption on his part, but now he was aware of it. The program had been hit pretty hard for something like this to happen. CLU truly relentless, even to his own.
❝I see.❞
He nodded, just in case Rinzler wanted some indicator to put his helmet back on. It was rare to see him without it. So not only were their feelings hurt, their face was bruised as well.
❝.I...I-I wish I could offer some sort of solution, but you and I both know that is far out of my capabilities. Is there something I can help with? E-even if it's comfort?❞
Before Rinzler's helmet rerezzed itself, he glanced up at Thomas. Not many people were able to see Rinzler's face ever, so not everyone knew his true emotions. But one could tell by looking at him that he was hurt, emotionally and physically. He was so confused about his role... about what his relationship was to CLU now...and what it had been before... but what WAS that "before"...? He only had vague memories of it.
Allowing his helmet to recreate itself, he stood up suddenly. But CLU had done much more than hit him in the face; he wasn't really a man of mercy, as most people knew. Rinzler grabbed the side of the table to steady himself as he felt his leg give out where CLU had kicked him.
He sighed. Allowing Thomas to see all of this was...bad. He did like the other, but...he wasn't sure who he could trust anymore, after what CLU had done and these memories that wracked his brain. He wasn't speculating against Thomas; he was speculating FOR him. What if Thomas told someone who found a way to use it against Rinzler? Or what if Rinzler showing his face to Thomas got Thomas in trouble?
No, he couldn't let that happen. Thomas had been nothing but sincerely friendly and good to him, even though he knew Rinzler's reputation. He couldn't allow any harm to come to the other because of himself. So perhaps he should go....but that was hard to do when his injuries were starting to catch up with him.
He watched as the woman glanced down at herself in confusion. She seemed unfamiliar with something… probably everything, if she wasn’t from around here. His brain itched for him to grab her by the throat and just take her disc, but he knew he couldn’t do that. Calm...
Once she complied, Rinzler roughly grabbed her arm and cut it open. If she was a program, there would simply be pixels there. But there werent. Blood fell out, meaning she was a....
" U s e r . . . "
He looked up at her and studied her face for a moment. Did she even know what that meant? Probably not. But she would, soon enough. He turned and starting dragging her towards CLU's tower; his Luminary demanded all Users be brought to him. If she had relation to Kevin Flynn or not, they would determine there. But even if she didn't, it could still assist them in their attempt to escape The Grid.
His target spoke; calling out seemingly for another person. Perhaps another rebel, run off and abandoned their comrade? Or did they truly lose someone? Either way, he wasn’t concerned with who this “Mari” person was; all he cared about was the girl in front of him.
So...
He watched as the woman glanced down at herself in confusion. She seemed unfamiliar with something... probably everything, if she wasn't from around here. His brain itched for him to grab her by the throat and just take her disc, but he knew he couldn't do that. Calm down. Figure out who she was first. Sometimes his violent programming got the better of his intelligence.
Rivasys. An Identification. One he wasn't familiar with... Was she a User? Well, there was only one way to find out... He approached her silently, close enough to be able to touch her. He reached out to grab her arm, hesitating to see if she would pull away. He could of course take her by force, but - not having to would be better.
Rinzler hesitated before taking the cloth from Thomas and attempting to dry himself off. He rubbed his own helmet with the cloth half-heartedly. He nodded at the robot in a sort of thanks.
He looked around; though he didn’t know where Guy-Man was at the moment, but he was sure wherever he was he must be shaking in his metal to know Rinzler was alone with them in here. He smirked silently at the thought of it. But only for a moment, before his depression took him over again.
How could he even begin to talk about what happened…? He could hardly speak, but aside from that, he was so confused about himself…
A low whirring sounded from his throat as he tried to think of how to start. He held the cloth in his hands and tugged at it softly.
" H e … h i t m e . " Rinzler choked out.
Sometimes Thomas forgot how Rinzler didn’t speak. It wasn’t as if he couldn’t speak, but he could only manage to do so with a degree of difficulty. It was better to ask yes or no questions. They were far more reasonable questions for the Enforcer to answer, rather than inducing what Thom percieved to be some sort of vocal strain. After finding out it was Tron under that obsidian helmet, it occurred to him that he probably wasn’t meant to talk in the first place.
❝...hit you?❞
But who was “he”? The question he had asked was more towards himself in a short bout of disbelief. Nobody hit Rinzler. Rinzler crushed programs. He thought on it more, still puzzled by the short broken string of words. Someone hit him and he had become depressed about it? Could it have been CLU? Nobody else could have managed to do so and lived. And if it was CLU, what could the infamous Enforcer have done to deserve that?
❝You're not hurt, are you? Physically, I-I mean.❞
When asked if he was hurt, Rinzler didn't answer. He hesitated silently for a long time before his helmet derezzed itself from his head, revealing a large purple bruise with a few pixels falling off here and there. He stared down at the ground for a long while; he wasn't used to showing his actual face to people. CLU said it was forbidden...
...but he wasn't too keen on thinking of what CLU wanted right now. Just remembering CLU made him shudder; he held his head in his hands.
" I . . . " Rinzler began, but he couldn't finish his sentence. He just shook his head and coughed out a sigh.
A thought occurred to Rinzler; could this have been a back-up program for CLU? Did CLU know about this? This program who also claimed to be Clu asked if there was another program “like him”. Where they…one in the same? It reminded him of the feeling he got when a certain someone was mentioned around him… Getting off topic. Right. What mattered here was…this strange program. He didnt feel it would be right to derezz him; the situation was….too strange to just pass up. Too dire to deem unworthy. So he approached the other and held a hand out to him. "I ’ l l t a k e y o u . " Boy, this would be quite a story for the Luminary.
His initial reaction was to resist. He backed away, looking past the other tall program at the tower. Flee or investigate? What could be in that tower? Curiosity won. He took the security program’s hand, cautiously. A chill ran through him, but he no longer hesitated.
He grasped “Clu’s” hand in his own tightly, just in case he tried to escape. Changing his mind was not an option now. Rinzler dragged him along forcefully, but not in an attempt to be mean. Just dominant. He was also eager to find out the truth to this story. Glancing up at the building, he realized there was quite a bit of distance between them and there. He slid his hand down his own leg and grabbed the baton there, pulling it out. He let go of “Clu’s” hand for a moment and threw himself forward, the baton rezzing into a light cycle. He mounted it and then looked back at the other, patting the seat behind him.
So here he was again, captured. Disconnected. Being dragged off somewhere by a security program. Clu1 was startled when the program rezzed a light cycle out of seemingly nowhere. Non-static vehicle. Interesting. He eyed the bike uncertainly, but got on. It beat traveling by Recognizer- at least it stayed on the ground.
He waited for the other to join him on the bike, and when he did, he revved it up and drove on out towards the building. He loved the rush the high-speed gave him, and he took sharp turns and twists on his way there. He glanced over his shoulder to see how the other program was handling the ride.
Ram…
That name jolted Rinzler in his core, and his head ached as strange images crossed his mind. They were blurry, but he could hear laughing and see figures, though he couldn’t quite tell who was who. There was a cell of some sort… The Enforcer gripped his helmeted head in his hands suddenly; it was too much for him to bear, he felt like his mind was imploding. He growled in pain and looked back up at this face…this face that seemed so familiar for some reason. " R a m … ? "
The hacker took a few steps back as the Enforcer seemed to contort in… Anger? No, there was a note of desperation in the growl. Ram had seen (and heard) enough destruction to recognize the sound of a program in pain.
It was the perfect opportunity to run. He’d have a head start and everything- maybe even a chance at survival. Rinzler didn’t look like he was up for a chase at the moment, and Ram was a nano away from bolting like a frightened Bit.
But he stayed.
"Y-yes? That’d… that’d be me."
Rinzler took a step towards Ram; something called him to the other... something begged him to... well... he didnt really know... was it his drive to dominate and destroy...? Or was it something else...? He reached out towards the other, not entirely sure of what he meant by it, but doing that made more visions flash through his mind, of another time, and memories between this figure in front of him and..himself? Or? he wasn't quite sure.
It hurt his head so bad, he doubled over and braced himself with his hands on his knees. His entire body quivered profusely under the stress; it felt like he was being ripped up from the inside out.
» So Disney Infinity actually got back to me pretty quickly about Sam and Quorra being ‘digitally exclusive’ (AKA no figures). Apparently they’re “paying close attention to the community right now," and "the team is listening...
profoundly-naive:
Really? As simple as that? Well. Now this was easy. She just wouldn’t go to CLU, and say she got the approval. Because something told her there was no fragging way CLU would let her go, and besides, better to ask forgiveness than for permission,...
The Enforcer smirked softly at her comment; in truth, it was a little of both - though, he wasn't entirely sure if "fun" could be processed into his programming. Perhaps it was more the "thrill" of retaining power over others, of holding their lives by a thread in between his fingers, having the ability to snip the thread at any moment, all for his Leader and Luminary. That was close enough to "fun", right?
He leaned his back against the wall as he studied their targets. It wouldn''t be long now before the group split off; they had to catch them before they could escape.
So, Rinzler turned to Quorra and spoke with a series of hand signals; he insinuated that she would step out and perform an act of intimidation, frightening them to run down the alley, where Rinzler would already be waiting. Once they had them cornered, the two black guards would be able to have their way with the criminals.
It was strange. He was sure he had never seen this program before, but…somehow, he felt he knew him. His facial structure and voice struck a familiar chord in him, his personality should have annoyed him, but it, for some reason, made him feel nostalgic. He didn’t understand; why was he feeling this way? Maybe there was a glitch in his programming.
He looked the other over; he couldn’t stop himself, for some reason. Looking upon this other figure made him feel…at home. Eugh. He shook his head in an attempt to clear this feeling from himself: he wasn’t designed to feel all mushy like this. It was…weird. Gross.
"I d e n t i f y ." Rinzler demanded, his voice sounding like that of a broken record.
The choppiness of the Enforcer’s voice made the shorter program wince. It didn’t sound like it was easy for him to talk.
"Name’s Ram."
Thankfully, his tone didn’t betray his wariness at having the Grid’s most feared security program sizing him up. Then again, Ram had found himself in similar situations before. The threat of authority didn’t phase him as much as Rinzler’s sudden appearance did. Now that he’d had a moment to process what was happening, the hacker felt some of his usual boldness returning. Still, his top priority was making it out of this encounter in one piece.
"Look, I promise I won’t be any trouble if you just let me go on my way."
Ram... That name jolted Rinzler in his core, and his head ached as strange images crossed his mind. "W-who…" a pant, "Who are you?"
Rinzler stepped towards the other, discs revving in his palms. He had no interest in conversation; all he knew was that he was supposed to take this rebel out. Something about it felt wrong,…
The Enforcer approached the other as he backed away, pleased by this male program’s fear. He was programmed to strike terror in the very core of lower beings; and it was working. He spun his discs in his hands as he shoved his foot into the center of this rebel’s chest, forcing his back to the floor.
His back roughly hit the floor and he grasped the program’s ankle, trying to pull it off him.
The orange-circuited program glanced down at his ankle being weakly gripped by his opposer, but his foot didn't budge from his chest. He raised one disc in the air before his broken voice sounded out, " I d e n t i f y . "
Rinzler’s steps slowed to a stop as she called out to him. As persistent as ever, huh. Always had a knack for wanting to be in the action, that one. He sighed. He /knew/ she could be of help to him, and the rest of the Enforcers. But it really wasn’t his place to decide...
Rinzler tapped his foot with his arms folded over his chest as he waited for her. He honestly felt there was a slim chance of CLU letting her out - /slim/, but a chance. If he was in a good mood.
Once she returned, he was certainly a bit surprised to hear how it went; he would let her go? Really? Well... there was no way she could get out without her shock collar being shut down, so it must be true. Though, something still seemed peculiar about the situation - so he'd have to keep a close eye on her.
He nodded silently, stepping into the lift with her and pressing the button for it to go down. Once the door opened, the two took to the streets covered by the blanket of darkness to sneak up on their prey.

He groggily stood as the other pulled at his arm, allowing Thomas to drag him inside, his shoes squeaking as he walked into the club dripping wet. He slipped down into one of the seats and held his helmeted head in his hands once more.
Goodness, he was a mess. Thomas went behind the bar and picked up a two cloths, then returned to sit beside Rinzler. He handed one to the downtrodden Enforcer while he use the other for himself. He dabbed lightly at his helmet as he began to dry off.
❝I know the cloth isn't much, b-but it's something. If you need another, I'll get you one.❞
Allowing other programs in after hours like this wasn’t permissible unless Castor was expecting someone. Thomas figured Rinzler being who he was would be enough of a pass, if there was ever a fuss about it, he would deal with it later. Right now, it was important to him to take care of this.
❝It wouldn't make any sense for me to ask if you're okay... D-do you care to share what's wrong? It's just you and me and Guy-Man in here, so there's nothing to worry about.❞
Rinzler hesitated before taking the cloth from Thomas and attempting to dry himself off. He rubbed his own helmet with the cloth half-heartedly. He nodded at the robot in a sort of thanks.

Rinzler’s train of thought was shattered as he heard himself being addressed. Who would ever bother speaking to him? He looked up to see none other than Thomas, one of the robot DJs from the End of Line Club that he had gotten acquainted with. He stared at him silently for a moment before raising his hand in a sort of wave.
It lazily then fell back at his side then. Anyone would be able to tell Rinzler wasn’t himself. His demeanor wasn’t intimidating and dominating as usual; he seemed lethargic and downput. One could tell even though they couldn’t see his face, just by the slump of his shoulders.
Though, he was actually sort of glad to see Thomas - he hadn’t spoken to him in a little while, and he had grown fond of him; which was uncommon. Rinzler generally didn’t like anyone. Thomas was…an exception, perhaps.
[ ? ]
Rinzler didn’t look at all like himself. Thomas couldn’t imagine what could have gotten him down like this, but sitting around in the rain wasn’t going to solve anything. He strayed further and rested his hand on Rinzler. Carefully. He didn’t want to get hurt if the black-clad program had some special reflex.
❝...Rinzler, you can't sit out here like this. Maybe you can come inside and talk about it?❞
He tugged the program’s arm, urging him to come along.

Rain bounced off of the top of Rinzler’s helmet and flooded down his circuits; but even being soaked to the core couldn’t make him budge from his spot. He held his head in his hands… he didn’t know who he was anymore. He was so confused about everything… so many memories he...

Fran turns to get a glimpse at the program that had suddenly undigitzed itself into her apartment.
"Alright, who’s got the cahones to-"
Upon a good look at the figure, her face turns pale, her brain slowly recollecting the identity of her visitor….
She holds her hands out slightly, as if in defense. She is constantly facing him.
Her tone is shaky as she speaks.
"I know wh..who you are, and have n-no idea how you got here. How’s about we sit down, keep our hands off our weapons, andENGAGE DEFENSE PROTOCOL: ALPHA-RINZLER!
Fran immediately starts running for her room as the embedded patterns upon the walls start flashing a virulent red, and barriers seemingly made of hard light go over doors and windows.
ARTI’s voice rings out.
[WARNING: SUBJECT: RINZLER, HAS ENTERED THE APARTMENT. DEFENSE PROTOCOL ALPHA-RINZLER HAS BEEN ACTIVATED. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED]
Immediately, turrets start sprouting from certain sealing areas, and start to fire at the program.
Rinzler raises an eyebrow at the female as she speaks to him, but his instincts kick into gear as she goes back on her word and lights and noises start going off. He rips his discs from his back and immediately revs them up; how did he miss that trap? his sensors must have gotten a bit jammed up after ending up here by mistake. He jumps and flips around the the shots from the turrets swiftly and gracefully. He scans the room, trying to find their source. He looks up: the ceiling. During his pause, one of the bullets manages to scrape his forearm, and he winces in pain. But this only succeeds in making him angrier. He throws his discs at the turrets and they’re destroyed - or at least shut down for now; who knows what this girl has up her sleeve. Right. the girl. His discs return to him, and he looks around. She seems to have run off. He heaves a shaky sigh of annoyance as he remounts his discs on his back and quietly follows her footsteps, his arms folded over his chest. Whyd she have to go and do that, he thought to himself? She just made things all the more worse for herself.
"Crap, crap, CRAP!”
Fran is rummaging through the the massive room of trinkets from her travels, trying to find the one piece in her collection that could stand a chance at stopping Rinzler long enough for her to send him back. Her search did give her a few weapons to distract Rinzler if necessary (namely, an old electro-pulse gun ala her old “friend,” Mr. Quill’s model, and an old broadsword).
"Come on, where is it, where-"
She had found it. An old-looking disk, almost resembling a frisbee with blue rings around the center.
She grinned as she picked it up, it’s rings suddenly glowing a fine neon blue.
With that, she started running for the main room, the hard light gates letting her pass through easily.
He stopped in his tracks as the girl returned. Well, that was easier than expected. She was…a strange one, he had decided. Very confusing and indecisive, perhaps?
But his attempt to diagnose her character was washed from his brain as soon as he laid eyes on the disc on her hands. She was threatening him - at least, perhaps attempting to, he gathered - with an odd looking disc, but a disc, nonetheless. Its circuitry pulsated when in close proximity to Rinzler.
So, he reached behind him once more and pulled out his own disc, then splitting it into two discs and taking a fighting stance. Honestly, fighting her probably wasn’t necessary - he wasnt even sure why he was here, perhaps it was a mistake - but if it was a fight she wanted, it was a fight she would get.
She enters the main room, holding the disk in one hand and her eyes focused on Rinzler.
What she was about to do was either the stupidest thing she’s ever done, or the riskiest. She could never tell these days.
She calls him out.
"Hey, ugly!"
Rinzler paused and cocked his head to the side. Did she think petty insults would really rile him up? He knew not of his own appearance aside from the scar that crawled up his throat to his cheek and that he had hair on his head; he could feel that much.
His thumbs pressed against the discs in his hands. He waited for her to continue with her silly banter - if she dared.
