& PEYTON:

“You’re allowed to ask anything you want. But as for that, I’m just going to give you the sparknotes version if you don’t mind.” The brunette said as she bit her lower lip and thought about it a little more. “I’m here to see my dad. He kind of got in a relationship that was questionable and I didn’t approve of, so I left. Now, I’m back to see him.”

         “Okay,” Adam said slowly, nodding as he listened to her. Dad problems were not something he could relate to, as he’d never met his own, but he could imagine it probably wasn’t easy. “And is he still in the same questionable relationship now?”

& PEYTON‌:

“Yeah. Well that’s what mothers are for, aren’t they?” Peyton said with a laugh since she didn’t have a mother, apart from a fucked up step mother she would meet soon enough, and she sure as hell needed a drink for that. “Surprise me, as long as it gets me drunk quick.”

         “You’re right, that’s kind of their job,” he agreed with a soft chuckle. Moving towards the bar, he gestured for the bartender to get them two shots. “Sounds like a wise choice to me. --So... am I allowed to ask about the reason you came back to town?”

& PEYTON:

“I would hope so. I don’t know what kind of person that would make you if you hated the person who brought you into this world.” The girl said, laughing as she toyed with his guilt a little bit. “But hey, I think we should take a shot as a celebration for being in the club and hopefully getting through it without injuring someone.”

           “A very bad person for sure. But I love her, dearly, even if she sometimes talks too much to strangers about me,” Adam smirked, shaking his head a little. “A shot sounds like a great idea. Any special wishes?”

& XANDER‌:

“I mean…if you’ll have me, then yeah.” Xander gave a wry smile, curling his fingers into the fabric of Adam’s shirt and pulling him towards the living room. He pushed the man lightly onto the couch, only so he could crawl over him and place another kiss against his mouth, “I’ll stay as long as you want.”

         “Absolutely,” Adam smiled, following the other into his living room. It was still a work in progress, just like most of his house, but at least the couch was standing already. Taking a seat, he placed his hands on Xander’s hips as he crawled over him, catching his lips for a kiss. “As long as I want? That means I’ll have to improvise breakfast for you in the morning.”

& XANDER‌:

Xander pulled away, a grin on his face as he searched the human’s features. Adam was a nice guy. One of those that Xander wished he could just see absolutely ruined. However, the vampire didn’t want to hurt him, he just wanted to see Adam hurt others. “I like your actions, love. I guess I even like you enough to call me Alexandru.”

         “Wow, now I feel very special,” Adam smirked, putting a hand to his chest with a small chuckle. “But don’t worry, I don’t have to do that. I like saying Xander just as much.” Nodding towards his living room, he added, “Does that mean you’re going to stay?”

& PEYTON‌:

“Oh well that sucks for you,” the girl said with a little grin on her lips when he mentioned his mother being the cause of his distress. “As I said, that’s because you don’t know me because I’m a little bitter and not normally this friendly, if I’m honest.”

         “I don’t know -- I don’t really want to blame her, I do love her after all,” he chuckled. Usually, his mom kept to herself anyway, it was surprising how many people knew about his return. “Yeah? Well, that’s okay. I can be bitter too. Welcome to the club.”

& PEYTON‌:

“Shut the fuck up,” Peyton said with wide eyes and a shake of her head in disbelief. She wouldn’t know what the fuck to do if that continued to happen to her for the next few weeks, much less months. “You’re lying,” the girl said with a laugh before sighing and dipping her head back. “But I think you seem much more friendly and more likeable than I am.”

           “Yeah, but maybe that’s just because my mom knows everyone in this town and I keep meeting people who heard all the stories from her,” Adam said in an attempt to reassure her, but laughter fell from his lips as he did so. “I’m not. I promise. --And I don’t know about that. You look very friendly to me.”

& XANDER‌:

Xander had to reign himself back, gripping Adam’s shirt as he kissed the human. It was something he wouldn’t get tired of for a while, to say the least. “Mhm, you are better at that.” He pushed Adam back against the counter, kissing him once more before he pulled away, “Not bad, Kingston. So you do like me, huh?”

            “That’s what I’ve been trying to tell you, yeah,” he smirked, leaning back against the counter he was pushed again as he brushed a hand through his hair. “Maybe I should stick to showing that with actions rather than words.”

& PEYTON‌:

“Really?” The woman said with a tilt of her head and a small smirk, guessing he may have been a few years younger than her which is why she didn’t readily recognize him. “Glad to know I’m not the only one. How long ago did you get here?” she asked him before crossing her arms over her chest. “That’s what I was thinking. Just ignoring everyone, I’ll wear hats and earphones for the next month.”

           “Really,” he agreed, knowing in a town like this one always thought they should know everyone. But he’d never been the most outgoing type, at least not as a kid, and since his return from war it wasn’t any different. “It’s been six months now. It still happens to me though,” he admitted with a crooked smile. “That’s a good plan. Don’t let anyone near you, that’ll spare you the waste of time.”

& LYLA: 

Lyla sniffle once more, quickly wiping her cheeks as she glanced over at the male. “Still, I should at least try and hold myself together, at least for the produces sake.” She said, trying her best to smile brightly at him. “It’s all just so awful, I didn’t expect someone to show up– murdered… less then a month I’ve even lived here.”

         “Um, do you--” Adam stopped mid-sentence, pulling out a pack of tissues from the pocket of his jacket before holding it out for her. “Here, do you maybe want one?” Nodding at her words, a sigh escaped from his lips. “I’ve lived here most of my life, and I can’t say I’ve expected it either. It’s crazy. And I think that means you’re allowed to not hold it together all the time.”

& PEYTON‌:

“Thank you,” Peyton said with a small smile before letting out a billow of air when the male seemed to know exactly why the girl was trying to get him to bring her to the bar. “How did you know?” she eyed him with a little laugh, feeling that they both knew the annoyance of having to stay stuck talking to someone they didn’t want to. “I’m back in town and people who’ve never reached out in years seem to be all the more eager to know what I’m doing, which I’m sure if more for their own benefit than mine.”

          “No need to thank me,” Adam smiled, leaning against the bar once they reached it. “Let’s just say... I had to go through the same thing plenty of times when I came back to town.” And he had never been in the mood to talk about his time overseas, or how he was doing, or any of those stupid questions. “It definitely is. They need news for their gossip, stuff to share... you’re better off not talking to them. At least that’s my experience.”

& XANDER‌:

For a second, Xander almost felt guilty for what he was doing. Why? He hadn’t felt this way in centuries – but he’d turn Adam one day, willingly or not. Even if he abandoned him to the curse of immortality, at least he’d be satisfied. “Rusty? Nah. But you should really skip to the making out, Kingston. You’re making a guy wait – and I’m not really patient.”

         “Okay, okay,” Adam laughed, holding up his hands before he moved in to close the gap between them. “I’m much better at that than at making out anyway,” he added quietly, finishing his sentence just as his lips pressed against Xander’s, one arm wrapping around the other’s waist to pull him in closer.

& LYLA‌:

Sighing sadly as she held the apple in her hand, this was perhaps the first time she had ventured outside since the morbid events that ended the town celebrations. Sniffling slightly and looking over when she saw someone. “Sorry.” She muttered, quickly wiping her cheeks and letting out a breath. “I-it’s just so awful, everything that happened.” She muttered, carefully placing the apple back rather then in her basket. “What an awful way to end such a happy day.”

          Adam didn’t mean to stare, but when he noticed the woman close to him was crying, he couldn’t help it -- torn between wanting to help her out and not knowing what he could do to make her feel better with all the awful things happening around town. “No need to be sorry,” he reassured her right away, a weak smile on his own lips. “I know, it’s awful. I never thought such cruel things can happen around here.”

& PEYTON:

Upon her arrival in town a while back, Peyton had ensured to keep a low profile until she felt comfortable roading around the town she’d left many years ago without looking over her back. However, in a moment of confidence and with the false promise of an open bar, the brunette made her way to the ongoing event. However, it was clear upon her arrival that she wasn’t sure why she’d come. In fact, mere seconds in she had gotten ambushed by an old friend whom she had no desire to speak to, only to catch the gaze of another. A hand lifted, motioning a question to the stranger. “Wanna get a drink?” No matter who they were, an old friend or not, she needed to get away from the bubbly blond wanting to catch up.

             Adam couldn’t say he felt very comfortable in his own skin there -- then again, did he ever? It felt like ever since he came back to town, feeling uncomfortable was just his go to thing. Still, when a stranger waved at him and asking to get a drink, clearly trying to get out of an awful situation, he didn’t hesitate to agree. “Of course,” he smiled, moving in closer to steal her away from the blonde who was shooting him angry glares. Accompanying her to the bar, he  couldn’t help but grin. “Let me guess, someone just desperately wanted to catch up with you?” After all, that was something he knew very well.

& XANDER‌:

“I don’t do unrequited love, Adam. It’s so dramatic and romcom-ish. Anyway, I can go. I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable or anything. Unless you’re actually into that.”

          “Wait,” Adam said quickly, moving towards Xander and putting a hand on his arm to stop him from leaving. “I’m sorry about my rusty flirting skills, I... haven’t done this in a while,” he admitted with a crooked smile. “But I like you. Really.”

& ELLIE‌:

Hues of orange and pink painted the sky as the sun began to see over East End. Ellie’d spent most of the day with friends, playing games and day drinking — actually having a good time. But, now as her stomach growled she was on a mission to find food, crystalline orbs scanning the various festival eateries. “What do you think,” she asked the person standing closest to her. “Nachos, Loaded Pulled Pork Cheese Fries, or Pizza?”

           Adam was starving, and what better way to help out with that than to find some good food at one of the many stands at the festival? It was a tough time to decide on something though, eyes wandering from one option to the next before a voice close to him caught his attention. “Wow, that’s a tough decision,” he mused, head tilting to the side. “I might... go for the Loaded Fries. Those sound amazing, I might get some myself.”

& HENRIK‌:

“Amen to that.” He smirks, nursing his drink. Henrik sober is antisocial, Henrik buzzed is the opposite. “I’m a prospecting alcoholic, but what’s your reason to dull the mind and senses?” He asks, “Too jolly of an occasion for you too?”

              “A prospecting alcoholic? I’ve never heard that before, but it’s a nice way to put it,” Adam chuckled, shaking his head a little. “Maybe, yeah. Or maybe I’ve just been too sober for too long now -- some alcohol seems like just what I need to feel better.”
