How to Use ADB Download
Android Debug Bridge also known as ADB download is a very useful tool for android device users. Because it is a three-in-one installer. It assists you to install ADB, Fastboot and drivers. Therefore you do not need to download big software development kit for these three functions. You can simply use ADB download for your requirement.
Current version is ADB download v1.4.2. This is a free tool and it will install in 15 seconds. It is very easy to follow the installation steps in the ADB Installer setup. ADB download is only 9.18 MB file.
After you download ADB on to your PC you can install it on the PC. ADB download can automatically decide whether it should install 32-bit version or 64-bit version, according to your operating system. You do not need to select it manually. By default the ADB and Fastboot are installed in to a directory named “%SystemDrive%\adb”. And also a system wide path is added to this folder. Since this is only for the current user, the ADB and Fastboot are also installed in to a directory named “%UserProfile%\adb”. If your operating system is Windows 8.1, then you must have KB2917929 update installed on your PC. Automatically almost all the necessary drivers are install separately to respective directories, you should not worry about it. You can access ADB and Fastboot via command prompt from any system directory.
Step-by-Step installation guide for ADB Download v 1.4.2
1. ADB Download should be downloaded on to your computer. It is better to download the latest version 1.4.2.
2. Then go to the downloaded directory, select
“adb-setup-1.4.2.exe”
file and double click on it.
3. You will be asked “Do you want to install ADB and Fastboot? (Y/N)”. So you have to press on
“Y”
key to proceed.
4. Again you will be asked
“Install ADB system-wide? (Y/N)”
. So you have to press on
“Y”
key to proceed.
5. A message will appear as
“Installing ADB and Fastboot … (system-wide), 4 file(s) copied.”
6. Again you will be asked
“Do you want to install device drivers? (Y/N)”
. So you have to press on
“Y”
key to proceed.
7. After that ADB download set up will open. Click on
“Next”
button to initiate the installation process.
8. After installing ADB download you have to click on
“Finish”
button to close the set up.
