Social media is bringing us all closer
The recent events in Gezi park, people on both sides are talking. Government has no control over it. Just downloaded vine and have to say at first I didn't get it. Actually, 6 seconds of video and sound can make compelling content. How will brands use this? Facebook is here to stay. It's a great way to stay in touch with family and friends. Instragram bridges the two. Who thought just 2 years ago Twitter was pointlesss....we had FB we there was no use. Suprisingly Twitter is an increasingly part of my life. It helps me stay on top of what's going on in the world.... It's also a place I go to for ideas and inspiration from amazing people. Time to go to the gym. Take care, Adem
New Years Resolutions...
Missed our exit on the highyway, ended up in NYC....Why not visit the Tree
You ain't down with this .... 11PM just picked up my button ups... what what!
DashLocker is a pretty kick ass start-up in NYC that's innovating in the dry cleaning business... The founder Robert Hennessy founded Dashlocker as a 24/7 dry-cleaning and wash and fold laundry service that is self serve where you can drop off and pickup of dry cleaning anytime of the day.
Dropping off at a DashLocker location begins with swiping your credit card at an unmanned locker storefront, just like an ATM at the Bank. Cleaning is picked up and processed at a separate facility and is returned back within 24 hours. When you’re laundry is ready you’ll get a text or an email to let you know.
DashLocker inventories each article of clothing with a photo of each article of clothing -Â Pretty smart... No?
Henness left his job at a hedge fund firm to open up a 24 hr coin operated laundromat in Brooklyn… which he noticed that majority of the machines were unused in the late night hours…. And that’s when genius struck.
Location Location Location.... It’s been all about convenience, I’m sure if you’re a an office guy or gal drying cleaning is commonly on the two list. Every neighborhood needs a good dry cleaner, or two. He's turning over an efficiency driven business and re-defineing some of the rules.
Traditionally, dry cleaners operate a really lean efficient model of having satellite stores that send the dry cleaning back to the cleaning facility, which is by the way also a drop of location. All locations generally have a couple people on the payroll to serve customers... along with packing, sorting, prepping the dry cleaning in laundry bags for the delivery van to bring back to cleaning location.
Why does this work?
There’s no bigger pain in the ass than running to pick up the dry cleaning before an event....In a city like Manhattan is the city that pretty much everything is open 24-hours, why not dry-cleaners.
DashLocker sales are showing significant growth in their NYC locations. Its bright idea and concept that makes life easier for many on the go city dwellers. Certainly I’m betting this concept will disrupt the dry cleaning business, in metropolitan areas to begin with, but down the line I’m seeing the 20 somethings of today much rather preferring the anytime accessibility.
Betting this concept will continue to show amazing growth in 2013 and in the years to come….
A little video from their website...
