“Call Me Wealth” — a zine I made at @fourplusfour.world ‘Say My Name’ workshop on names, power + identity ★

My biggest takeaway from the workshop was that names really do impact how we experience the world, and how the world experiences us. Given or chosen, our names hold power and we have the ability to embody that meaning for ourselves.

Nigerian City Girl

When someone tries to label you, put it on a dress :~P lol maybe I am a Nigerian City Girl (in any city), and what about it? At the end of the day, I’m never one thing that someone else has made up, I’m only ever my Self and that may mean different things at different times. Maybe some people don’t understand what duality is, and maybe they’re actually afraid of it, but their shame cannot be projected on to me because I choose to embrace the totality of my being #GodLovesCityGirls <3
