“I’m fine -- I promise. I’m just....tired I guess.”
I have to go, like, the entire weekend without knowing whether ‘ve graduated or not, ‘s gonna kill me.
“You better have. We spent all damn weekend studying.”
“I’m sorry you’re not as blessed as me. Shit happens, I guess.” She said in a shrug, not trying to get in yet another fight today. “But, if you’re looking for a fight, I am not the one. I was just expressing how I felt about this prison we all call school.”
“Well I don’t have a whiny voice with an equally annoying personality. So I’d consider myself pretty blessed. You’re old enough to drop out. Office is downstairs. You hate it here so much? Leave.”
“I always leave this god damn place with a headache.” She spoke referring to the school. “The teachers are so annoying, ‘do this, so that’. How about no? I don’t have the time for your dumbass work. Don’t you know who I am? I’m going to pay you off at the end of the year to pass me anyway, so just shut up already.”
Adrian rolled her eyes and slammed her book shut loudly, causing other members of the library to look over at her. Her efforts to drain out the girl next to her were useless. “I can’t fucking take this anymore! Shut the fuck up. I couldn’t give a fuck less about your education or the struggles of a privileged snob. Just shut the hell up.” She shouted through a whisper, earning some shushes.
Or we can, like, not. ‘M too broke right now to look at anything, Christmas’ killing me.
“We don’t have to buy anything. Just look. Besides Santa will get you what you want.” She laughed, grabbing her keys and walking to the door. “C’mon, Dane. I’ll drag you if need be.”
Reading the letter her Father had sent her, River shook her head and a small laugh escaped her laugh. “Fucking dick.” She whispered. Her attention absorbed in the piece of paper, and not at all on the person that had joined her. “Oh, sorry.” River replied, offering a sympathetic smile.
“You’re fine.” Adrian said, looking over at the distraught blonde. “Are you okay though?” She asked.
“Your answer to four and seven were wrong,” Jacob said to the person next to him just after the bell rang, regretting it. “Sorry-I mean, you’ll still pass,”
Adrian looked over to the boy across from her and then back down at her own sheet. “What?”
“How was I supposed to know that?” Tiana said with almost no emotion in her voice, even though Adrian didn’t seem like she was trying to start anything Tiana was taught to always keep her guard up around people she didn’t trust. “Well that’s always been the plan.”
“That’s true.” She said, understanding Tiana’s point. “I’m sure you’d make plenty of money. I’m sure if you went to the least fashionable people in school and charged them fifty dollars for service, they’d be willing to pay.”
“You look fierce —I like it. Which jacket are you looking for?”
“The black one behind you.”
“I don’t know what to tell you.”
“I’m sorry I asked you to come over.” She said, turning her back to him in order to make herself look busy and bothered. “You can go, I think I can find my jacket on my own. Thanks though.”
danejfc:
You look really good.
“Thank you, babe.” Adrian smiled, rustling his hair some. “So while we’re at the mall we can look at that store you said you liked.”
“I- you know what never mind.” Tiana took a deep breath calming herself. Adrian didn’t even say anything that bad thee girl just got under her skin and almost every little snide remark irritated her. “You’re welcome.” She said calmly.
“I’m fucking with you, Tiana. Jesus.” Adrian chuckled while rolling her eyes. She knew Tiana had no idea because they didn’t have that type of relationship, but Adrian was in no mood for fighting. “You could make a lot of money being people’s personal stylists.” She suggest honestly.
“Then I don’t know what you want me to do.”
“I want you to want to talk to me. I don’t want to force you to be my friend.”
“Do you usually go there?”
“We used to fly out when I lived in Miami.” She said through a sigh. “We don’t have to do this, Luke. Small talk isn’t my thing.”
“Aw, what have you been sick with?” The girl said with a pout. “Oh right you’re having that party thing.. Are you doing anything special the 24th?”
“Stomach aches. Constant and non stop too. I’m better now though.” She reassured her. “Yeah -- family just loves coming in. I’m probably just doing nothing all day. Why?”
