had a dream last night that my alarm was connected to twitter and everytime i hit snooze it publicly tweeted it with a disparaging little message along the lines of “filthy horrible boy has slapped the screen again, and slumbers on” so that your followers could shame you and i was deeply, DEEPLY humiliated but that did not stop me from hitting snooze upwards of 14 times

crazy to think that I made this blog when I was a junior in college taking basically my first programming class

its like a time capsule

scavenger hunt ideas for your codebase:

oldest //TODO

//TODO left by someone who is no longer at the company

code written by senior leadership while they were an IC (bonus points for c-suite!)

code that needs a paragraph long comment to explain what it does

code that has a sentence long comment along the lines of "this is magic, do not touch"

code that is self aware of how bad it is (eg: variable named "doHackyWorkaroud")

most used param / function that has a typo
