Sometimes, when Bash got hungry, he went to the kitchens instead of asking a servant for food. The atmosphere there was nice, and it was all so simple. Soon, the bastard would be legitimized, and he needed to be reminded of simplicity. Most people there were so happy, they didn't feel the need to make a drama out of everything. So after all of those boring complaints he had to listen to all day before his father came back, he went there, with a smile on his face.
As soon as he stepped in, he recognized one of the people in there. Greer, Mary's lady-in-waiting. Maybe she could be getting something for the young queen, although that was a servant's job. "Hello, Greer," he said, grabbing an apple and taking a seat next to her. "If you don't mind me asking, what are you doing here?"

With everything that had been going on these past few days, Bash decided he needed some air. It was hard to convince Alec to let him go out alone, but after a while, the bastard finally managed to. After all, it had been a few days since anyone had attempted to take away his life. Not to mention the fact that he knew how to handle himself with a sword. Not as well as his guard, true, but well enough. Heading to the stables, he decided to do something he hadn't done in a long time, and certainly missed.
Horseback riding. It had been a while since he did it simply to have some fun. It had been a while since he had some proper fun. Now he understood why Francis had always envied his freedom. Sometimes, Bash wished Nostradamus would have never told that prophecy. The bastard still couldn't decide if getting a girl was worth seeing his brother so mad at him. With all these thoughts in his head, he almost didn't see a blonde girl who stood backwards, and did not seem to listen to the horse. As soon as he realized she was there, he stopped abruptly. "I'm sorry, my Lady," he said, even though there had been nothing to be sorry for.
Eilis snapped her head up and looked at the man, seeing that he wasn't just any man, he was the bastard, the bastard to be king. The bastard who was turning monarchy and the world upside down on their heads. She didn't know what to do exactly, she hadn't had much but laid eyes on him let alone socially engage with him and from what Mary and the others had said he preferred to keep every bit of normalcy that he had before the transition so she didn't curtsy or make any sort of submissive or humble gesture, she just looked at him for a moment before opening her mouth to speak.
"I'm aware, It's something I don't usually do just when my head is somewhere else. I used to do this when I was a child but i'm sure you aren't interested in that."
She wasn't very superstitious but she was naive when she was very young so not stepping on a crack was something of a habit but it broke not long after it started and it would sometimes appear when she was taking a walk or deeply in thought.
It did not take long until Bash recognized the girl as Mary's new lady-in-waiting. As for her name, he was not sure, since they had not been properly introduced before. He could tell she knew he did not want her to treat him as a king, and thanked Mary in his head for that. The bastard had never been very fond of titles. Whenever someone would call him Lord he would just tell them not to, his name, after all, was simply Sebastian. And now he would be King. This way it would certainly be harder to tell people not to call him by his title.
"I guess I know how you feel, but please, do tell." He said, genuinely interested to know if there was a story behind that. After all of those boring problems he had to hear all day, something a little bit more entertaining would not hurt.
Bash had been so busy lately that he missed just stopping by the hallways to talk to someone. It was a great way to get to known people who worked and lived in the castle. Not the he did it often, but it was fun. All people had at least one interesting story to tell, and he really wanted to listen to one right now, even if why someone did not step in cracks didn't seem like the most interesting story, he was so bored that he would listen to anything that wasn't a complaint.

—Before she even had a chance to respond to the royal’s question, they were running. She fell into sync with him, easily keeping up pace. How would one even begin to explain that she had been on her way home when her friend, Castiel, an angel of the lord, has zapped her back in time for whatever reason he chose? Surely she could convince Bash she wasn’t crazy and get home safe and sound.
"You’ll think I’m freakin’ crazy if I answered that question." She remarked, looking over her shoulder back at the woods behind them. Whatever paranormal had done that was surely something she hadn’t encountered. If the people…or thing had come after her, Griff would’ve been equipped for a fight, but not well enough.
"This is going to sound even weirder but what year is it?" The huntress asked, giving him a sheepish smile.
"Crazy?" He asked her with a shaky breath. "I've seen a lot of crazy things, my Lady. Maybe you should try me." And indeed he had. Coming from a family of pagans, he always saw them practicing religion, and that would most definitely sound crazy to any catholic he knew. His mother's religion was pretty odd, with all of their rituals and, in some parts of it, sacrifices. But most of them were just people who praised different Gods, it wasn't as wrong as the Church claimed it to be. But of course, he would never dare to say that out loud. Especially now that he was so close to being King.
"Year?" His tone was confused. Perhaps this girl was crazy after all. Or she had simply hit her head too hard. "It's 1557. Why the question?" They were almost out of the woods, and hopefully Bash wouldn't have to say the words. Not that he was pagan, but if anyone found out his roots, there was no chance of him getting even close to the throne. There was a chance that the girl was working for Queen Catherine, and only there to bring his attention. Not that she would trust someone who looked so much like Mary.
I wanna know what people assume about me because of my tumblr.
Put an assumption in my ask. I’ll confirm or dispute it. I’m not gonna be mean or anything, I’m just very interested.

ñ - What is your ultimate OTP, broTP and nOTP?
I have a lot, but currently I guess my ultimate OTP would be Melchior and Wendla, from Spring Awakening, my broTP Scott and Stiles, from Teen Wolf, and my nOTP Harry and Hermione, from Harry Potter (no, I totally did not say that because of what JKR said about them).
▒ - Do you need certain things to help you sleep (nightlight, fan, stuffed animal or blanket)?
No, not really. I can literally sleep anywhere, once I even slept on the floor with no blanket and no pillows. But when I was little I would choose a different stuffed animal each night (although they would end up on the floor).
ß - Mun's thoughts on muse?
Oh, Bash. I admire him so, so much. Definitely one of my all time favorite fictional characters. He’s really brave, he has an incredible sense of humor, and he’s got incredible family values, which I strongly admire, because it’s something I need to work on myself. He just doesn’t care what people say about him anymore, he knows he’s a bastard, and he’s content with being one. To him, it’s not something to be ashamed of. Bash is my complete opposite, which is why sometimes I have to think replies through and through, but I think that’s what makes it so great. I could have chosen a character I completely related to, but instead I chose the one I’d like to be able to relate to. With him, I can be a different person, which is what I need most of the time. In conclusion, I absolutely love Bash and I’d love to share his values, but while I don’t, I’ll just pretend I do.
How many times had she paced the corridor outside her chambers this day alone? Even a castle the size of the one that held French Court got boring after a time. Mary had thought that after spending most of her life either pampered in royalty or hidden away in the nun’s convent, she would eventually accept that fact that she would never escape the walls that housed her. What would life be like in one of the villages, she wondered. She had never even been allowed a proper visit to one of the French villages.
In short, Mary was suffering from cabin fever.
She forced her stride to a halt before one of the large windows, thrown open in an attempt to bring in some fresh air. It wasn’t enough and Mary found her palms braced against the stone sill, the upper portion of her body hanging outside the boundary of the castle. So caught up was in she in her attempt to determine just how far away she could see from such a vantage point, she did not register the other presence until it was beside her.
Her hands nearly slipped in her surprise and she scrambled to right herself. “Bash!” She was certain her cheeks were flushed with humiliation for being caught doing something so foolish. “I didn’t expect to see you up here so soon— I thought you still had complaints to deal with in the throne room.”
Nobody told Bash just how boring being a regent was. Of course, he knew it was a great responsibility, but as he sat there and listened to the people complain, he felt like sleeping. Some had important issues, but others were only idiots who did not know how to deal with their own problems. His father was a saint to deal with all of that and not end up beheading anyone. Maybe he was exaggerating, but still, he knew that if he heard one more complaint he would lose it. With that he announced that it was enough for the day. And to think that when he became King, it would be like this every day.
Not long after he walked out, Bash saw Mary's figure. Without a word, he walked up to her, and stood by his fiancée's side. "Mary," he smiled, looking at her red cheeks. "I left earlier. You know how boring I find these things." Eventually, he would have to learn how to live with it, Francis must have found it boring too when he was only a child, but while his father was absent, the complaints would have to end earlier.

"I’ll always be happy with you as long as your safe" she said looking to him smiling softly" Plus you will make a great king no matter what francis says”
"I'm sorry," he said. "I know how much my brother meant to you." There was some sadness in his voice. Bash and Mary definitely had something, but it felt like it wasn't as strong as what Francis and Mary had. "I doubt that I'll make a good king, but thank you for the vote of confidence."

I’ll finish my replies later because I have a friend over and she just woke up, but since I haven’t done this in a long time, like this if you want a starter?
With a smile Gabrielle returned the hug before taking a step back from him. “It would appear I am now a princess,” she replied. “I am not quite sure what to think it all has happened so quickly. But I can assume that father will have marriage plans in the works for me. I’ve heard princess make for good political wives,” she stated, trying not to sound too bitter. That was her biggest fear, especially after learning that her half sister had been married off to some Spanish prince for a simple alliance.
"But enough about my feeling for the whole situation. What do you think? You are going to be king, and you are going to marry Mary. That is a pretty big change, especially since Catherine was trying to have you executed," Gabrielle stated as she sat down on the rock he had been sitting on before. "You should tell me all about what you’ve been learning in your king training."
Suddenly, Bash remembered why his sister had come back to court in first place. She needed a husband. As soon as she became a princess, it would be even easier for our father to find her one. "Maybe you could talk him out of it. Not that it would be easy, you know how far father would go in order to get what he wants," he said with a somewhat bitter chuckle, referring to the situation he had found himself in just so that the King could have England. At least Sebastian ended up with somebody he loved, there was a huge chance that Gabrielle wouldn't have the same luck. That was not what he wanted for his own sister.
"It really is a big change. Now I can't go anywhere without a guard. That is truly wonderful," his tone was sarcastic. Having someone following him around, ready to kill anything that could threaten his life really wasn't re-assuring. He honestly did not know how important people could just walk around knowing that someone could just randomly attempt to take away their lives. "You don't want to know what I've been learning, trust me. It's all boring and politics. And I can't even begin to describe how annoying it is to sit down and listen to all of those people's problems. Being king just isn't for me."
It was almost as she had pictured it would be. Tremendous castle, posh court, handsome noblemen, festivities, fellow ladies in waiting that slightly resented her presence, It would be interesting, a challenge, a new chapter. Not only was she here at court as the queen’s newest lady in waiting but to also marry, and marry well, form a unity of wealth and alliance.
Eilis gently ran her fingers against the stone work along the castle walls as she ventured into the many corridors. There was no specific destination that she wished to reach, she just wanted some exploration and distance from the ladies.
Her head hung low as she watched the tile disappear and reappear from under her gown as she passed by, being careful to avoid stepping on any cracks.
The last few days had been crazy for Bash. The Bastard would soon become the King of Scotland, and after his father died, of France. It was more than he ever hoped—let alone wished—for, but it would happen, anyway. Saving his brother's life could be worth listening to all of those stupid complaints, but he was worried that he wouldn't learn how to become a proper king in time. Maybe he could try to learn and like it, but all he wanted at the moment was for Francis to forgive him. It wouldn't be easy, Bash knew that, but despite all of the jokes and fights, he loved his brother dearly.
Other than his brother's safety, the only good thing coming out of that was getting to marry Mary. As much as he was excited about that, it didn't feel right. That was no way to win a girl, it was not fair, especially not to Francis. Not that he had any other choice with a queen. It was all just happening too fast, it was a lot of information to take in.
Walking around the castle, Bash saw a redhead with her head hanging low and carefully walking. For some reason, that scene amused him. "Nothing happens if you step on the cracks, if that's what you're worried about," he said with a grin.
