Meetings
This past week I was involved in two meetings. Two FIVE HOUR meetings...with a board member and company president.
This felt more exhausting than any physical task....it was amazing how this could be.
Keeping friends
During my last semester of college I worked in a external research position (externship?) for independent research credit.
During this time I had a super cool supervisor.
After this time, we became bestest of friends.
He worked elsewhere nearby doing the similar types of things as I did in my nearby new salaried job, except he was all sage and wise and expert (still is, of course.)
Then, crazy shit went down, like for realz, almost a miniature anarchy/coup d' etat type deal, and board members came in and tried to restore order or something. My head is still reeling, and I am still baffled.
Then my previous internship supervisor who became best friend was about to become my supervisor again.
I fretted intensely over this, wondering if I would end up losing my best friend, what was going to happen.
So far, nothing much has changed. BFF/supervisor is only around 2 days a week, so I mostly do my thing, keep him informed, but I always told him everything anyway, so nothing new there.
Packing extra pants and undies probably means you should take the day off.
I almost never vomit. I haven't vomited in years - therefore, when I felt the need to vomit recently one morning, I panicked, not knowing if I'd be able to. Do I even remember how to vomit? Is it going to hurt? etc.
My stomach just wasn't right.
Something about the immense amount of spicy chicken curry the night before? Not sure, but it looked and smelled the same coming out .... + a little hydrochloric acid.
So I'm vomiting, and feel the need to empty the other end at the same time. This never goes well.
I felt better almost immediately after this, but had to keep running to the bathroom unexpectedly to crap my guts out.
But I just WASN'T sick enough to stay home.
So I packed extra pants and undies.... and it was only at this moment that I was like "what the fuck? this probably means I should stay home...what has happened to me? Who sucked my soul out and replaced it with this machine I am now?"
The pooping resided and I felt mostly normal the rest of the day. Extra underwear were not necessary.
