She glanced up as her question was greeted by silence and caught the other woman’s nod, a sign for her to go on. The goddess hesitated for a moment. Eventually she reached out for the other woman’s hand, gave it a gentle squeeze before bringing it up to her lips to place a light kiss on the back of it. Once again a soft sigh escaped her lips, only this time one of bliss. And yet a small part of her was anxious to tell her the news…

Slowly Sigyn turned to face Lauren; a warm smile curved her lips. “Sváss…”, she paused but for a moment. “I am with child. Twins.”

Lauren wasn't sure she'd heard correctly at first, but the way Sigyn looked at her now proved that she had, and the shock in her expression was obvious.  "...what?"

Sigyn breathed a scarcely audible sigh of discontent in return and averted her eyes. The corners of her mouth twitched, ever so little, as she considered her next words. “Does your tight time table at least allow you to listen to what I have to tell you?”

She blinked, opened her mouth to reply, then closed it and nodded in silence instead.

The face you hide behind is not very threatening, not that i fear what might be hiding behind such soulless eyes. If I were in fact the prey, I have no more fear left to give. I find myself busy these days but for a moment I will allow this, Passing thought. Come to think of it, I too just had a thought. All the snow has passed away, just as the dark cloud who brought it. Big words for a little man.

“He does, actually.  We each have our dalliances,” she replied with a small shrug and a smile that said she was in no way bothered by the situation or the line of questioning.  She understood that not everyone had the same ideals about these things.  

“No, he and I, we are committed to each other for all eternities, but I feel sorry for those who can’t find that if they’re looking for it.”

"Or those found by it who would not seek it at all," Lauren commented quietly.  Her gaze became distant, her expression softened, and she hesitated before continuing in a calm tone.  "My woman has stood by me through far too much.  I...don't always understand it, but I at times wish I could express the gratitude it causes me to feel."

Lauren is new to wearing make up.  Sometimes she overdoes it, and sometimes she forgets entirely.  She's also been known to walk around the apartment topless without a second thought whether the windows are open or not.

“I rent a room for me and my heterosexual lifemate,” she teased back, although in reality that was entirely truthful but you wouldn’t know it from her tone.  ”It’s a mix of everyone, really.  People come and go out of that place, but as long as we all do our part, we’re welcome.  I’ve got the basement bedroom, so it’s definitely out of the way.  Private,” she added, being reassuring, since she wasn’t sure how blatant Lauren would like to be.  Amara was more than willing to eat her out against the kitchen counter, but bedrooms were nice, too.

"And yet you would lie with another?  Does your mate share your thoughts?   I've found they often don't in these situations," Lauren commented.  "It can be...frustrating."

„Give your body a chance to heal properly,” Sigyn spoke under her breath, a soft sigh escaping her lips as she proceeded to replace the pulled stitches. It was by far not the worst sight she had ever seen but it made her remember… She gave her head a slight shake and glanced up into Lauren’s face pointedly.

"My body?" Lauren snapped, her voice practically a his.  "My body has been through far worse.  This, it can easily weather."  She turned her piercing blue eyes to catch sight of Sigyn's for a moment, holding her gaze almost defiantly, but after a moment the stubborn expression faded.   "I have no time for healing, you know this."

“Supposed immortals, yes. Balder. Loki, if you asked him, would say he’s immortal. Yet he’s dead.”

"I suppose it stands to reason that immortals can kill other immortals," she commented, shrugging.

“Good to…know? Thanks.” Her nose wrinkled briefly. “Sorry to say you don’t really remind me of anyone I know.” Though that probably had something to do with the fact she didn’t know many people.

"Oddly enough, to me that's a compliment right now," Lauren assured her.  "So where are you from?  What brings you to New York?"
