you guys broke my loki
What are your true intentions with Loki? What do you wish to see happen to him?
"I have not lied in saying that I did it because I fear his plots and retaliation. I did do it to protect you, to protect Asgard, and all that we love dear."
"But I also cannot deny I in no small part did it for myself. I want to make my accusals in court. I want him to know the gravity of what he did to me and for Asgard to see those dark truths. By every old right I should be granted retaliation for what he did to me. " Her voices trembled there, louder than she wished with still raw hurt. She breathed. Sif quieted herself.
"...I want justice, Thor. Do I not deserve it?
so while seeing Thor 2 tonight with my Thor (for the third time omg yes we're those fans) my Loki revealed to me why he let himself get imprisoned. And holy shit it goes way back to his Thanos days and I am so excited, you guys have no idea, because this little fucker has been leading up to it all without me realizing it.
He writes himself, and that's kind of scary.
Thor...
"There is something we need speak about."
[closed to replies unless you talk to sif or thor about visiting him]
"Were you all truly foolish enough to think me capable of death? I am disappointed with the majority of you."
the theory
She was rarely so hesitant around the Queen.
Long had Frigga been a soothing presence to Sif. Another mother, although she certainly had plenty of her own. Frigga may have been the mother to her best friends instead but that only meant Sif often falling close as they all went on adventures or got caught in young mischief. Frigga always seemed to have a smile to give, a hand to put on shoulder and Sif cherished the closeness.
Right until moments like these where she dreaded that familiarity. Dreaded how well she knew her and how poor Sif was at hiding her emotions.
"What troubles you dear? Is it my son again?"
Sif glanced down and blinked away the thought, "No, he is still off on his wanderings and I know he shall be back in his time." Not that the waiting did not carry its own hurts, but Sif was perhaps too used to them. "No...I have much less glad news. Or more a question perhaps..." To broach the topic should be done with care. Done with gentleness.
Sif was no queen of words.
"I have reason to believe Loki may be alive."
Only after did she look up. The near soft-spoken words felt a blasphemy. Never before had she voiced them. Now they laid spoken and if she was wrong Sif would be responsible for so much more pain in her Queen.
"And what might this knowledge be?" Sif could near feel the hesitancy in her voice. But Frigga's calmness, her fortitude, her wisdom, were full as ever.
Sif admired it.
"I've found.." she swallowed. "There's a woman. She's not - not quite mortal. It's...I swear I can almost feel his magic. I know what this must sound like," a plea rose in her voice, "But I've been searching the prophecies, I've been reading the tales...he's not meant to die. He told me so himself before this passed." It was ill formed argument, but she had her sincerity and her truth and she could hope they be seen.
Frigga laid a hand over hers.
"You will start at the beginning, and we shall decide together."
Sif drew a full breath in. "Of course. My suspicions began..."

The thought had been so vague at first. An itch that had refused to go away, slow growing to something she couldn't ignore. She had paged through book after book of prophecy and story, spoken quietly to certain powers, prodded at edges and tried to feel it all out in her twisted heart. Over time the link became clear. The meetings had garnered subtle proof and brought itch to her skin. She had delved deeper. She had to be sure.
Now she felt ready.
She'd spent so much time of late trying to tap into her powers that it was all easier now. Her efforts in travel seemed to have awoken more than one of her; Sif perhaps felt more Asgardian than ever among this mortal realm. Something set apart. But the tracking was easier than at any time before, not that these things were ever so hard for their kind.
Their kind. Yes, her mind was resolved it seemed.
She knew the feel of Lauren's ('Lauren'. Loki? her mind still had trouble choosing terms) presence by now, the few meetings gave enough to ground the warrior's searches. Sif came ready, came with sword hidden under coat, mail and light plate beneath her mortal garments, and more knives than should be allowed.
Winding through the park laid her calm even as she drew closer to where the feeling called out to her. Maybe it was all her mind, maybe she was only desperate to know what happened to him and so imagined that old presence she knew so well. The right scent of magic. It was clouded, certainly, but it was close, nearer than any other she had come upon.
Sif smiled when she saw her, playing the part as best she could. "Lauren, what a surprise."
