Tiom sat inside his study, staring blankly out the window. The events of the last few weeks had not only turned his world upside, but ripped it apart and set it aflame, burning away just as Teldrassil had. He moved quicked, following Vladimir’s orders to help the survivors, to see them to safety. As he gathered those who remained aboard one of the many ships that came to Darkshore, he looked up at the hellfire, and he know that Sarahni had gone there to help, to see as many as she could to safety.
As the Alliance forces were called upon to stage the attack on Lordaeron, Tiom made his way north with the Reivers, as well as Sarahni. She was quiet throughout the journey. When they made camp, she sat quietly looking into the fire. He sat upon his horse next to her before they charged, all of the Holt bannerman and their soldiers, the many Stormwind soldiers, into a battle that was most uncertain. The things the Banshee Queen released upon them was only from the minds of the most wicked. Lordaeron no longer belonged to the Horde, but it was laid to waste, blight being the only citizen of the once great city.
Tioms wounds were minor, relatively speaking, when compared to the many who were maimed, and especially when compared to those who met their demise, but when he saw Sarahni upon the docks at Stormwind, only the worst thoughts came to mind. Thankfully, she was alive, but without consciousness. With the aid of Khemra and some diligent medics, they were able to wake her, even get her home so she could rest properly.
At night Tiom laid without sleep while his wife tossed and turned next to him. What she witnessed was eating her alive, and their disconnect was only growing.
“We made so many plans, but I cannot be the woman you need me to be” she spoke softly to him, days later upon the edge of the harbors overlook. “You will only be seconded to this war...even third or fourth..” The words stung, but he married a soldier. He knew her heart, and as much as he wanted to argue, he knows she would not speak these words if her mind weren’t completely made.
“I will give you your space, then.” he said, turning away before she spoke softly again. “Tiom..” he turned to see her hand stretched towards him. He raised his hand to meet hers as she opened her hand, placing her ring in the palm of her hand. He looked down at it, and when he looked back up to her, she had gone.
Now Tiom sat inside of Forlorn Grove, it’s emptiness consuming, the silence drowning.
