Prompt: It was time. He fought against this for a long time.
Fandom: Percy Jackson
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was over. It had been over for a long time; but sometimes, Percy thinks Luke was right.
Luke died a long time ago, and that was it, people grieved, gossiped, then it was over. But sometimes, alone, Percy thinks Luke was right.
He understands that the gods aren't all bad, after all, he had seen so much of the good, especially in Hestia and Poseidon. And yet, he also sees all the bad.
One day- years after Luke died- Percy comes home from a fight, and his first thought is “This could have been avoided”
And that's the problem, he realizes, talking with Mr. D. Mr D amplifies what is wrong with all of the gods. He cares for the demigods (though he might not show it) but he does not care enough to step in, to help. The gods care from afar, and are so out of touch with us, with humans. All of this could be avoided. All the human deaths, all the Demigod deaths, it could have been avoided. Yet the gods do nothing about it.
Percy knows that Luke was “the bad guy” but the more he thinks about it, he comes to the conclusion that Luke was right. Sure, not about all of it, but at the base, his core beliefs in the gods were correct.
And that is where it starts.
He does not say anything to anyone, of course he doesn’t. But Percy thinks. And then- he observes. People think he is oblivious, stupid, and Percy uses that to his advantage. HE listens, plants seeds in people's minds, and eventually, he is rewarded.
Annabeth doesn’t agree. The gods are the only family she knows, and she can’t bear to part with them. They fight about it once; a huge, explosive fight that ends in yelling and tears- They don't talk about it again, and they slowly drift away.
Percy would never dream of working with monsters, that's the opposite of his goal.
All he wants is to protect people; protect his people.
and, he was always going to be the bad guy- at least to the gods. From his first time at camp, the prophesy, he was always going to be the bad guy.
And so he plans, strategizes, debates, until he finally has a plan.
And finally, he presents it and rallies the demigods.
And together, they

Prompt: Darkness My Old Friend: What is hiding in the shadows?
Fandom: ROTG (Jack & Pitch)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jack takes a steadying breath, enjoying the scenery as he walks along. It is winter again, and the snow glistens white in the sun, almost blinding. The children play on the lake, and Jack recognizes many of them. He made an effort to remember the kids of his first believers, and eventually their kids. Lots of time has passed, but he still remembers his first- and really only believers.
Eventually, night sets in, and Jack settles in for a peaceful night.
He is interrupted from his thoughts by a voice, one he had not heard in a long time
“Forgotten again” Pitch observes, looking the winter spirit over. “Such a shame, we could have worked well together.”
Jack laughs, tipping his head back. He knew what was coming, he had felt it coming for a long time now, but it was just getting worse. It seems there is no need for him anymore.
He looks at pitch, and takes in his skeletal form, the absence of shadows following his every move.
“You are fading as well,” Jack realizes in wonder, and then laughs, “Both cold and darkness, now rendered obsolete”
Pitch straightens up “I am nowhere near fading,” he objects, “The world will always have darkness.”
Jack stands up slowly, leaning against a tree and using it for support. “And the world will always have cold.” He steps closer to pitch.
“And yet, the world is getting lighter, warmer, and new spirits are always popping up.”
He smirks, looking up at his old enemy “It seems you are being replaced”
And Pitch sighs, knowing he is right, before sitting down.
“You know,” he muses “It really is such a shame. We could have done so much together”

Prompt: Memory Lane: A character looks back on the things they've done.
Character: Silco (arcane)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Perhaps he should regret it. In fact, that's probably what any sane person would do. But, he had always seen this coming.
From the moment he took her in, he knew she would be the death of him-although admittedly, this is not how he thought it would go.
From the moment he decided to take her home, he knew his life was changed unequivocally.
Silco did not have a big heart, but he loved two things. He loved his people, and he loved Jinx.
And oh- how he loved his people, how he loved his city. With all the unsavory, there were good things too, patches of light shining through all the shimmer and smog.
And he knows that the people do not love him as he loves them. But that is because he does what he has to do, for the good of the people- What vander could never do. Because they would never be free, so long as they were under piltover's control.
And what is the life of a couple compared to the life of many?
The life of one now, saving hundreds in future generations?
Yes, he just did what he had to save his people.
But still, despite everything- Jinx came first.
Jinx, his wonderful,Inventive, Neurotic daughter.
She could be a true leader of the people, a revolutionary-if she wished.
She could be anything she wanted- He would make sure of it.
He knows she gets lost sometimes, in the voices, the nightmares, the violence. But she is a bright mind, and she is HIS daughter.
He raised her, shaped her into the person she is today. The wonderful, terrifying, smart person she is.
And she is so different from when he first met her. She is strong, and she believes in herself. Gone is the meek little girl- and in her place, a young woman that would let the world burn to get what she wants.
He raised her, and she is just what Zaun needs. She was the last piece of the puzzle, the final key to their independence. Just as he had raised her to be.
She would make sure they get their peace, and she would make sure they keep it.
She was his successor, and they were going to make the world burn-together.
And oh, he wishes that he could undo this, even if only to spare her the pain.
But it was written in his destiny that he would die by her hands, or he would die for her.
And he cannot fault her.
Would he not do the same? Both of their mistrust runs so deep that there is no hope of healing the cracks made in their hearts.
And Silco mourns, not for himself, but for what he knows this will do to Jinx.
And he knows she did not mean it, when she finally comes back to herself, he knows she will be distraught. But he can not find it in himself to be upset, or angry.
It is part of her nature, and an integral part of her being- It is the reason Silco first picked her up, the reason he molded her into who she is today.
