Student Tips By A Student: Self Care
2020 has been incredibly stress inducing. School only piles on top of that. Finals and midterms are coming up soon as well. Scrambling to get any sort of studying in, is probably everyone's priority at the moment.
But please, make sure you take care of yourself.
Some ways you can do this:
▪︎Give your brain a break. Sleep on the material you just read.
▪︎Don't study for more than two hours at a time. Your brain will be overloaded and overworked. Give yourself breaks in between each study session.
▪︎Take a warm bath. Your muscles are probably so tense.
▪︎Relax your jaw. You're holding to much tension there. Just relax your body.
▪︎Give your brain a break. Seriously.
Please take care of yourselves my friends. You won't get anything done if you're burnt out, trust me on this. Information won't retain if your brain physically can't handle all of it at once.
I never want to hear the following ever again:
A. Strong Black Woman
B. God is a Black Woman
C. Black Women are [ insert magical creature here].
D. “ inner Black Woman”.
E. “ Black Women are stuck up”
F. Feel free to add on.
“Black women will save us”
Black women are the least desirable
“Black women are ghetto.”
“Black women are ugly.”
“Black women are loud”
“Black women always have an attitude”
“Black women protect us”
“Black women will fix this”
