“Rooftop after a nightmare. Good place to clear your head if you can make it up there.” His lips curved at the memory. Not the nightmare of course that had been terrible. Meeting Laura however had been completely worth it. Not often that he just connected with someone like that.
Most people likely suffered from some sort of nightmares these days. The change in the world traumatic to all, to put it rather mildly. While the brain coped best it could, it did mean that your subconscious could give you something to really chew on at night. Not exactly the most restful of sleeping conditions, so it seemed a little counter productive. But hey he didn’t design how the human brain worked.
“She’s pretty amazing, helped me cope with it and then I don’t we just, clicked. Not everyone appreciates my sense of humor.” He felt lucky that she did.
Jemma smiled through sniffles as Peter talked about his girlfriend. He had the same kind of look on his face that Fitz always had when he looked at her. She missed that look.
“Human connection is important in times like these. Knowing people understand you and relate to you helps build powerful connections. It inspires people to rise up together. And to have that connection be love--it’s a powerful thing.”
“I’m not one for heights anymore,” Jemma confessed. “Jumping out of a plane without a parachute or powers lends itself to creating a fear of heights.”
