“Hey, sleepy head.” Fleur smiled lightly as she saw the man’s eyelids fall for what had to be the fourth time in the same amount of minutes, taking a seat nearby as she sipped at her own coffee. “I’m sure this place has some form of cover if you wanted to take a nap. No one’s judging.”

“Oh if I take a nap now I might not wake up for hours.” He chuckled and shook his head a bit. As  he let out a short sigh he rubbed at his eyes then took another gulp of his coffee, hoping that would help perk him up for his final class of the day. “Eh, not much longer now anyways, I’m sure I can make it.”

If you want your sensible shoes to get stuck in the mud be my guest.” Lorelei laughed a bit and rolled his eyes as he stood next to the water. “Do you just want to go back?” He did figure it wasn’t a great idea to bring Vi hiking.

“I just don’t see why you wore heels when I told you we were hiking through the creek!”

“I’m just so sleepy.” Lorelei tried to shake the sleep from his eyes but to no avail. He simply wished to go back to his academy appointed home and climb into his bed and sleep. But it was already lunchtime, he was sure he could make it through the day. Lunch was a black coffee and a bag of potato chips.

“For a long enough period of time that you’re not sure if you still work here?” Pepper eyebrows rose as her expression turned into worrying, “Are you okay? I’m not really sure the standard procedure of what to do when someone’s been lost in the woods for a while but- how long exactly were you lost?”

“I don’t think I’ve been gone too long.” Lorelei furrowed his brows then shrugged nonchalantly. “I just enjoy the outdoors, it’s like my home so I do get a little lost in thought when I’m out. lease don’t be worried, I don’t mean to startle you.”

Turning around, Zoe was surprised to see Lorelei. “Well, nice to know to show up again.” She smirked. “If it helps, I haven’t heard anything of you being fired yet, but Novus doesn’t seem like a place to do public firings.”

“Maybe I should check my mailbox...” Lorelei shrugged a bit, he really wouldn’t mind if he was fired. Though, chances are, he hadn’t been fired. “Eh, I doubt they fired me. But whatever happens happens.” He just smiled at her, seeming completely at ease.

Pepper had been walking out of the academy gates to do a coffee run- the cafeteria coffee was a tragedy and she had drank all of the pods for Stark’s coffee machine. Besides, she could do with the fresh air. She had been on her smart phone, white painted nails tapping with speed at the keys as she put together some emails, looking up suddenly as someone spoke. At first she looked a little shocked at the suddenness of the other’s person’s voice, but after a second she offered him a polite, warm smile. 

“I’m afraid I have no idea- do you work here?”

“I think I work here? I did?” Lorelei grinned and let out a chuckle. “I guess it’s not best to ask a new student huh?” He glanced around to attempt to find another teacher. “I should still be a teacher here. I’ve just been... Lost in the woods.”

“Not as far as I know, honey,” Vi smirked at him.  “Let me guess…ya had to take a ‘sick leave?’”  She held up air quotes with her fingers.

“Uh.. Let’s just go with that. I didn’t actually... ‘call off,’ though?” Lorelei scratched the back of his head and let out a nervous laugh. “I bet nobody even noticed!” He chuckled again.
