that pet name still felt pleasantly foreign, but it was no difficult task to fathom that the ranger plainly spoke in a charmingly familiar way in general. admittedly, they hadn't been particularly shy with their exchanged affections, either, so jing yuan had no qualms with endearing terms slung his way.
his request was one the general had no reason to refuse. many times had he enjoyed others trying to do his hair for him, many times had he contently sat through companions droning on about how much of a nightmare those wild locks of his were to rein in. no matter the complaints, fingers in his hair and care displayed in such a simple, plain way always brought great comfort, to him.
as such, the ribbon was accepted with a fond smile. he circled boothill, wasted no time to grasp those long strands of light hair in turn, and carded his fingers through it for a few moments. admittedly, they weren't quite thick enough to pull off the exact same style as the general, but he wasn't going to decline his request based on that. instead, he aimed to distract with touches.
digits shifted to the side of his head, gingerly drew his hair back from there, fingertips tracing his hairline along the way, passing by his ears and gathering strands at the back of his head. he adjusted them neatly, bit by bit, and smiled quietly to himself while he tied them up. it wasn't difficult by any means, and over more quickly than he liked, so jing yuan brushed the hair beneath the ponytail over one of his shoulders, and leaned his head over the other.
