I have a theory about Too-Big-Miracle
Disclaimer of course, no idea if anyone else has brought this up or debated it before, I would love to hear in comments.
This isn’t to say I’m dissatisfied with the explanation given by the show (that the miracle went huge because it was a joint effort between a+c, it could easily be that), but when I first saw the show I got a hunch that it was something to do with Jim. They each performed a half (could but considered incomplete) miracle while holding a hand of the empty house of “the mightiest of archangels” (quote Shax). So I wondered if it were a possibility that Jim acted as a conduit to his own angelic abilities, metaphorically the electrical system of the house, despite the fact he himself had no appliances plugged in at the time (couldn’t use his own powers), and the joint half miracle somehow hacked into that unbeknownst to any of them.
Furthermore, I can imagine Gabriel’s body feeling the presence of miracle being performed improperly or incompletely and making the executive decision to fill in the blanks, and just went way overboard without Gabe himself there to filter (no electrical adapters, just full power straight out of the breaker system)
