I think the saddest thing about Tony is that he is so willing to die for the cause, he’d do it without a second’s hesitation, but at the end of the day he’s always the one who ends up surviving. Whether he likes it or not. Even in infinity war, after Peter has turned to dust in his arms and he raises his own hand, waiting for it to come, for the dust to start appearing- at that point, he’s probably looking forward to the relief of it- but it doesn’t ever arrive.

He’s the survivor, and that is his curse.
