Oh that’s good. Food spoiling isn’t the worst thing in the world. Inconvenient, yes. And it sucks that you have to spend money on those items again, but it could definitely be worse.

Yeah. I’m thinking of starting some ways to get profits up. Just because I want to make sure we don’t take a loss because of the storm. I’ve been thinking of something like loyalty cards, but I’m not sure if that would actually work.

Yeah it’s interesting being here. Haven’t been matched quite yet but we’ll see what happens.

Yeah, it actually took me awhile to get matched, and my tenant also is on the app and it took them a few months. But overall, I find that as a plus to be honest, they’ve done a good job with the matching from what I can tell.

Sounds like the same boat I’m in. I think the only reason property management’s not bothering me yet is because of how long the shop’s been there. But I’ve got some friends who own a couple businesses in other parts of town and the owners of the buildings they’re in aren’t being as understanding.

Yeah, I’ve only been around a few years and I have a nice downtown location so like there’d definitely be people interested. I just have to figure out some sort of sale or promotion or something. Do people still like loyalty cards?

Yeah exactly. Luckily there was nothing wrong at the bakery though (other than some food spoiling) so we were able to open up pretty easily.

Okay so hi everyone! I’m putting this out here as a bit of a water tester as it were… but…. I got some pretty awesome new board games and was wondering if anyone would be interested in maybe like a board game night? Could even get some hot cocoa or something together and have a nice get together! And we could put together like a tournament and everything! I’ve got plenty of games we can try! Some more complex than others and some more combative or co-operative! I think it could be a lot of fun!

Okay this sounds like a lot of fun. I’m also willing to throw in my homemade cocoa mix to sweeten the deal. And honestly, I’m pretty sure that my wife would love to as well.

I hear similar remarks from friends with children. That must make everything feel that much more valuable. I know I’ve been feeling that way already with Milo.

Yeah, fingers crossed. 

It really does, plus I also recommend taking as many pictures as you can.  Sadie loves looking at her old baby and toddler pictures, so it’s a good way for you to remember and gives you plenty of stories when Milo gets curious.

Yeah, I did. I’m still working on trying to figure out how to pay rent for the month, but my landlord isn’t pressing too hard. Yet.

Roman couldn’t believe what they were hearing. Through Aidan, they had heard a lot about Talia’s sister and very little was positive. The woman was absolutely bonkers and Roman hated that she got in the middle of their best friend’s relationship. Especially when in their mind, they were always destined to end up together. While they’re glad Aidan and Talia got their second chance, Roman can’t help but feel annoyed all over again. “Well, I don’t blame you. I’m not even in your shoes and I feel enraged.” Roman smiled at the thought of Zane, their features softening a bit. “You know, I really like them.” 

“Yeah, like I’m just glad that I got to her before she got to Tali because I just can’t imagine loosing her again,” Aidan sighed, before shrugging a little, “Well I’m glad that you like them. You deserve to have someone you like. Plus it’ll be hard for you to go on a work binge with someone like Zane, I’m sure they’ll try to get your attention if you ignore them too much.”

I might take you up on that sometime, thanks. I’m not sure if looking at the colorful sweets will register much to Hendrix or not. It might, but either way, I think a change of scenery once in a while will be good for him.

Yeah, plus it’ll help him get used to being around other situations. I found that helped a lot with Sadie.

Talia couldn’t help but beam. It just felt like the perfect little vacation for the three of them to bond a little more and Aidan was right; Sadie needed something where she felt included before they went off on their honeymoon. “This is going to be so much fun. I haven’t been to Disney in years! Oh and Sadie will be over the moon! we should pack her things and surprise her the day of like ‘surprise! we’re going away for a couple of days!’. 

“I love that, maybe not even tell her where we’re going until we get to California, she loves surprises so it’ll keep her guessing,” Aidan smiled, “We’ll just need to find someone to watch the dogs, but I don’t think that’ll be much of a problem.”

Yeah, not exactly. There’s schedules that thankfully don’t keep the cameras around 24/7.

That’s good.  But if you and Hendrix ever need an out, you’re more than welcome to come to the bakery or my house. It’ll at least give you some other places than your usual hiding spots.

I really hope everything is okay.

Now that it’s finally letting up and I can check: pipes thankfully were fine the entire time, but we do have some roof damage but that’s a lot easier to fix.

That sounds like it was probably a fun memory, despite her not liking the snow.

That’s a possibility. The house also is insanely old, and I inherited it from my aunt and it has a lot of weird problems that just pop up. 

Yeah, it was. Though really it also feels like it wasn’t that long ago. Sadie’s just grown up too fast.

Yeah, when the roads clear up, they’ll be going home. At least until it’s time to shoot more of the show, but hopefully they got plenty of content that it won’t be right away. I haven’t tried involving myself too much in the show, so I don’t exactly know how the scheduling works.

Yeah, I have no idea how it works either. I’ve always just kind of assumed that they just always have cameras there all the time, but that’s probably not right.

Ah so then there’s multiple early-warning systems in place at least, that’s a plus too. I think it comes down to the color, it’s so bright and clean looking outside, it’s too much to resist.

Fingers crossed for you man, I know as soon as we get out of this Emmy and I may just end up being your first customers. Home cooked meals are great but it really makes you appreciate some freshly baked treats.

I would really appreciate it. I’m hoping that a lot of people have the same ideas as you just because with everything rent is going to be rough, plus I still need to pay the staff. I could probably get buy without a paycheck next month if need be because of Tali’s job, but I don’t want to have to take that extreme of a thing just because of a snowstorm.

Oh no, I’m sorry to hear that. a lot of businesses are having a hard time right now I think. Hopefully some of the landlord’s will be understanding, and that there won’t be too much damage. I’m a little concerned about the salon as well. I guarantee when you’re open again though I’ll be by to stock up on goodies.

My landlord isn’t too bad, but even if I don’t pay it this month, he’ll probably ask me to try and pay it next month and that still creates a lot of problems. And I’m not sure which I’d rather.

“You did what? Man if I were drinking my tea I’d be spitting it out right now. I was unaware. Trying to make sure everything was in order but damn. Twenty dollars? Yikes. Ya dirty mouth lint licker.” Roman chuckled and pulled out their Orbit gum to offer it to Aidan only to laugh some more. But as Roman listened and realized that Lila was no joke, they couldn’t help but frown. “She’s certified nuts. Well, if she gives you more trouble, I can keep tabs on her.” Roman smiled at the mention of their spouse. “Not bad you know? Still getting to know one another. I think we’re finally in a good space.” 

“Well she said to my face she was going to try to stop the wedding, and that Tali wasn’t a good mother, which we both know isn’t the case, and a whole bunch of other things about what me and Sadie were supposed to have, and I just....lost it,” Aidan admitted, “But she’s left Portland for awhile, so I’ll let you know if or when I hear that she gets back. But I’m glad to hear that. They seem to get you out of your shell a little bit.”
