He definitely has, and Miguel got him some Legos for him to make original structures, so he’s really glad to have the table to work on. Oh gosh, Emmy I’m in love all over again. Sleep is not easy but Miguel’s been really mindful and letting me get rest if the girls aren’t hungry. I promise to have you over soon to meet them though. But yes! We’ve named them Isobel and Jessamine. Aww you’re so welcome! I’m glad you got them! How was your birthday?

Oh wow! I’m a little camera shy, but maybe that will help me open up a bit. I think it’s going to need glitter though.

Awww, I’m so glad-- and how amazing! He’s going to have an entire city built up. Do a see a city planner in his future? Lol. That’s what I’ve heard, but I’m praying you get some Z’s. So happy to hear that Miguel has been helping out so much. Parenthood looks good on ya’ll! Please do! I would absolutely love to when you and they are ready. Those names are precious... you know I’m gushing over here, right? It was nice, thank you! Pretty low-key this year, but I’ve been running on empty so I’m okay with that. RJ got us a dinner reservation at a place I’ve been dying to try, so it was more of a romantic celebration for sure.

All things considered they’d been able to deal as well as possible with the weather conditions and everything that had been thrown at them, including the odd power outage. So while some might have panicked at suddenly being plunged into darkness, RJ was confident they had everything in place to get through however long this might last. Calling out to Emmy, her response put a smile on his face as he turned in the direction her voice was coming from. Using his flashlight to carefully make his way over to the living room, he switched it off once he was in the warm glow of the fireplace at the front of the room. “I was hoping you might say that,” he joked as he spotted his wife’s eyes peeking out and glancing at him. The smile spread wider as he moved over to slip under the heavy blankets covering Emmy, snuggling up with her and letting his legs tangle with her own in close quarters underneath the layers. “You’re right, Blanket Mountain is pretty cozy, babe.” RJ dotted his wife’s lips with a quick kiss. “I wonder how long we can just stay like this.”

Although being trapped indoors and without much freedom for anything else could be a real drag (on top of the power outages and beyond chilly weather), Emmy was grateful to have this time with RJ. They always made a point to spend as much as they could together after work, but having several days in a row just to themselves felt a bit too good to believe. Snuggled comfortably within the blankets, Emmy beamed as her husband slipped in between them to cozy up to her. Her feet skimmed his gently, with a playful tickle of toes. “Much more so now with you here,” Em murmured happily against his mouth, her lips stealing another teasing kiss as she hummed thoughtfully at his musing. “Not sure, but I vote that we do so as long as we can. It’s pretty romantic here.” Blue eyes took in his handsome features, highlighted by the fire that glowed in the otherwise dark night. “Unless you have any qualms with that...”

“Thank you, Emmy,” Amber said, bearing a soft, sincere smile to her friend. Wile dabbing her eyes, she maintained the smile and then looked over the menu at he pretzel stand, even after having made her decision. She laughed a bit, her smile growing when Emmy decided to have the same thing as her, and after their orders were placed, Amber turned and looked about their surroundings, thinking about the shops she’d want to visit. But her attention was drawn back to her friend as the fresh smell of the warm pretzels wafted in her nose. Joining Emmy at the table, Amber took a seat in one of the chairs, her smile growing again as she plucked one of the pretzels and pulled a piece off. “Funny enough, I’m due right around your birthday. There’s a high chance though that they’re going to induce labor, so that I don’t get too, too big and the babies can be delivered safely.”

Emmy knew she probably had priorities when it came to shopping, but all she could think about now was buying baby stuff for Amber and the babies that would be here soon enough. She also probably should have had a little more control when it came to her appetite, but the buttery smell of their pretzels she couldn’t ignore for long. Just as she was about to pop a piece of hers into her mouth, Emmy stopped to grin again. “Oh my goodness-- that’s amazing! Then my birthday time will be extra special. Especially if they’re already born!” After a delighted chuckle, she finally took a bite. “That’s great then. I bet it’s kind of a relief to have an idea when to expect them. I know I keep gushing but I’m just so happy for you.”

Okay so hi everyone! I’m putting this out here as a bit of a water tester as it were… but…. I got some pretty awesome new board games and was wondering if anyone would be interested in maybe like a board game night? Could even get some hot cocoa or something together and have a nice get together! And we could put together like a tournament and everything! I’ve got plenty of games we can try! Some more complex than others and some more combative or co-operative! I think it could be a lot of fun!

I am always up for board games. Both competitive and cooperative ones! if they’re drawing involved though, no one wants to be on my team. It’s definitely a weakness of mine for sure! I’m Emmy, by the way!

We definitely did not have a Lego table for him but he uses it all the time now when he’s working on a new set. You’re amazing! I’ve been as well as I can be. My back’s been hurting a lot and I feel like I end up going to the bathroom every hour like clockwork, but I’m hanging in there! Ready to meet these babies! How are you?

I like the sound of that! Maybe I need a cape! Oh wait-- I could use one from my salon!

I’m so glad! I know this kind of set-up probably isn’t the easiest to go into optimistically, but it can be well worth it. I think many have found success. I definitely was, yes! And it’s still there, too.

Exactly. I’ve always been a huge fan of the snow but this is just insane ll. Not bad. ‘ve been trying to work on some projects and catching up on television actually. I hardly get the chance to do that lately. Any recs? 

Agreed. Glad it’s over with, finally. Oh, that sounds nice then! Hmm-- I guess it depends on what kind of shows you’re into. Right now we’re catching up on Ozark, which is really dark and intense, but it’s pretty great. Usually I balance that out with sitcoms, lol.

I wish I knew where my tech gloves are. I hadn’t really unpacked yet at Roman’s and now HERE WE ARE TOO COLD TO UNPACK. But soup is a good choice. I think I have come campbells somewhere. I just have to figure out how to cook as a blanket burrito.

I did.  I made it for her this morning when she was sleeping. I convinced her that Elsa had made it for her. 

I’m alright. I don’t think that I’ve ever been out of the bakery this long since it opened so I’m a little worried about being able to pay the rent this month. Plus I have no idea what kind of shape the building will be in when we get back. 

Awww, that’s the sweetest! I love that.

Oh no, I’m sorry to hear that. a lot of businesses are having a hard time right now I think. Hopefully some of the landlord’s will be understanding, and that there won’t be too much damage. I’m a little concerned about the salon as well. I guarantee when you’re open again though I’ll be by to stock up on goodies.

I checked, and unfortuantely nowhere seemed to be able to get me any. I almost sent my PA out to get some, but then I decided that was too much of a job hazard. 

What a bummer! I don’t blame you for that though. Probably wouldn’t be exactly the best reason for a snow related injury. If only we knew how to make our own!

You’re welcome, and awww, thanks! Right back at you. That’s definitely how I felt at first too. After a while it just seem natural-- like, hard to imagine being without them. I certainly hope so! I know I couldn’t last in a marriage that didn’t have it.
