Hello all,
AIGA Cal Poly's Screen Printing Workshop is finally here! Are you ready?
Date Saturday, November 3, 2012
Time 11AM–2PM
Location Dexter Building, Room 150
Cost $5 members and $7 for guests*
*includes a tank top and all screen printing supplies
Other than shirts and ink, we will also provide pre-exposed screens to print an awesome AIGA design. If you already have shirts, bags, or other things to print on, you can bring those along and print on them as well. Come ready to learn all about the exciting process of DIY screen printing!

AIGA Officer Elections
Come to Building 34 (Dexter), Rm 150 THIS Thursday to participate in AIGA Officer Elections!
Here is a list of all the officer positions and the responsibilities associated with each:
President Primary representative of the club to The Department of Art and Design, other campus entities, and the rest of the design community. Responsible for leading officer meetings, general club meetings, and events, or delegating responsibility to another officer. Communicates regularly with and serves as primary contact for faculty advisor.
Vice President Secondary manager of the club. Assists and contributes towards the responsibilities of the president. Responsible to fill in for the president at any events that he/she can’t be present at, and would assume position of president should he/she have to resign.
Treasurer Officer in charge of assessing, allocating, and managing all funds. Responsible for working with faculty advisor and providing him/her with regular updates on the account balance. Must also work with ASI and the Art and Design office staff for all deposits, withdrawals and money transfers to and from the club account.
Secretary Responsible for taking minutes at meetings, overseeing event dates, and communicating with ASI for all organized events. Also responsible for distributing meeting documentation and all information and updates to officers and faculty advisor.
Membership Responsible for working with faculty advisor and AIGA SF on organizing and promoting membership drives, as well as assisting students with joining AIGA throughout the year. Ensure that our Cal Poly roster is always current with AIGA SF.
Designers Responsible for design and production/printing of all club event promotion, including posters, various print collateral, and the master calendar. Must work with faculty advisor and send all materials in advance for approval.
Writer Responsible for writing all club communications, including, but not limited to: promotional materials, correspondence with guest speakers, grant/funding proposals, and content for the club website.
Webmaster Responsible for providing all club information and updates for all events and activities online. Including, but not limited to: managing and updating the club website, providing information to the Department office staff to add information to the department website (when appropriate), and creating and posting events on the club facebook page.
Historian Responsible for documenting all club activities and events, such as photos at events and video recording of speakers.

These last couple days have been packed with AIGA excitement! We would like to take a moment and thank everyone who made this weekend's activities possible.
Thank you to Ale and Kasey, from LEVEL Studios; Johnny and Priscilla, from Kraftwerk Design; and Kara, from We3 Design, for speaking on Friday! You made our panel event absolutely wonderful and insightful!
Thank you to all the reviewers and organizers at the AIGA Santa Barbara Portfolio Review— and thank you to lynda.com for hosting the event! The Cal Poly students who attended all received great feedback on their work!
Lastly, thank you to all the AIGA Cal Poly members who were able to help out at Open House this Saturday! Hopefully, you were able to befriend some future AIGAers!

Panelists will include awesome designers from LEVEL Studios and Kraftwerk Design, as well as freelancer (and former Cal Poly instructor), Kara Suzuki! Come listen to these talented designers talk about their wide ranges of professional experience, and be sure to ask questions! Everyone is welcome to attend and encouraged to participate!
