Before-I-Turn-20-Bucket list I posted a few weeks back. It's also stuff, so I think I should post it here as well. Heh.Â
Hitting High Tides
(I went through my secret personal blog recently and here’s a post I found relevant and sensical enough to actually post for the public. This was written on June 22, 2012.)
 ————————————————————————————————
I think that what most people get wrong about relationships is that once they believe they’ve found ‘the one’, their ‘soul mate’, the ‘love of their lives’ and what have you, they think that that’s that. Much like teenagers, we believe that we’re invincible. Because of the cosmic and extraordinary love we feel for our oh-so-amazing and bob-darned-compatible partner, we think that destiny or fate will do all the work. We’re meant to be together, so we’re problem-proof for life. If  we’re meant to be together anyway. So we hurl ourselves head first into the shark tank of the world, fearing nothing. Because fate takes care of us. If something goes awry and people go astray, then turns out you weren’t meant for me after all. Oh well. Game over. Thanks for playing but try again next time. The thing is - I don’t think that there’s such thing as ‘the one’. I don’t think that there’s someone the world will offer to you like a certificate you get for participation. No, I don’t think it works that way. Everything comes with a price and anything worth having, won’t come easy. Because as the rolling of the days smears the magic off your relationship, it becomes a decision to love a person. For some, this is a signal to leave. But I think this is where the work comes in. The fights don’t matter - as long as you’re willing to push through them. It will be hard. Everyday will be a battle, some where defeat is not an option and other where you’re struggling to hold on. Sometimes, the easy days go by like golden sand in an hour glass then suddenly you’re in that place of uncertainty - staring down a foggy road and you don’t know if you’ll come out together. But I think the key here is to just believe it, and want it, and to push it.  So I think that there’s a ‘should be the one’ instead. That person who makes you happiest, who reminds you that life is good, who shows you that you’re still human and admit to your mistakes. That person who wants you to be a little better. Because relationships, once marinated in the belief of that certain future of marriage, kids and honeymoons, becomes a lie. Nothing is certain. There’s no way to tell for sure, no matter how raging your feelings are that ‘yes, she’s the one.’. If you want her to be the one, you have to make her the one. You have to work for it. It’s as simple as that. Everything that we take so long to build will crumble in less than half the effort. Everything beautiful is fragile, like butterflies, and newborns and stained glass windows. We can’t go head first thinking that nothing can break us - because odds are, almost anything can and a lot of things will. But remember that all it takes is hope and a lot of struggle - it will be well worth it at the top.Â

I never finish my love poems.
"You get taken all the time for a fool. I don't know why. You're so gullible but I don't mind. That's not the problem. And I don't need anyone with me right now. Monday, Tuesday is my weekend. You get taken for a fool all the time. I don't know why." - Taken For A Fool, The Strokes
3-4 hours? Watercolor and ink on watercolor paper + The Strokes/The Smiths on loop
December 2012
2012 was cosmically tough year for me, so I'm rooting for 2013 to kick last year's butt. Keep moving forward and whatnot. I resolved to push myself creatively so here's for starters. Haha. Expect to see a lot more updates! Happy New Year, guys! May Neil Gaiman's wishes happen for all of you. :)
Watercolor and ink on watercolor paper, over 2 episodes of FRIENDS

Late photo post but I found these on my backlog folders. Taken at the 2011 SONA for The GUIDON.Â
So the other day I didn't feel like listening in class cause I was worrying about Philo midterms so I drew this and I got fond of it so I colored it in. Hahaha. Confetti for practice! I'm getting rusty. Hrhrhr.
Original sketch that I was too lazy too rotate
Sketched for about 5-ish mins and colored in Photoshop for about 20
Scraps from a photoshoot several months back that I decided to work on. :)

I call this: ‘I wish I knew how to tell you how much of an axe wound you really are. Your existence around me feels like lemon juice in a paper cut.’
Painting is therapeutic.
30 minutes, watercolors and ink on oslo, +44 and then some
Roses mean remember.Â
Or forget what I did.
Or get better.
Or let’s be better.
Or I’ll be better.
Or be better.
Or I’m sorry.
Or I’m sorry for you.
Or I’m sorry, but I can’t do anything about it.
Or I love you.
Or please love me too.
Or that there are no words.
Or ‘let’s stop talking.’
Or ‘can we start over?’
Or ‘can this be over?’
Or 'It's over.'
(I need to stop trying to find meaning in things that wilt.)

(At an attempt to cheer myself up.)
This song has been my best friend this week. I loved the trailer so much that I was compelled to do fan art! I need to get myself one of Gru’s minions. They’re so adorably klutzy and weird, I would love them forever.Â
Sorry for the terrible quality, but I have no scanner and made do with a photo.Â
Watercolor, photoshop, fineliners 2 hours while watching ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall’Â
Gru’s minions and the song belong to Universal Pictures.Â
Sara in the 60’sÂ
Really late post. This was a photoshoot with my friends mid last year which I never got around to editing and posting until now. I forgot about it actually because I wasn’t very happy with the results at the time. I think I managed to salvage them though. I apologize, however, for the obvious lack of a more creative way to present/arrange the photos.Â
More photos soon!

A date at 2AM
I frequent late night thoughts, when I become not exactly myself. With my hair half made in an undone braid, thoughts ebb from the back corners of my mind that I do not venture in when the sun sits high. Now the moon is witnessing my aching back hunched over a dim glow of a window to the world. An old monitor. It blinks. Blink. Blink. So the skin craves, the eyes water, the fingers sore for the texture of him. Ideas branch, soars and sputters in mid air The bones creak under the weight of boundless possibilities. I think to and of myself and of the dozens of other people I can be tonight. I filter in and out of consciousness and write to bid goodbye to a night alone with myself/ves before I’ll decide to sleep. Because in the morning I’ll be myself again.
