im so proud of ranboo, although i did stop watching for a few months being able to see how much ranboo has grown and become so confident and happy, while making absolutely incredible things that they love to make, it makes me so excited and happy to see what the future holds :)

Ive been workshopping it and trying to write out as much as I can over the last few months, but I hope to have the team made within the next 3ish months at the most, and then we would start working on episode 1!

it is nearly 1am i had random brain moment, i got thinking of the role of hetch specifically the ending was he part of the show? was he the leader? etc and then went back to the ending of ep 3 and listened to it to hear(paraphrased):

“the founder gave me the purpose many many years ago to repurpose this company and create these experiments to find who you in your world was worthy of joining the cast for forever…”

no im just having a thinkity think with my brain full of thoughts at nearly 1am but anyone getting the vibe this could be linked to ‘lostfield

is it the story of the founder and the beginning of what we know as showfall media??

genloss being a commentary on streaming/content creation is so fucking cool to me and its. really making me just look at the internet a little bit differently like

ive dreamed of being a streamer and/or youtuber since i was like six years old but only now at eighteen am i really seeing just how like. dirty and imperfect this industry is.

hetch not allowing ranboo to remove their mask because it would end the show, people only indulging in the mystery of what ranboo looks like underneath. if the mask comes off that means hes fulfilled his role and people have their answers. theyd turn off their tvs and move on now that their mystery is solved. its even more wild when thinking abt that and then going to tiktok or twitter and seeing people freak out over seeing just a bit of his cheek through the hole in his mask during the finale

or how we saw people streaming out of FAST FOOD RESTAURANTS in a mall food court. yknow. places where food is made quickly and cheaply on demand. charlie's stream to me felt like a combination of a few things: mockery of youtuber apologies/the insincerity behind a lot of creators who do bad shit, the need for money (he was asking for subs a lot and asking people for money essentially) bc content creation is NOT always a stable job, and he was literally reacting to colors. its a show of how people will tune into anything their favorite streamers do just because

AND. the people that made appearances? THEY WERE CAST AS THEMSELVES. in the second episode their descriptors were literally things that define them as creators (niki's being "nice" and austin's being "gay"). they were taken from their lives, stripped of everything other than a few barebone traits, and forced into the show. its how creators are so often dehumanized and seen as nothing but entertainment for their audiences

GOD I FUCKING LOVE GENLOSS HOLY SHIT the realization of gl!nikis character hit me so fucking hard esp w seeing how shitty people have treated her the past few years.

seeing people so goddamn expectant of cc!ranboo to face reveal was so strange, and seeing people scream abt that portion of his chin was so fucking meta! like the scene focused on whether this character is gonna live or die and screaming to be saved yet people still only cared about the reveal, ending up being exactly what genloss strives to talk about. the dehumanisation of people in the content creating industry, people moving on the second they are given their answer to other content which they deem "mysterious", not truly caring about the creators underneath was perfectly showcased by genloss and i love it.

and gl!charlie too, the way that he was being reused in every episode for a seperate role by sfm is sickening as well, how content creators are being forced to put on this persona no matter how they truly feel because otherwise, who'll watch them? god this show makes me vibrate so hard and its so fucking incredible to see generation loss expanding beyond just ranboos fans, but to outsiders who can see, yes this show is so fucking brilliant and it talks about how goddamn shitty this industry can be!! and ranboo created this show at the age of 19!! with this incredibly passionate crew it makes me so fucking happy . anyways rant over :D
