How did you start working for/with Ranboo? Just curious about it :3

back in the day i was a fan-artist of theirs and i made a fuckkk ton of genloss art, especially posters (most of it still up on my account if you dig deep enough.) eventually ranboo reached out to me to make product promo photos for the genloss tse merch drop, then i got the genloss poster gig, and ive been working with ranboo since!

What's your favorite horror related thing? Like movie, book, etc.

mike flanagan's haunting of hill house will always have a very very very special place in my heart. easily one of my favourite pieces of horror media. honourable mentions include the saw series, jordan peele's nope, and five nights at freddy's

Why kertoir as a name? Got a backstory for it?

hahaha oh it's got a backstory i made a twt account originally cause too many people i knew from my hs followed my insta acc and i wanted to post art for a fandom i felt was a little toooo embarrassing for my irls to see. someway somehow one of those people who, no shade, was a little too loud mouthed for my taste, somehow found my twt account. so i did what any normal person would do and screamed, blocked them, and changed my username i needed a new username quick so i went to random username generator, pressed randomize a couple times, and i got kertoir i wouldve taken the selection process a lot more seriously if i at all expected myself to get anywhere near where i am now but here we are! and i dont regret it at all honestly

#nonsense word is the eaassiest way to get the same username on all platforms too #tldr sometimes you just gotta let fate take the wheel

any tips for avoiding creative burnout

GOOD QUESTION! creative burnout isn't something you can really avoid, but there's good ways of dealing with it! i find that when i get creative burnout its when I'm comparing my work to other artists or I've just been overloading my plate with creative work, so if you can somehow avoid those two that's one way of going about it! i do have a couple tips for getting over creative burnout if you find yourself in it; 1. just listen to your brain and take the time off - creativity is exhausting, so just take your break! forcing yourself to work might end up making the burnout last even longer, so just let it happen. often when you take a break from work and revisit it with fresh eyes you tackle things differently. you'll find that want to come back to art when you're ready! 2. take a set amount of time off - actively force yourself not to work on anything creative for a few weeks. leave your materials somewhere where you can't easily access them. i find this kinda speed-runs the burnout cycle since now that you cant do something, i find it makes you want to go back to it more. 3. just power through it - this is more of a method for when you're working as an artist and you can't really stop (me) but i find just keep powering through your work and eventually something will re-spark that passion and keep you going!

at least that's what works for me :shrug:
