Originally born in Doma, he had once been involved in the resistance, but after a huge misunderstanding where he got accused of being a Garlean spy, he ended up leaving the nation, taking up residence in Eorzea. His innocence had been proven, but there was still an air of mistrust, and he didn't want to be viewed as a criminal anymore, so he left despite being asked to stay. He lived in Limsa Lominsa and had been unaware that he had the Echo up until the Battle of Carteneau happened. He had intended to leave, not wanting to be involved in another nation's war, but ended up staying and assisting due to Hydaelyn's interference. Watching the world fall apart, burning all around as the moon fell, he found himself needing to help, he couldn't walk away.
He's accepted his role as a Warrior of Light relatively easily, though he has his doubts now and then on whether or not he's good enough to be looked to the way the others do. He's missed having others rely on him to an extent, but being looked to for guidance is something new that he still isn't quite used to.
Takara is a relatively quiet man, though he has been doing his best to be better about it. He was closed off during the first month with the Scions, but as time passed, they slowly managed to worm their ways passed the wall he had put up after the incident in Doma. Behind his seemingly cold exterior, they found a warm man with a gentle smile and an even gentler touch. He did his best to avoid accidentally hurting those close to him and tried everything in his power to be someone they could depend on.
After his first fight with Zenos, he became a bit obsessed with growing stronger and that obsession never went away, even after he defeated Zenos. The need to be as strong as he possibly can be buzzes beneath his skin and he trains constantly so that he can protect those around him.
His eyes and scales never really went back to normal after the Light Corruption, even when he tried to find ways to fix it. The limbal rings stayed that blinding white, his scales forever paper white, and despite his best to pretend like it didn't bother him, it clearly did, especially whenever someone asked about it. He refuses to explain the cause and the Scions don't tell anyone either, knowing how much it would upset him if they did.

Relationships with the Scions
✩Y'shtola -> Due to her being the first of the Scions he met, he's the closest to her second to Thancred. She reminds him of his younger sister back in Doma, so he ends up acting pretty brotherly towards her. He doesn't hide the fact that he views her as a sister, but they don't really talk about it, either. It's simply a known fact among the Scions.
✩Thancred -> Takara wasn't sure if he was going to like him at first, but the two had ended up becoming pretty close relatively quickly. Their personalities were different, but it allowed them to mesh well. He doesn't know when he ended up falling for him, but the two haven't exactly had a proper conversation about it. All they know is that there is something between them and while they act as a couple, they hadn't actually stated it verbally. It wasn't until they met again after Takara's first battle with Zenos that he ended up confessing to Thancred that he loved him. He had feared for his love that day and he realized that his life was truly in danger on this path, he didn't want to die with regrets. From Stormblood and onward, they're actively dating and state it themselves.
✩Urianger -> He enjoys teasing Urianger and while the two get along, this can sometimes end in the two of them bickering because of it. Takara considers him a good friend, however, and he makes sure that Urianger is aware of this whenever they end up getting into an argument. With Ryne now in the picture, the two have gotten even closest since they both assist Thancred in raising and taking care of her.
✩Minfilia -> She was sweet, if a bit naive at times. As he got to know her, he developed the urge to protect her, though that was made difficult by how often others targeted her. He did his best, but a small part of him still feels like he failed her that day in the tunnels. He knows it wasn't his fault, but he can't help but wonder what would have happened if he hadn't left her. He tries to avoid thinking about it too much.
✩Alphinaud -> At first, he didn't like him much, he seems to arrogant for his own good. As time passed, however, and the two grew closer, he began to view him as a younger brother. He isn't sure when it happened, but this 'brother' feeling slowly morphed into Takara viewing him as his son instead. He hasn't told him this, however.
✩Alisaie -> The two ended up bonding very quickly during their adventures in the Coils of Bahamut, many things happening during them that ended with a sort of trauma bond happening. This only intensified as the two go to know each other during Post-HW and Stormblood. He viewed her as a daughter from the start and they both know it, though they still don't acknowledge it.
✩Estinien -> The two had a bit of animosity at first due to everything that happened during the Dragoon questline, but they never actually talked about it. As they were made to work together, the animosity faded into a mutual respect that slowly blossomed into friendship. Takara respects Estinien a lot and has found himself incredibly protective of him after everything that happened with Nidhogg, though he makes sure not to let this be known by the other as to not upset him.
✩Tataru -> Takara adores Tataru. She's an absolute sweetheart and he would do anything for her, truly, she's like a little sister to him. He hates seeing her upset and every time he sees her cry, he ends up hugging her in hopes that it will help at all. Tataru knows she gets special treatment from him and absolutely uses this to her advantage. He knows she does this, but he doesn't mind.
✩Ryne -> He wasn't sure what to think of her at first, but he knew one thing for certain: he couldn't call her Minfilia. It felt wrong, so he ended up calling her 'Little Star', a nickname that stuck even after Thancred gave her the name Ryne. Takara would joke about being her step-dad and it would make her laugh, but as time passed, he began to view her as his daughter as well, and the jokes stopped being jokes. Eventually, even the 'step' part fell off, though he would still jokingly call himself the 'step-dad' sometimes when he was referring to Thancred, Urianger, and himself as her dads.

I'm not over this image, man. Takara's hand is fucking huge against Thancred's neck, it's insane. I wanna take better images of the two of them, but I can't bc of how limited gpose is :(
I love his smile so much, he looks like a pleased puppy or something
Also I noticed something. Urianger is the only one who looks at you at the end of this dungeon. Everyone else just stares ahead (using Thancred as an example), but he stares at you. It's interesting is all.
