Watching the rain fall in Glasgow
A shopping mall in Glasgow. Usually I don't like shopping malls, but as it was raining all day I came to think shopping malls are particularly useful in the Scottish climate! And this one was quite nice and fancy.
In Scotland you often see these kind of walls, made without any cement.

Apparently the water in the Scottish creeks is so clean you can drink it. I guess this is quite normal in nature, but as a city girl you sometimes tend to forget these kind of basics!
Scottish highlands
Scotland. Beautiful when it's sunny, beautiful when it's grey!
Carlisle. On our way from London to Glasgow our train stood still here for a while. This made us notice that the Carlisle train station was getting a make-over: red has (almost) been repainted green :-)

After a long stay in Paris I left travelling for a few weeks. Not spectacularly far, nor spectacularly long. When I told people I was taking a sabbatical they asked me where I would go: Asia? Latin America? Australia? Well, none of those - how dull!
And although I love travelling, I don't love everything about it. It is a very uncool thing to say, but travelling comes along with little inconveniences that makes me miss my own bed (although I don't really have one anymore, now that I think about it), shower and.. toilet.
After becoming familiar with mattresses, flushes and water taps of all kinds, it's good to be in one, familiar place for a while!
