Natasha shook her head, smiling. “I’m more than happy for you to do it.” She got the best of both worlds, getting to have the love of her life carrying their child, plus none of the pain. “God, when the fuck did we become proper adults?” She questioned, eyebrow raised.

“Guess that’s settled then?” She couldn’t help but ask once more, just to be sure. AJ then looked away, at the clock, and back at Natasha, “--- just about two hours ago, I think,” she answered, “Can’t say I am not happy ‘bout that. We’re married, we’re going to have a baby... shit’s awesome!” She had never thought she was going to make it this far, so it was definitely the best kind of thing for her to have right now. “You can, like... pinch me, or somethin’ now. This is... This doesn’t feel real... yet.”

Natasha peppered AJ’s cheek with kisses, the smile breaking into a grin. “Maybe let’s hold off on telling her for a little while, unless you want her to have a front row seat in every step of the way.” While she always loved how involved her mother could be, it wasn’t exactly the type of thing she wanted her to have a say in. “Well then, let’s start somewhere easy.” She shrugged, leaning into her wife. “Would you want to carry a tiny human in you?” Well, maybe it wasn’t the easiest decision ever. 

Alejandra scrunched her nose up and almost immediately shook her head, all while raising her free hand in a rather defensive manner, “--- dear God, no!” She spoke up, laughing a little. “Your mom getting all up in our business again is the last thing I would want now,” while she understood that this would be something exciting for both of their mothers, AJ wanted to keep it on the down low for the longest time possible. After all, there’s a possibility of it not even working out as well as they’d expect it, right? “I do, yes,” Ale replied. “But if you wanted to do it first, I can’t say no to that, really --- I can wait. It’s still going to be my baby, after all...”

Natasha looked down at their hands, focusing on what her wife was saying to her. It was not an unwelcome idea, not at all. It was no secret that she was good with kids, and to have one with Ale would help to fill their lives with even more love. “I’m ready” She breathed out, looking back up at AJ, a smile on her face.

Oh, no. She wasn’t crying -- there was just an entire branch in her eye right now. “Now you can tell your mother we’re trying, forreal,” wasn’t that amazing? Hell yes, it was. “You could also tell her that her favourite daughter-in-law is the best person ever for even bringing it up, and almost making it happen.” Now she was just straight up teasing -- there was no way she was ever going to bring any kind of attention to how emotional she was about to become. AJ shook her head fondly and then let go of Natasha’s hands just to pull her into a hug, “There’s so damn many things we still need to talk about, oh my God...”

Before Natasha could think up a quip in retaliation, AJ continued talking, causing her to be somewhat speechless for a few moments. “A baby?” She whispered, the shock on her face evident as she processed the question. It definitely wasn’t what she expected from what she thought was a funny anecdote about her mother. “I would love to have a family with you.” She murmured. It had been something she had thought about before, just not necessarily now.

“--- mhm...” she hummed in response, nodding quickly a few times. Was it wrong that she wanted to have a baby of her own now? Alejandra figured that it was about time they’ve actually talked about it, because the thought of having a baby together crossed her mind multiple times this year alone; it was better to be upfront about such a thing rather than keeping it a secret and never bother telling her wife anything, right? “I believe that we DO have a rather steady income, I can take some time off and turn into a housewife and shit like that...” trailing off, she walked over to Natasha, gently taking her hands in her own, “It doesn’t have to be NOW, I wouldn’t want it to be a rush decision, but... I just think I am READY for all of it --- are YOU?”

“Apparently dog strollers are a very real thing and my mum actually wanted to buy one because, and I quote, this might be the best type of grand-baby she will ever get from me.” Natasha smiled, shaking her head. “And people think I am dramatic, I got it from my mama!”

“— you can always tell her we’re TRYING for a baby, and nothing is working, you know,” on the second thought, this idea was possibly one of the worst things ever – AJ would rather not get an earful from the older woman like the last time she said something similar. “But, actually… – Do you WANT to have a mini-me or a mini-you running around, now? ‘Cause, y’know, we should probably talk about it, yeah?” Was she hinting? MAYBE.

Natasha pouted slightly, before replacing it with a smile. “What was the point in marrying you if you don’t do the boring shit for me?” She teased slightly. The idea of forgetting her work and binge watching trashy TV sounded a lot more appealing. “You raise a very good argument, let’s do that instead.” The work could wait, spending time with AJ sounded much more appealing.  

“Doesn’t staying up ‘til VERY late with you count as doing boring shit, though?” Alejandra questioned, quirking her eyebrow up for a mere second. Frankly, she wouldn’t even call it boring -- if anything, it was just one of the few sources of entertainment for her. She would always find a new way to somewhat annoy her wife, misplacing her highlighters, pens and other stuff. “--- besides, I do the dishes half the time, now THAT is some tiring stuff, if I do say so myself.” Yeah, it wasn’t even that -- they had a dishwasher, and unloading the dishes wasn’t even that hard of a thing to do. AJ, at this point, was just talking out her ass. She then placed both of her hands on the table and pushed herself off the chair, all while making a some kind of funny face, “You see, the thing about me is that I am always raising some good points, you can’t deny that...” trailing off, Ale offered her hand to Natasha. “--- let’s-a go!”

Natasha scoffed, rolling her eyes. “You can mark them all then.” She grinned, making no effort to actually continue. “It wouldn’t be too bad if it was only a few, but I just had to read three which stated that Tyler Oakly should be president.” Exhaling a breath, she took another sip of the coffee. How her bloodstream wasn’t made of it, she didn’t know. “Don’t get me wrong, he’s alright, but really?” She paused, as if thinking. “Although, he can’t be worse than cheese puff, I suppose.”

Alejandra quickly looked up at her wife when she mentioned her doing all the work, “--- hell no,” she grumbled, shaking her head. “There’s no way I am going to do your work for you, mi chiquita.” Truth be told, she probably would -- Natasha tended to be pretty persuasive whenever she wanted to and, well... AJ was never the one say no after the fact. Whipped, much? “When is it all due, though? -- Are you sure you can’t just do some of it tomorrow and have it done by the weekend, or something?” She asked, curiously. After all, Ale wanted her to feel good all the time, no matter what; and if the boring marking job was something she didn’t like doing, she simply thought it could wait. “There’s still some pizza left -- we could put Keeping Up With the Kardashians on and cuddle n’ shit?”

“The crazy train has well and truly left the station.” Natasha laughed, shaking her head. She knew there was no point arguing her sanity, no-one knew her better than AJ. Seeing the cups, she groaned happily. “I knew I loved you for a reason.” She grabbed one, taking a sip from it as she moved one of the books to show her wife. “Right now I’m marking the think of someone special to you, describe hem and explain why they are special task.” She sighed, setting the mug down. “I had too high of expectations, I had hoped for like family members, not multiple descriptions of why some kid on YouTube is popular.”

“Wouldn’t want it any other way,” mainly because this was the woman she fell in love with, duh. She was the one who matched her own brand of crazy. Alejandra would be slightly worried if her partner drastically changed in such a short amount of time. “--- only one? Giddy and I feel offended as fuck.” She joked, almost immediately taking the book in her hands and reading some of the things in it. “Honestly, if you think about it... YouTubers are the new influencers, whether you want it or not. -- Maybe the kid’s got shitty parents and treats the internet and some videos as a some kind of escape, or something that could shape them into someone better?” Where did that come from? Frankly, even AJ herself had no idea.

“Spring break used to mean getting drunk and forgetting like everything.” Natasha sighed, throwing down her pen, debating ordering a fourth coffee. “Now it means grading everything I let pile up for the last month and wishing I was actually organised.”

“Good thing you have a SUPER ORGANIZED WIFE, am I right, or am I RIGHT?” AJ teased once she entered the room. “--- now, I’d suggest you stopped talking to yourself, I might actually think you’re going crazy. -- Or well... CRAZIER.” Finishing, she set down not one, but TWO piping hot cups of coffee on the table and then sat down. “What d’you have to do, anyway?”

There is literally nowhere in the world better to be at Christmas than Disneyland. Everything is so beautiful and magical even hearing Let It Go on repeat all day doesn’t get me down. The cold never bothered me anyway.

I know, for a fact, that my very own bed is much better than all of that.

She’s definitely the responsible one in this relationship; she should have known that I am going to screw the list and do my own thing, no matter how good or bad it’s going to be. I’m going to make it up to her somehow.
