Which is why he’s waking up in a bed that’s not his own to the sound of a foreign alarm clock, curled under warm sheets next to an even warmer body. His mismatched eyes blearily flicker up to Kagami’s sleeping face, and there is a faintness in his breath, a weakness in his heart, when he decides to slip closer and kiss him. Kagami rouses under the gentle press of his lips, lethargic and warm as he stretches, legs tangling with Akashi’s under the sheets. He makes a startled noise, half-muted by sleep, when his toes touch Akashi’s ice cold feet. Despite that, he doesn’t move his feet, instead rubbing his toes gently over Akashi’s, his warmth bleeding over to the smaller redhead. Kagami’s brow furrows, eyes pinching tight, as he throws an arm around Akashi and squeezes him close, sleepy grumbling about his cold body temperature.

He feels sweat dripping down the side of his neck, heart pounding in his chest, throat tight. “C’mon, Momo,” he manages weakly. Momoi laughs, short and breathless, smoothing her fingers over Nigou’s head and cuddling him closer where he’s seated on her lap. She leans forward, bringing the husky with her, grinning mischievously. Kagami’s stomach tightens at the sight of the dog further intruding his personal space and embarrassment flushes through him as he averts his eyes when her shirt collar dips open. He feels vaguely defeated when he hears her giggle again.
