Mayumi furrowed her brow in thought. “So… there’s no real way in… hmm… I suppose that theoretically such a world could be accessed through a void in space-time… if there were some kind of anomaly… huh… I weirdly know about this sort of thing… Saku- err… Momo, was I some kind of physicist or something? Err- anyway if that theory is even possible I’d need to figure out a way to warp time or reality… which I can’t see how could even be theoretically possible…”

Momo stopped walking altogether. The old ‘Yumi was there, somewhere… Still, the last thing she needed to do was say anything that would trigger the other girl. There was a possibility she could lose her mind or something along those terms. Momo wasn’t quite sure. “… It could be.” She finally answered. “Let’s just say… yer mom’s dealt with this a lot.”

"Oh... my Mom? Is she some sort of scientist? Or a physicist? Perhaps she would know how then... though... it will be certainly strange if I ask her... I'm not really sure what she looks like... or who she is... even if I pretend I know... I feel like it would seem odd... hmm..." Mayumi paused to think, tapping her finger on her chin. "Well... you know who my mom is, right? So you could help me reach her and ask about it? Oh... but it's getting kind of late... I guess it would probably be best  if I slept anyhow... umm... Momo... d-do you know where I live?"

“Err… Sakura-san? You said I was in ‘limbo’? Err… d-do you know how I could get back there?” Mayumi kept her gaze cast toward her feet. “I… it probably sounds sort of strange I guess… but… something doesn’t feel right… I don’t really know what it is, but… I remember something sort of… and I don’t think I was alone in the darkness…”

That struck a bitter chord. “Momo.” She muttered under her breath, so as the other would not hear her. Still, she couldn’t help the fact her eyes had shot open at the mention of others. Hesitatingly, the elder looked around before continuing their conversation. “… That’s limbo. It’s dark, timeless, and ya come out feelin’ like shit. As fer gettin’ there…” She stayed quiet for a while, listening to their own footsteps, trying to concentrate. “… That’s a bit difficult. I wouldn’t really know, myself. I just… ended up there. Broke out when I found the will to do so.”

Mayumi looked incredulously. “A-akemi… Mayumi? L-limbo?” Mayumi stood for a moment and raised a hand to her head. She was getting a serious migraine. “Err… h-hold on… My head… y-you said Akemi? That name… it’s familiar… I think that’s what the name was of the person who pulled me out… of the void? I… Sakura-san, th-thanks…” Mayumi started to follow slowly behind the strange woman. “Err… sorry if I go sort of slow… I’m having some weird head aches and… chest pains…”

It was all difficult to grasp herself. Momo simply stayed quiet, wondering where everything else had gone and what had happened in the first place? A timeline screw up? Possibly. Her head was starting to hurt. “No, no, it’s fine… I figured as much.” She kept a slow pace, something not normal for the magi; everything was always fast for her. Momo scratched the top of her head, leading the other to their— her. Her apartment.

Momo sighed, looking away. “Don’t worry about it. Akemi Mayumi. That’s who ya are, if I’m not mistaken. Ya act an’ look like her. Same magical signature.” She flashed her fanged-grin. “Sakura Momo. But, I don’t expect ya ta remember that… Ya’ve been in limbo… for… a long time… it’s gonna take some adjusting.” Where were the kids? Damn, her head hurt. “Look, uh… just follow me.” The magi sighed, gesturing for the other to follow her.

Momo stopped. This one looked exactly the same. She swore once again the energy was the same. Still, if she didn’t remember her. “Mayumi…” She mumbled, shaking her head, before putting on a fake grin. “Ya look lost- anythin’ I can do fer ya, is more like it.” Momo gave an exaggerated bow, before offering some pocky to the other. yet, deep down, if someone looked hard enough in her eyes, they can tell how much pain the purple-haired teen was in.

"I- err... s-sorry... um... I don't really know?" Mayumi sighed and looked out at the city. "To be honest, I don't really know where I am... none of this looks familiar... I err... I don't even know how I got here... I just remember sort of this weird blackness and then suddenly I'm here... Err.. s-sorry that probably sounds really weird..." She took the stick of pocky and gave the girl a light smile. "Th-thanks... err... I'd introduce myself... but I'm not really sure how..."

Mayumi raised a hand to her head. “Ouch… wh-where am I? Ow my head… Err… h-hello? A-anyone? Could somebody just tell me where I am?” ‘so I can get home?… where is home? who… am I? This is too weird… Just think… it’ll come back… maybe?’

Momo stood up straighter, swearing she heard… that voice… She started walking blindly, trying to find the other’s magical trace. “… ‘Yumi?” If this was another alternate, she was going to fucking kill someone. ” ‘Yumi?”

Mayumi raised a brow curiously, something seemed vaguely familiar about this woman... but- "Err... c-can I help you?" She couldn't really reject the name she'd been called... she couldn't recall what her name actually was... perhaps this person knew her?

Madoka happened to find herself on the street where this girl was but the main question we all need to consider is why is this girl out here without adult supervision I mean Madoka is a main character who is this twerp. Wait I take that back if she knew someone was insulting her she might kick Madoka’s ass. Because Madoka couldn’t even fight her way out of a paperbag unles she had Homura or Sayaka’s help. Anyway plot stuff. Madoka heard the other girl calling out for help of some sort and decided to go over there and assist her. “Etto… Are you okay? My name is Kaname Madoka, do you need help?”

H-hello, um… Greetings, err-” Mayumi knew she should introduce herself… and yet unlike the narrator, she couldn’t quite recall who she was… it was on the tip of her brain, yet still- “Err… K-kaname-san… do you think you could tell me where I am? I… err.. I can’t really remember what happened… I just remember coming to here and…” Mayumi frowned softly as she furrowed her brow. She just couldn’t make sense of  any of this…

Sometimes We Deserve a Second Chance

Mayumi allowed the conversation to drop as the girls rushed back into the room excited to play a game. Mayumi brought out Candy Land and set it on the floor of the living room. “Maaaaaaaa, play this one before!”

“I know June, but we don’t have many other games, and last time we played chutes and ladders you got angry and started biting the corners of the board.” Junko furrowed her brow and huffed lightly as she went ahead and picked her piece. The game managed to go by with little incident, the only difficult bit was that June threw a brief tantrum and tried to bite Mari once Mari had won. Though the moment that Mayumi mentioned dinner, June’s mind turned focused to the idea of food.

Mayumi brought out a bowl of rice with steamed pork and carrots and divided the meal into equivalent portions. Once June had smeared her face with rice and the plates were clear Mayumi set each of the girl’s down. “June… Mari… there’s something that Momo and I need to tell you…” Mayumi turned slightly to Momo, “Do you want to tell them, or would you rather I did?”

The time passed much quicker than Momo wanted it to pass. The kids were adorable, even if Junko was rather hot-tempered and wild and Mari seemed to have little independence. Once the twins were sat on the couch, Momo seemed a bit nervous, shoving her hands into her pockets.

“I-I dunno, ‘Yumi… maybe you should tell ‘em, seein’ as you’ve been aroun’ longer an’ stuff… er, on second thought, why don’t we just wait ‘er whatever?” Momo mumbled, her right leg shaking in anxiety. She hadn’t even known how nervous she had been until this very moment. “I… You start.” The purple-haired woman gently took the other’s hand, giving it a squeeze as she tried to gain some sort of composure.

Seeing as Mayumi was beating around the bush, Momo took a deep breath, deciding to beat her to the punch. “What… your mother is tryin’ ta say is… well, I’m also yer mom.” Time stopped for a few seconds as confusion hung in the air. “… Technically, I’m yer dad. Mom. Whatever. I-, euh… can ya explain it better?”

Mayumi nodded lightly as she felt the other squeeze her hand slightly. She could tell the other was extremely nervous. Mayumi couldn’t blame her… it never should have had to of been like this… But they were here now and if they wanted any sort of future, the girls needed to know as soon as possible. “O-okay… well… Mari… June… when two people love each other very much, see… well, they get together and decide to make a baby… s-see…” Mayumi’s eyes widened somewhat as Momo went ahead and admitted their relation.

“You see girls… Sometimes… if two people love each other so much… it doesn’t even matter if one of those people isn’t a ‘Dad’. So… you girls well… Momo and I just loved each other so much that our love created you both.”

June raised a brow and huffed, “Then why not lived together before?”

“Err… well, you see… when I was pregnant with you two… I… I got lost. And I ended up here… do you two remember Auntie? She helped raise you both, and she left us the inn, because she loved us very much… but after all this time, well… Momo found us… but… Momo is your mother as well, girls.”

Mari shuffled herself off of the couch and dropped to the floor, walking quickly over to the chair the purple haired woman was in. She hoisted herself over the arm of the chair and sat staring at the purple-haired woman. Mari leaned forward and gave the woman a big hug then pulled back, “Hello, other ma, I’m Mari.”

((Ya damn right she would! Sakura Momo refuses to have you fall and hurt yourself and die and leave her with kids. I MEAN- She's looking out for your safety. And the other thing, too. And god damn right you were very fucking supportive. Much more than my muse. Making this funnier for me.))

((That's because Homura is a boss in every aspect. And she's still over supportive of her baby and I love it.

And I don't anticipate her ever relaxing on Momo. At least not for long, anyhow. Maybe a brief reprieve in serious moments, but all in all. Momo Sakura is perceived as a direct threat to Mayumi's well-being))
