#exploreyourbackyard - Series 11: Dudhsagar Waterfalls, Goa & Karnataka Border | India Goa is not all about beaches, cocktails and parties. The more time you spend here the more you uncover. Sadly most of them just come over for a good "party time" and head back with some crazy memories no doubt. However given this is my first time here in 25yrs, spending a few along with being here at the end of monsoons meant I could see a lot of greenery and more. Also considering I was so close to one of the most beautiful waterfalls in India, I decided to head there on a hike with a couple of friends. And boy what an experience it turned out to be. 25kms of hiking up & down a railway track, crossing 6 pitch black tunnels, coming across a couple of snakes, hiking with heavy rains pouring on us & finally experiencing the waterfall right by its base was all just priceless. The falls, made famous by the Bollywood movie "Chennai Express", at an approximate height of 350mts, split into 4 tiers and passing under a railway track is incredible to say the least. Dudhsagar Waterfalls is probably one of India's finest kept secrets and so thankful it is a bit of an effort to get there. If it was any more commercial, the nature around it would've surely gone for a toss. Even with it's current state the amount of plastic you see along the way and at the spot is a bit appalling. Thanks to the pandemic, there were hardly any people and we had the falls n the track all to ourselves for majority of the day. Here's a small sample of the experience & the falls.. I've attempted vlogging for the first time, will be posting in a week or so..Watch out :) #goatourism #dudhsagar #dudhsagarfalls #hiking #hikinginindia #Goatravels #incredibleindia #incrediblekarnataka #incredibleindiaofficial #travelgoa (at Dudhsagar Falls) https://www.instagram.com/p/CGxB6HgnFva/?igshid=171jz414a6ino
