If “Bartimaeus” had an anime opening — this vibe would fit…
I thought Bartimaeus as Ptolemy was described as like, bald or having very short hair? But now in book 2 he suddenly has long hair…Confused
I started reading the Bartimaeus trilogy again (it’s been atleast 5 years, probably more since I last read them), I just finished the first one
In the last scene, Bartimaeus tells Nathaniel that he sees his ability and potential, and then after he’s freed, he describes that the filled the room with the smell of sulphur, so that HE’D BE REMEMBERED by something — which means he was pretty certain they weren’t going to meet again (trusted Nat not to call him back?) and that’s probably why he said a few nice words to the boy before as well…
Rosie has to be connected to Lilith because of one (1) simple reason: Alastor would not try to summon some random demon…he’d go for the mother of them all…
Mother
If you can't read text, it's in ID
Spoilers for season 3, very real, trust me (i wonder how much i'm gonna cringe after s3 comes out?)
Umm, anyway, i was like. Hm there's theory that Alastor is son of Roo. And there's theory that Charlie is daughter of Roo. And also viv hates charlastor. What if it's because these theories are BOTH true?...
Also could this count as a BIIG PLOT TWIST that viv was talking about? Or not big enough?
Anyway, if i'm gonna make anything anymore with this concept, i'm gonna call this au Siblings by Evil, sounds epic, right?
YOOOO I LOVE THIS SHIT
Maybe the way Lucifer’s and Alastor’s relationship develops is Lucifer finally coming to regard him in a fatherly way?
With the Charlie and Alastor are Roo’s spawns/children theory going around I bet this might be the case?
Imagine this guy shows up, first pretends he’s dating your daughter, then tries to overtake your role. And then you find out he’s your daughter’s mother’s son from another father (or none).
based off @elsa-fogen (s) human au, which I’m currently obsessed w/

Vaggie When She Realizes Her Girlfriend Has More Chemistry With A Girl She Just Met Than Her
I thought this scene sums it up. They just click more than her own canon girlfriend.
Alastor does not have a father-daughter relationship with Charlie, and I am not budging - the ever updating post.
This post exists for one purpose - to defeat the myth that Charlie and Alastor see each other that way, just because of that one line in Hell's Greatest Dad. It was not written as a defence of Charlastor specifically, although you are free to use it as such. Let's go! If Alastor had fatherly feelings towards Charlie, he:
Would have been overjoyed to see that Lucifer is there to take control of the situation and give help. With him there, Charlie is the safest she can possibly be. That should make fatherly Alastor happy. Which naturally leads to my next point...
Would not have antagonised Lucifer, at all, ever. He would have been very friendly and caught him up on their progress. Failing to present himself as friendly and likeable to Lucifer (who was pretty much the main aggressor in this episode btw) he would have politely taken the L and disengaged.
Would have given her the knowledge about Carmilla for free, because he would want her to succeed more than anything (lol), instead of trapping her with a favour. Lucifer helps her for free. Alastor sees him do it. Lucifer does not help for free. He even says so in the song - he usually takes sacrifices, but gives her a family rate. So if you are taking the Dad comment from Alastor as gospel, you should also take this as such. If Alastor felt Charlie is family, he would do the same thing.
Would have already renovated the hotel by himself, which he is perfectly capable of doing, instead of doing fuck all for 9 episodes. He had 6 months to do that. Lucifer makes a new hotel in a day. They had the same means to do it - KeeKee. He does not believe in the hotel and only does bare minimum - that is not fatherly. But wait - Lucifer also tries to discourage her and does not believe in her! But that is not true, is it? He believes in her just fine - he does not believe in sinners and Heaven, specifically.
Wouldn't be antagonising Vaggie. As someone who is so fatherly, he would have forgiven Vaggie for her cold reception in the pilot, since he now understands how it feels to have someone you love so much in potential danger. Vaggie protects Charlie - this is good. That is Charlie's partner, her support system. Wait, that is not what happens. He mocks Vaggie ruthlessly for her failure to remake the commercial. Oh, and in case you missed it - Vaggie also made a deal with Alastor. He undermined Charlie two times? I can't keep up with all this daddying.
Would most assuredly try to teach her some of what he knows, you know, like parents do. Charlie is the second most powerful being in Hell, and she could probably learn some of what he knows. Also, danger is coming, and she needs everything she can get. Where is a single hint of magic lessons? Voodoo? Sound magic or something? Anything? Father and mentor, my ass. Does he teach her anything? That she should smile. Who usually tells women to smile? Their dads, or catcalling men?
Would immediately rebuke Rosie's implications, but he didn't. Remember, when he's opposed to things (like Angel's suggestive flirting) he immediately reacts. Not once, but twice, Alastor rejected Angel. For Charlie? Not a sound. I remember one time when a street seller ambushed my brother and I to try to sell him a rose "for your girlfriend" - we both immediately gagged and retched in absolute disgust. That is what you do when people ship you with your family. Where is that? You know what Alastor does?He introduces her as an heiress to the throne of Hell, not even as his friend. You know what Charlie does when Rosie calls her too young for Alastor? She frowns. That same Rosie, by the way, is a matchmaker. She sees what she sees.
Her body language in this whole scene was weird, btw. Especially when she is seated. Rewatch carefully.
Wouldn't cause Charlie to jolt every time he's nearby. They would be CLOSE, and she would not be startled by him teleporting around, since it would be a common sight. Which brings me to...
Would have actually had scenes with Charlie indicating incredible closeness and habits they regularly share, but by the time Lucifer shows up, he doesn't. Charlie is visibly surprised that he would touch her in front of Lucifer and say nice things about her, and we recognise that his touch is not genuine (unlike hers, which was). Which brings me toooo...
LUCIFER WOULD NOT HAVE MISTAKEN HIM FOR A BOYFRIEND. Did Lucifer, the king of Hell, get manipulated as well? How? Why do you think he was relieved to meet Vaggie? (He does not care about her. He gets her name wrong).
Wouldn't in a billion years roll around in her bed like he does, or be as touchy as he is. And don't say manipulation, that is just offensive. If a guy you are not close with touched you without asking all the time, it would do the opposite of wanting you to do his bidding. You would probably want to kick him in the nuts. Alastor is terrible at manipulation, and his poker face isn't effective. His actual strength is the fear he instils in people and the rumours that spread about him. He is also pretty blunt and honest, as he delivers what he promised in his deals and is not shy about the violence he inflicts (I pulled a few limbs too, ha ha ha!). If you want a manipulator, look at Vox. Look how moulds Valentino to his will and makes him think he came up with doing nothing about Angel. How he invents Angelic security on the spot.
Alastor is YOUNGER than Charlie, and ranks multiple levels below her in power. He is only an Overlord. He cannot overpower her or cause her harm. She is also protected by Lucifer, who already hates Alastor.
Alastor wants to use Charlie for something, but she can't be manipulated for one simple reason. She is a succubus. You can't manipulate a succubus. Please look up what succubi do to men. She knows everything she needs to be safe. She is not under the illusion that Alastor is harmless - she knows him on sight, and you can see her using her royal authority against him to forbid him from using magic against her. Furthermore, she hopes he will do better, and in S1, he already does. So if anything, she is rubbing off on him.
You are probably kicking and screaming that he is her dad because you want to ship him with someone else. Please do that without making other people feel small. Did you know that several young Charlastor fans ended their lives over online bullying? Because a stranger thought they were playing with their imaginary dolls in their own house wrong? You are free to ship anyone you want in your own free time, but what you are not free to do is harass anyone about it.
"But he is asex-" Great, me too. I have a husband. Are you gasping in horror? Come at me to lecture me how I deserve to be alone because of who I am, and how it is utterly offensive for anyone to even consider being with me. I am itching for you. Platonically. Please understand that asexuality is a huge umbrella that covers many different people, and they are very different and often romantically incompatible with each other. And even so, there are in fact exceptions. Charlie is a succubus. She is the exception. And even if you still disagree, Alastor does not exist and shipping does not change canon.
I am always a bit concerned that people think that they have a father-daughter relationship. It makes me think that they themselves have an atrocious one with their own parents. I do not live with my dad and I have not talked to him in decades, and even I have received more fatherly attention than Charlie has from Alastor. You have an opportunity to see what it actually looks like when someone has a fatherly connection to his daughter and intends to maintain it (they even sing a song about it), and for some reason, this myth is still not dying. Why? Alastor is not even fatherly to Niffty (he owns her soul). Nobody in the show thinks Alastor is Charlie's adoptive father. Alastor doesn't think that, Vaggie doesn't think that, she herself doesn't think that, Vivziepop doesn't think that (SEE THE VIDEO), Lucifer doesn't think that for a second.
As soon as Alastor says DAAAAD, he rotates his head to menacingly glare at Lucifer, and it works. Lucifer is disgusted and confused, because...WHAT ELSE COULD HE POSSIBLY BE?????
Charlie is to his right. He is not telling it to her. The show has simply not demonstrated closeness between these two, only potential and explosive chemistry in the pilot. That, however, is not a relationship of any kind, let alone a close relationship. Alastor's only goal was to show to Lucifer that he's unnecessary and needs to go away and let him control the situation, because Lucifer has the ability to obliterate Alastor's plans (that may have something to do with Lilith!) and make him obsolete. Alastor was hitting below the belt into Lucifer's weak spot, his relationship with Charlie. Where else could he possibly hit? He can not kill Lucifer. He also thrives on admiration he receives from Charlie for his powers (pilot). He loves that, and he cannot receive that if Lucifer is replacing his services and abilities. He knows he cannot compare, which is why when Lucifer promises Charlie riches and luxuries, he points out his loyalty instead. He's been faithful as a nun. Or do you think that Alastor works as a nun in his spare time? Or that an ancient being that is Lucifer has a Yelp page where Americans rate his services? Did Alastor really drop gigantic books on Charlie? Did Lucifer actually fall out of a slot machine?
Absolutely not, right?
Another thing nobody mentions EVER is that Alastor might really need the hotel exactly the way Angel Dust does. He was out of work for seven years, and he left his tailor with a torn coat, implying nothing got done. He eats old roadkill and is embarrassed to be seen by Vaggie doing so (although I think he is also at least a bit monstrous and probably enjoys it - however, I noticed it and it made me think). He is very likely broke and homeless, and needs to live in the hotel, because it is free. He has a room and a swamp and wants to stay. Lucifer wants him to leave. Therefore, Alastor wants Lucifer to leave.
Don't even get me STARTED on saying Alastor and Rosie are her aDoPtIvE pArEnTs. Watch Season 2.
This scene in particular. Then we will talk. You will see what ACE IN THE HOLE really stand for.
I still ship Charlastor no matter how the show ruins it but Emily saving Alastor and carrying him like a cat doesn't get out my head, the only thing which could have made it better is if she carried bride style
Charlie not caring that Alastor got hurt despite her being the first one who hugged him in the season 1 finale was so annoying, couldn't they at least include Charlie asking if he's ok?
At least Damsel in distress Alastor got saved by a woman and not a man , I hope they have more interactions later. Emily's job is to spread joy and Alastor definitely needs some, they have potential for a great friendship
Emily walking together with Alastor in heaven meeting: He's my emotional support deer!
Sera: You can't take him everywhere with you
Emily: You take Sir pentious with you everywhere too
Sera ,petting Sir pentious who's on her lap: That's different Emily! My duty is to protect the souls in heaven and he keeps building stuff which can harm him if he's alone
Lute looking at hallucination!Adam: Pathetic
Just two Seraphims with their emotional support (ex)-sinners , Every Seraphim deserves an emotional (former)human soul with them. Lucifer has Lilith, Emily gets Alastor and Sera gets Sir pentious
Thinking about it Sir pentious x Sera is practically Lucilith only with their species swapped,A tall woman who leads a kingdom and her pathetic snake partner. Also Lucifer is the first fallen angel and Sir pentious the first redeemed sinner! Can you tell that I'm sick at home and have too much time on my hands?

at first (a long time ago) i thought it’s
the hardest reigns, the coldest wins
not the hardest rains, the coldest winds
but the similarity still feels intentional as it fits with light’s idea at the beginning that he has been somehow chosen and has to live up to the task
the main difference between pilot alastor and show alastor is that the latter is an even bigger edgelord (plus his eyes seem to be in pain; but that does add to the grotesque of his smile…)
