This is my friend's Japanese Akita, Kara (aka Karrington, aka Lady K, aka The Landseal). She was rescued from a puppy farm a few years ago, and despite being pretty intensely traumatised and initially suffering from a number of behavioural and skin conditions, she's become the biggest, most huggable, wise and beautiful teddybear of a dog I've ever met.

Recently she developed a fast-growing lump, and though tests are ongoing, the vet has said that it needs to be removed.

I know this is a grim topic for such a wholesome page, but I love this dog and I'm trying anything that might be of help. Her owner is incredibly responsible, but due to her own financial situation she is unable to afford the surgery.

I know you guys love akitas as much as I do, and I hope that if anyone sees this, they'll be able to help in some way.

Say hello to my new puppy, Kubo! He is a silver brindle Japanese Akita puppy and I’ve waited five, long years to own a JA! His parents are imports from Japan and he was lovingly bred by Kaiju Kennels. He is such an amazing boy and I am so happy to have him apart of my gang!
