Run Forrest Run || OS
After placing my feet on the floor, I then proceed to pick up and put on the chainmail tunic underneath my jacket and white shirt, mentally preparing myself for more walking. With the staff in my left hand and the mace in my right, I hop downstairs and head towards the door. Just before touching the last step, I spot a pile of gold as well what looks to be a bath token next to the doorway? What? Judging by it’s mysterious placing it had to be left by no other than No-Face. Someone who I have yet to see or hear from since last night… Maybe this is his way of telling me where to go? Well he seriously overestimated my intelligence because I have no clue what to do with this. Shrugging it off, I put the coins in my pocket and push through the busted door to head outside. Where I was going I had no idea, I just want to put as much distance as I can between this windmill and me.
I start to head southwest, or at least what I think is southwest, towards the forest in hopes of a new shelter. It’s not long until thick trees and semi tall grass surround me. Good thing I grabbed my water container otherwise I’d already be seriously dehydrated with all this heat. Taking a quick swig, I promptly place it back to the makeshift belt I made from the whip. I still haven’t eaten anything but it’ll be okay I think. The human body can last three days without water and three weeks without food; learned that in training so go me. Anyways, seeing as how much of us have already perished, we will reach a Victor by today or tomorrow so food isn’t the main priority at the moment. Even if I am indeed starving.
A few hours pass and I still find myself walking about through the foliage. Just when I’m about to call it quits and rest, I suddenly come to a small clearing and spot the infamous river in front of me. It’s like never fucking ending with this river I swear to god. Wait a second, there is no more ground where the river ends. I think I just accidently stumbled upon the edge of the arena… Well butter my butt and call me a biscuit, what have I done… I know I should turn and cross the river to get away but Jesus Christ I don’t want too. Relaxing right now is so much easier. On a closer glance at the water the current has seemed to dissipate, and the water level has seriously lowered. I have a feeling Game Maker interference was in play to get us to fight… Well I did my part dammit. Let the others kill each other off for the time being.
Going against better judgment, I decide not to cross. I better not regret this weird choice; I worked too hard to die of exposure or arena forces. With the edge of the arena behind me, I step closer to the waters edge, taking off my leather jacket and plopping down my supplies to get some rest. Maybe try to fight hunger pains and figure out some kind of game plan in the process…?
Day Two Arena Update
Location: Windmill (West)
Allies: No-Face
Weapons: Whip, Mace, Quarterstaff, Chain mail Tunic, Hunters Knife
Items: Matches & Watering can (cleaned and filled with purified water)
Injuries: Missing pinky finger, broken nose (reset), slash to right wrist (cleaned and wrapped), bruised arms and legs, gash to left side and thigh (cleaned and wrapped).
Comments: Ran into a ghostly figure named No-Face at the start of the day. At first I was horrified but I reached a stroke of genius in the midst of panic, striking a deal and allying myself with him. I promised to feed him if he would just simply stick around and keep me company until this thing is over. Due to me being a man of my word, I went out hunting and found the girl from Eleven in a windmill not far from the river. She fought valiantly the whole time but in the end I prevailed, letting No-Face consume her body.
Eyes Open || OS
Slowly then all at once, my eyes begin to close, signaling the start of my new bed time. I promptly and politely put an end to the conversation with No-Face and promise to pick it back up after I find a new resting point. He continues to grow on me every second and I'm happy with the situation. I vowed to keep feeding him if he continues to keep my company. A mutual understanding until I get out of here.
Pushing the bed away from the door, I take the mattress off the metal frame and head upstairs to find a hidden spot. Being that I blew a hole in the door, staying downstairs would be stupid at this point. Literally anyone could come barging in undetected so fuck that mess. Finally reaching the top stair, I toss the mattress down near the broken window, kicking away the broken glass and ignoring the bloodstains in the process. I then prop the mattress in a position to where I can see out if I lift my head but no one could see in if they approached from below. I had to take some extra precautions right?
I trail off back downstairs to retrieve my supplies and weapons, doing a head count of this rather large new arsenal. Once done I return to my new bed upstairs and plop my shit next to me, keeping them in close range in case of any surprise attacks.
Laying my head down on the pillow, I watch the sunlight slowly dissipate throughout the arena. I can’t help but flashback to the many screams produced in my fight simultaneously. I’m pretty sure the noise will attract more tributes my way. Way to close for comfort for my taste, so bright and early tomorrow morning I get the fuck out of here. For now, I bid this weird day farewell.
Now What? || OS
Gathering the girls jacket and weapons, I retreat inside the windmill looking around for things to patch me up before moving on. Using the hunter’s knife, I take apart the fresh sheets on the bed, ripping them into pieces to soak up the blood on my body. Now if I can only find some clean water to fix me up….
Other than the bed, I look around the downstairs and see nothing useful but an oil lamp and a box of matches. Quickly becoming dissatisfied with the options, I head up the stairs, taking a peek around to see if I missed something earlier. Upon arriving I notice there’s a long table with potted plants next to an empty watering can just waiting to be used. Suddenly a light bulb goes off in my head, I can use this container to boil river water. Huzzah I’m a fucking genius. I quickly snatch up the watering can and head downstairs and outside, making my way to the water once more. I scoop the empty container into the river a couple of times, washing out any unwanted dirt for safe measure. After finally filling the container, I trail back off to the windmill, more than eager to purify this water for safe consumption. I barge through the door and kick the bed away in anger, it’s been a long fucking day and I’m not in the mood to keep moving shit around like this. I-demand-rest. I finally light a match and toss into the fireplace, which immediately catches ablaze, one less stress I have to worry about. I stick the water can as close as possible without actually sticking it into the fire and wait for it to boil.
After a lengthy thirty minutes it finally begins to boil, to which I hastily pick it up and try blowing on it to cool it off. I quickly begin guzzling down the clean water for I could wait no fucking longer, I don’t even care that it burns a little going down. I must admit though, this is the single most fantastic thing I have ever tasted. Never again shall I go this long without it. I let out breaths in-between large gulps and then after I am satisfied begin using the cut up sheets to clean myself up. I dab the linen in the remaining amount of water, wiping away the blood and wrapping each of the many wounds delicately in the process.
Finally, after an hour or so, I am cleaned up, so to speak. Now that I’m left to just my thoughts again, I can’t help but wonder where No-Face is now. I did what I said but does that mean he’s finished being around me? Not gonna lie, I kinda miss him… He was the only one—besides Dotev—I have talked to since the last night in the Capitol. I sorta feel like we are friends now, is that weird?
“No-Face... Are you still there?” I call out into the void trying to fill the silence.
“Yes. I’m still here Alastair.” A voice chimes in.
“Good. I just wanted to make sure you haven’t left yet. I have plenty of questions to ask you.”
“Of course you do boy. I am a very interesting phenomenon. Go ahead with the questions, I owe you that. That girl was delicious!”
A smile lights up my face as I ask question after question, getting to know my newfound ally. I wonder if anyone else is having as much fun as I am over something the Game Makers designed to kill me. Has to be a first at the very least, befriending a weapon like I am. Which leads me to believe I am either bat shit crazy or immensely smart for doing such a thing. Only time will tell I guess.

Deal With The Devil || OS
“Hello?” I call out half expecting the assailant to reply. “Whoever is out there needs to quit fucking around and just come out. I’m sick of this shit.”
Instantly a shadowy figure appears out of thin air, hovering inches above the ground. My eyes widen in shock for it looks like I’m staring at something without a body… A ghost…? My grip loosens, sending the mace to the ground. Covering my mouth, I begin to back away in horror, wondering how the hell I’m going to get out of this. How do I battle? There is no way this is actually happening; it doesn’t have any legs!
“W-w-what are you…?” I quiver, blankly staring back.
Instead of answering the dark figure appears emotionless, moving forward to match my gaze. It floats inches away, revealing itself and the intimate details. I can’t help but notice that it’s actually not faceless, there seems to be some kind of mask, an expressionless one with purple highlights. I’m guessing it’s there so people know where to look when speaking?
“What do you want?” I let out furrowing my brow.
“I’m-hungry.” The figure says still resting near my face. The voice is barely louder than a whisper but yet somehow I still manage to understand what he’s saying.
“Well In case you haven’t noticed, I don’t have anything to eat!”
“Oh you have plenty.” Slowly and ominously this things head, or what I assume is his head, starts to lift. The masks painted on eyes stare at me, or rather through me. It’s as if he can see right through me and into my soul…
Without warning the figure forms a pair of hands, grabbing my left arm and ripping off my pinky finger in one clean sweep. I wail out in pain as the blood pours out of the injury. I release my bloody hand from its grip, pinching the wound and cowering backwards. The figure opens a hidden mouth beneath the mask and begins to chow down.
“Why?!” I scream, “Why did you do that?!”
“Like I said, I’m-hungry.” Something is different. He’s speaking louder now… almost as if he’s gained confidence. He talked like a frightened child before, but now it seems that’s all changed. “And you, my boy…” The hidden mouth suddenly appears once again and his largely grotesque tongue falls out and the creature begins to lick his lips. “... are delicious!”
The figure moves in, closing the distance I created between us. I try to turn around and run but as soon as I take off the figure instantly appears in front of me. There is no way I’m getting away from this thing that easy, I must think of something else.
“Wait wait wait. What if I said I can find you some food, then would you not eat me?”
This seems to stop him, or at least cause his curiosity to peak. The mask tilts to the side, as if it were a human being suffered from a bout of confusion. “You bring up an interesting proposition, human boy… Perhaps I won’t… But how do I know you if you are lying to me?”
“Because I have to kill these other fuckers if I want live anyways, might as well help you out in the process.”
“Go on. I’m listening.”
I breathe a sigh of relief, somehow coming up with a plan on the fly. “Ok so lets say I go out and hunt other tributes down, if I win you can eat them. If I loose you can eat me anyways? Deal?”
The figure continues to float, still not giving away a hint of emotions, I assume contemplating my plan. “I accept your offer, human boy. But you must go now. I’m very hungry.”
Even though he said deal I still feel a bit uneasy, I just made a deal with a spirit. Not only that, I just promised that I would feed it. What have I done now? I guess I’ll never truly feel okay with what I did but maybe I can use it to my advantage. Somehow, someway, I’ll find a way to come out on top. I have to; there literally is no other choice.
“Amazing,” I say sarcastically, “My name is Alastair by the way”
“You can call me No-Face. I doubt you’ll be able to repeat my true name so lets skip the embarrassment.”
“My kind of guy…” After the words left my mouth I tilt my head and scrunch my nose in confusion. Is it a male? I can’t assume like that it’s incredibly rude. Trying to be careful as possible I pick up my mace and whip, focusing my attention to the nearby surroundings. “Wait, are you a guy?”
“I transcend gender, human boy, but for the sake of your feeble mind, sure. You may refer to me as a male.”
Holding my hand over my eyes to shield the sun, I look west across the river, trying to block out the pain from the missing finger and setting my sights on the giant windmill in the process. Last night I saw a parachute head drop there so I know someone is holding up inside. I’m sorry whoever you are, but No-Face is hungry and it’s either you or me who lives. I choose me every single time.
Pointing to the windmill, I let out a smile, “Cool beans. What do you say we find us some food, I think there is someone over there?”
“Then take us there. Be warned, if this is but a trap, I shall tear you limb from limb.”
I bring my whip to my waist and quickly tie it around like a belt, securing it for the journey through the river. I begin making my way to the water, still having no thoughts for what I’m about to do. As I reach the waters edge I somehow don't have a difficult time as I did yesterday. Maybe it’s because No-Face is literally right here hovering above me? Or maybe it’s because I know what to expect, either way I manage to power through and army crawl out of the water.
After a few minutes of gathering my thoughts, I finally arrive outside the windmill. I hold the mace behind me like a baseball bat, eager to see who rests in this windmill. With one mighty swing I blast a hole in the wooden door, making my presence known.
Day One Arena Update
Location: Western part of the forest. (near the river)
Allies: Lol
Weapons: Whip, Mace
Items: None
Injuries: None
Comments: Besides escaping the Bloodbath without a scratch there is not much to report. Oh wait, I almost drowned trying to cross the river immediately after all of the action. Whoops… I also found some shade and decided to rest in the forest tonight. Tomorrow I keep moving.

Awry Disposition || OS
I stand to my feet, taking off my damp leather jacket and tying it around my waist to let my under shirt dry. I then proceed to gather my two weapons, trailing off to what I believe to be a more west direction. I could be up shit creek without a paddle and wouldn’t even know it right now; this forest is so thick it’s quite easy to get turned around. Continuing to trail on, I notice my boots crunch fallen branches under my weight, giving away my invisibility. If any other tribute were near me by now they would have easily heard me…
Suddenly becoming more aware of my surroundings, I notice I have accidently came out of the tree line, looking back out at the river again. I glance to my right and realize that the rivers current had taken me further that I thought. If I look to the left of me I can see a giant windmill in the distance, but once again I would have to cross yet another river. Who the fuck had this idea. Rolling my eyes with annoyance, I decide not to cross the water just yet, fearing I might not return safely as I did the last time. Instead I return back over to the tree line, still keeping the river in my line of sight, weary of anybody crossing it and trying to fuck with me.
I once again find another tree and plop down, untying my now dry jacket from my waist and propping it up as a pillow. I have no idea what time it is so I might as well rest until tomorrow. I need to conserve my energy since I have no food or water, might as well allow my body to adjust to this new climate in the process. Tomorrow I might go exploring some more, what if there is wild game here? I could catch some food if I'm lucky. I’m familiar with butchery so if I do actually end up catching something I can easily chop it up safely, there’s just that silly matter of making a fire. Besides back in training, I have never made one without matches before, so this or anything else I do could go awry. What else is new?
