“i’ve made these songs here last month and posted as "unlisted" on thursday, because it was just to see how the project was going as a whole...

due to not wanting to continue it (and maybe start another one), now publicly posted.

i have a lot of dissatisfaction about this album, but i don't see why not to expose it. fortunately i feel that no matter what anyone thinks about it: it is no longer a humiliation to make mistakes or create mediocre compositions. reaching that level is somewhat of a victory. it just became music for me, a sincere and meaningful but not limiting expression: in my life, in general aspect, there is much more that i unfortunately have to worry about”

who’s alcovës?

well, i define myself as a persona. in the drawing above alcovës is identified as the one carrying a sickle. marc calls the personas as homunculus. in that case, alcovës is the second musical homunculus (skeleto/skeletoid is the first one).

this is the very first album by me: alcovës. recorded in my bedroom with the webcam microphone. 80% made between 11pm and 6am (that’s the best time to be alone). this is “a criação falha” (the failed creation).

this release is a very unconventional piece not only to brazilian music, but worldwide, i think. even that i don’t care too much, i was afraid about how people would accept it. it’s pure low budget and the music industry have quality standards. art should be free of that. music is art too

i hope somehow things change for the better in that way. we are in a new era, and internet allows everyone to put their work to the whole world to see or to listen. it’s time to open the mind!
